SAVAGE, Book 2 of the Immortal Rose Trilogy. Prequel to the bestselling YA Arotas Series.

An innocence forgotten. A love abandoned. A new era begins.

The world has changed. Humans live, fall in love, and return to the dirt from which they came, but for Roseline Enescue, time stands still. Many years pass without word from Fane, long enough for the feel of his touch to wane and she begins to doubt that he ever truly existed at all.

Vladimir continues in his ruthless pursuit to destroy her spirit. Plagued by the sinister whispers of his brother, Lucian, her husband turns to new methods of torture that leave Roseline on the brink of insanity. As rumors spread among the humans of vile monsters that inhabit Bran Castle, giving way to wild legend and myth, she is forced to fight alongside the family she despises in order to survive.

Soon it is no longer survival that she longs for...but blood.

Wow! The second installment in the Immortal Rose series and its fantastic. Amy Miles does not disappoint in this dark tale of Roselines life. I knew that she suffered at the hands of her husband but actually reading her story was so different. it's dark, gritty, and thrilling! Roseline struggles with keeping her humanity even when everything is against her. I must admit that I actually loved seeing Roseline turn dark. It was exciting and vengeful. With the introduction of hunters and the return of Roselines love, Fane, it perfectly sets the tone for the next book. Love Fane and really hope him and Roseline get more time together in the next book!

Loved it!!!

Man I hated this ended and others no third book out! I think this was even better than book one. God you can almost feel the anguish she goes thru, and after the cafe.I was really scared for her. I don't want to say anything to spoil it for anyone but I really love this series! Lol ok there were two things that bugged the crap out of me but only because I think if you are writing about something you don't know about ask someone who does!! There was one thing in book one and one in this book about horses. She says in the first book that as the horse pull the wagon as they struggle up a hill they bray... ok horses do it bray!! They whinny or nicker. In this book a horse is licking salt off her hand and she says the horse lounge is rough.. No a horses younger is not rough it is very very soft!! This really bothered me a lot for some reason but come on, ask someone who has a horse ! I mean come on we have an internet use it. There are a he'll of a lot of horse people out herself included who would be happy to answer your questions. Donkeys bray horses whiney lol sheesh. Besides those things I loved it.

Amy Miles has yet once again totally rocked out this next installment of Roseline's story. We all knew that Roseline went through hell and back at the hands of her husband but to read about exactly what she went through and what makes her the person she is today has left me speechless! The depths that Roseline has over come shows just how strong she really is. I absolutely love this series and can't wait for the next one! This book has a way of grabbing a hold of you and sucking you into the world as Roseline knows it.

I have been anxiously awaiting this second book of the Immortal Rose series and Amy Miles DID NOT DISAPPOINT! It didn't take long to get lost, again, in Roseline's story. There were definitely some shockers along the way, but also the reintroduction of the beloved Fane. It is darker than most books I read, with graphic vampire scenes, but it drew me in and seemed so real that I couldn't wait to get back into her dark story. Now, to wait for Book 3! I need more Roseline!
I HIGHLY recommend this series and book!!!

These books really are underrated....

Savage is the second instalment in the Immortal Rose trilogy and continues to follow Rosaline's struggle to adjust to her life as a vampire alongside a seriously bloodthirsty family of vamps. Whilst I didn't enjoy it as much as the first book and found it a bit repetitive at times, I loved continuing with Rosaline's story and particularly enjoyed the last third of the book. I would highly recommend this series to anyone who loves a bit of paranormal horror. Amy Miles has created a world that is utterly engaging and is one of the few writers of vampire fiction that doesn't sugar coat her stories.

As the series continues, I'm glad to report Amy Miles does not disappoint. Beautifully exquisite writing. Emotional depth. You anticipate the journey will continue to be difficult and Amy continues to deliver on character development and plot. What a beautifully painful read. Your heart breaks for the pain endured and experienced. Love this book and series. Have no idea how I'll be able to wait for the final book.

WOW ... Loved this next instalment to the series. I think this was miles better than Desolate only because I felt there was more to the story and I was more captivated in this story. I feel for Rosealine and what she has to go through over the years. I really hope she gets her revenge in the next book on Vladimir and Lucien once and for all. A certain quote comes to mind which is "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned"

Another fantastic read. Life has moved on without Fane for 100 + years. You find Rose has found her light at the end of the tunnel through another. This book had me in such tears! More darkness for Rose and only little hope throughout for her that you almost dont believe it to be. Plus the darkness that Rose has to fight off within her ownself. I need more FANE and Rose! I cant wait for the next!

I'm having a hard time believing that the Roseline in these prequels is the same as the one from the Arotas trilogy... and I have no idea if that's good or bad b/c I do not much like that Rose either. There is no way the simpering, faints every five minutes girl from "Forbidden" is 300 years old, nor is she the girl who has been through the sh!t Roseline in the prequels has. These books are approaching the "I hate myself for finishing them" category.

Great for a second book. This still follows all of our main character's form book one. Its hard to write this without giving spoilers (which I hate so I will not do) but let me just say that this writes really puts you in her shoes as to what she is going thru and how she handles it. It is great. I can not wait to see what will happen next.

4.5 stars. I devoured this book. Quite literally. I could not put it down. This was an amazing second installment. I relished when Rosaline was committing deplorable acts. I was sad when she was pushed to do it. This book had me all over the place trying to decide which side she should choose. Will she choose a life of being a savage killer? Or will she embrace the goodness she once had?

I enjoyed this one much more than Desolate. I liked how Roseline's character changes and that she is becoming a force to be reckoned with. I also enjoyed Fane's reappearance and the complications he symbolizes. I am looking forward to the last book.

This was a DNF for me. I just couldn’t invest in the characters enough to finish. Which was too bad because the first book was pretty good.

~~I received this in exchange for my honest opinion~~

I don't have the right words for this review for Savage. Savage completely took all the words out of my mouth. So many twists that I never saw coming. The heartbreak that was in the first one is back, but with a little revenge as well. You get to see Rose as something that you have never seen. You will see her love fiercely, and hurt those that lover her the most. This is a short review. But, this sequel is amazing.

I love the depth of her characters and how she can bring you to tears in the middle of a novel and make me nervous like I AM THE ONE TRYING TO FLEE THE VAMPIRES myself. I love how she has made the vampires back into the feared creatures they have alway been in the past. I find her use of the historical information of Vlad the Impaler intriguing. If you have not read this series it is worth the time to read. The author makes the reader feel everything that the heroine feels the idea that life has forsaken her, given up her humanity and has been reshaped into a broken shell of what she once was. It is a must read to feel the depth of the heroines anguish.

Yes, a thousand times, yes

IF You are looking for a series to read I do not believe you will be wasting your time with this one. Or the next. I've enjoyed this series and the next one a few times now. I've read and re-read the books. A story of a young girl forced into immortality that you find in later novels is all to fulfil a prophecy. The prohecy isnt really explained but, that didn't stop my interest. There are two sides to every story and as with many prophesies it is twisted to suit the needs of the honorable and evil. I'm not a good writer but:
The main character is torn between what she's become and in all the novels fights the darkness and her love and hate relationships. She also must fight to survive in every novel has the odds stacked against her . She fights onward. There are a few twists here and there.
Rosalyn was weak and you journey with her as she becomes a strong warrior. There's love involved of course. You will not find any descriptive steamy love scenes that are raunchy. (I liked that!) The fighting scenes are descriptive enough. Give it a try. You can read either series first I suppose, I did. It's better in order but, the author gives a bit of history in the first chapter so, you'll be fine either way.
