This review is from: Cocky Genius: Ethan Cocker (Cocker Brothers of Atlanta Book 9) (Kindle Edition)
Oh my gosh what a wonderful read!!! Faleena Hopkins outdoes herself again and again. I am so in love with this Cocker family. Once you have invested the time to read about this family, this book is more impactful when you read it. Ethan is the genius son of Jake and Drew Cocker, (which have their own book Cocky Roomie) who has the world by the tail even more than his father and mother did. He is a genius who has developed extreme computer technology that has skyrocketed his life into the upper crust of society. Even though he is very rich and has more than most anybody else, he is starting to become lonely and wanting more substance in a relationship for his life. He is realizing that a bunch of non committed affairs with other women are not cutting it anymore. When he is called to Wyntech to find a hacker, he doesn't realize it at the time but he is finally going to find the answer for his life. He is so smart, and cocky and not worried about opinions of the rest of the world. He has unruly, sloppy hair, dresses like he's just hanging out at home and a devil may care attitude. Why not? He has it all. Money, good looks, a famous family, did I say money, and a mansion. Not a house, but a mansion. He has a sarcastic and confident tongue, and doesn't seem to care about the rest of the free world. His main love and loyalty are to his family and rightly so. They are his best confidants and his only friends---although, if you haven't read one of these great books, you should know that there are 17 cousins, so it stands to reason that he has enough trusted friends huh.? Anyway, Ethan is a really cool guy with it all, except for that right girl, that is the main goal of all the Cocker men. He will know it when he finds her. Charlie, a red head with blue eyes, has suffered some loss in her life and is now the CEO of Wyntech. She is in a mans world, but can definitely handle her own when it comes to this business. She has hired Ethan to find the hacker in her company, but has no idea what he looks like and has never met him. All she knows is that he comes from a wealthy and influential family and more importantly, he is the best man for the job at Wyntech and that's all she is worried about at the time. What she doesn't realize is that soon, she will be thrust into the presence of Ethan and the world as she knows it will be forever changed. Charlie "Charlotte" Reed is a very beautiful, smart and conscientious woman who wants to make sure that she runs this company of hers just as good if not better than her grandfather. She has some struggles, due to some pain in her past that cause her to be very guarded when dealing with men and her business. She always remains professional and doesn't allow herself to live and be seen living except with her friend. When she finally meets Ethan though, she is unable to control the feelings that assault her and leave her wanting more. She is immediately taken with him and as he is with her. He had no idea that Charlie was a woman and now, he all he wants to do is spend time with this woman. (You should read Cocky Roomie, Ethan's parents story to understand the "male" girl names--makes it more meaningful--really--read it). Anyway, Ethan and Charlie become an item quick and there are major fireworks and love that melt your heart. These two very brilliant people are the ying and yang for each other and it is so fulfilling to read about a couple that has such love and respect for one another. The story is beautiful and very well written as always when reading one of Faleena's books. It has the family gathering at the famous Cocker BBQ, a family emergency that draws the clan together, grams, the beauty of the Cocker clan (again read the father's books of all these children), and an ending to keep your blood pumping and want to cry. If you have never read one of Cocker stories, you have seriously missed out. I have read them all and been so entertained by each of them. I love the Cockers and you will too. Thank you, thank you, thank you to Faleena Hopkins for sharing her Cocker family with us. I very much recommend this book to all of those out there who love the gift of multi-generational family, trust, family values and deep love. Once you read one of these, you are hooked. Out of the park again Faleena. I voluntarily read this book as an ARC for an honest review and because I just can't get enough.
