When your families are enemies...love can be a dangerous game.
When her boyfriend, Armand, cheats on her, Caterina goes looking for a distraction from his memory and the hurt he left behind. Flynn is the perfect specimen; Irish/Italian, sexy as hell, and sure to be the very thing to occupy her mind—and her body—if only for one hot, exciting night. Except Caterina isn’t prepared for the emotional impact the man has on her, and she fears falling into the same painful situation she was in with Armand—a man that her “boys” at home had warned her against. What would they think of her bringing home another man so soon? How “rigorously” would they interrogate him?
The instant Flynn sees Caterina walking down the street and entering the pub, he knows she’s the woman of his fantasies—fantasies that can be lived out in the space of one night. The woman is clearly looking for some company and Flynn is right there to accommodate her. In the heat of passion, though, he glimpses the pain she is hiding and is shaken by how deeply it affects him. But just as he’s beginning to think he could fall for her, he learns who her family is—the infamous Santiago crime family—and he understands that whatever ‘could have been’ can never be; not when their families are mortal enemies...and he means to kill the man she calls her brother.
WARNING: STORY CONTAINS BOTH M/F AND M/M EXPLICIT SCENES, STRONG LANGUAGE, AND GANGSTER-RELATED THEMES. FOR 18+ READERS ONLY.
Born and raised in scenic Coos County, Oregon, CJ enjoys the small town atmosphere and down-to-earth country folk who populate the area. She is a single mother and lives with her 18-year-old daughter, 1 horse, 4 dogs and 6 cats deep in the country woodlands which gives her plenty of time to write.
She is a Christian and a strong supporter of the LGBT community and favors gay erotic romance when it comes to writing. She hopes that her stories of love and acceptance will help further compassion and understanding for LGBT people who she feels is greatly misunderstood and persecuted - in a large party by the Christian community.
Most of all, she is hopeful that her stories will bring comfort to those who have been told that God hates them because they are different. It is her strong belief that God loves everyone and His love covers all.
A deeper look into the Santiago Family. I've been hoping for more of this family. It was kind of a nice departure from the all gay all the time of the Phoenix and Cowboy Gangster universe. There's still m/m, but the main story is m/f for a change. I wasn't sure how I would like it considering I've only read m/m books so far, but Bishop did not disappoint. The same intensity is there for this book as all the others in the Phoenix and Gangster Universes. We get to see more of Cruz and Sanchez, but the main story centers around a new couple and introduces a few new characters. I look forward to reading more. As always, CJ Bishop is on Automatic Buy. One click status for this author! Intense, raw, and real. She sucks you into the story and doesn't let go until the last page. Then you are left wanting more! I'm loving the Gangsters as much as the Strippers.
I have followed this author's books through all the Phoenix Club boys and any book attached to them. You meet some of the characters in this story through her other books. Catalina and Flynn are meant to be a one night stand but it is instant attraction with these two. A lot will go on between these two and the other characters of this book. Dive right in and enjoy.
The Santiago family is as amazing as the others written by C J Bishop. It was wonderful to revisit characters that are close to the reader heart in another gripping and emotional read. C J Bishop writes m/m romance so well but this book proves she can do m/f romance just as well, as hot and as Captivating as she always writes. This is a brilliant read and I can't recommend it strongly enough.
I wasn't to keen on reading this book BUT CJ Bishop did a great job. I can't resist meeting the Santiago Family knowing the Clint and Cochise would make an appearance.
You will not be disappointed because it mainly an M/F novel (Caterina and Flynn) but also you get a glimpse into Cruz and Sanchez's relationship. New characters are introduced and old ones are revisited like Cochise and his problem with John. I'm ready for book two.
It was absolutely a great book. A little sad that Axel didn't show up at all but completely understandable because it was explained why. I love the m/m storylines I love the boys, but cat and Flynn was a great couple. You are truly my favorite author and thanks for another great read!!!
I'm speechless, completely speechless! Could it be that Salvatore De Luca, is alive and not dead as we were led to believe?! He and Lorenzo, were, are lovers?! Slap me now and call me stupid!!! This book was simply amazing! I love Cruz, and Sanchez. They are so good together. Caterina and Flynn, are so Damon sexy together. This new series is a definite must !
This is my all time favorite series. I love all the boys. I love this family that we get to see into more. I can't wait for the next book . I can wait to read more about the Pheonix Boys and their families.
another excellent story by CJ Bishop. i am hooked on all the players in these stories. laughed, anxious, happy, sad, all in this story. In all her stories i have read.
Wow! CJ this book like all the rest was spectacular. I was wondering which way you were gonna go with the story I loved it. I also loved that we didn't have to loose any family members this time we need happy endings too.
Didn't know how I would feel about this but I gotta say that it was wicked. Can't wait to see what happens next. And never fear, the Cowboy is here too...lol
I love all the CJ books, but I must admit, I more enjoyed the scenes with Cruz & Sanchez or Clint and the gang. I liked Flynn and Caterina, but I just want more of our boys. Okay and maybe more of The Santiago boys. And Lorenzo!
