Rate this book
Three friends. Three wishes. And a dollop of magic…

Shy Chrissie, well-meaning Dee and no-nonsense Amber have worked together at law firm Hood, Mann & Derek ever since leaving their respective colleges. Now in their late twenties, the women have a close-knit friendship with much more in common than just typing up letters and legal documents for their solicitor bosses. Firstly, they’ve all been living with their respective boyfriends for the last few years. Secondly, they feel a marriage proposal is well overdue.

When office siren Cougar Kate invites the three women to her birthday soirée – complete with visiting fortune teller – the girls know there is only one question they’ll be asking the mysterious Madam Rosa: Will their men be going down on one knee any time soon? But opting to see a clairvoyant like Madam Rosa, who claims to know everything, is a bit like opening Pandora’s box. Some revelations are a joy, whereas others are most definitely not. Sometimes you have to be careful what you wish for…

The universal question that any woman who is in a relationship has in mind - will he or won't he? And when will he?
These three best friends/workmates Amber, Dee, and Chrissie have the same question in mind. When Christmas and New Year does not present them with a proposal or a ring, and when they get invited to meet with a clairvoyant - the woman who knew everything - they have only one question to ask her. But her answers leave them reeling and then life shows them the truth and a way out... And new possibilities...
This is my first book by author Debbie Viggiano, and I was pleasantly surprised at how fast the pages turned. The storyline was interesting and the girls fun. The book does not slow down except when the girls cried, and cried, and cried.
With her words dipped in a wry sense of humour, the author has captured the minds of young girls in love, who do not want to let go of their relationship at any cost. There is laughter, tears, determination and last but never the least, standing up for oneself. The book is well written, the friendship between the three girls comes through the words. I personally like strong characters who are independent and not afraid to live their lives fully.
Debbie has added a second chance for all these girls, men who sweep them off their feet. That made me wish for a personal clairvoyant for myself to bring magic to my life...
There a few niggles...
The girls daydream too much and sometimes in the middle of the conversation, the dreams go off on a tangent. Though I agree that's how a chick-lit is written, but that broke my enjoyment while reading and I skipped reading those parts.
The girls are modern, well settled in their careers, broad-minded, and they were not happy with their respective partners, yet they stayed in their relationship and allowed the guys to take advantage of them and humiliate their self respect. And they kept hoping that the men would change. Love makes us crazy but not at the cost of our self-respect.
Overall, this book by Debbie Viggiano has everything: love, friendship, anguish, tears, broken relationships, heartbreak, determination, second chances, hope, all which is magic and all what is life. It is entertaining, funny, and would make an ideal beach time or holiday read
In the end, Debbie Viggiano is the woman who knew everything and gave her all in this book...

Hugely entertaining! Laugh out loud characters and scenarios make for a truly memorable read. I literally could not put this down... And whilst I must confess to wanting to shake Chrissie, Dee and Amber on more than one occasion like snowglobes, I think this only adds to the compulsion to keep turning those pages! Fabulous fun.

Three work friends are all expecting proposals from their long term boyfriends- but each is nursing secrets from their friends about the less than perfect relationships that would surely be fixed by the hint of a diamond.

When they visit a fortune teller organised by the office 'vamp' they are left unsettled by her predictions- but surely the lady is making all the predictions up.

This was such a lovely book exploring great friendships, office politics and not so perfect relationships. The characters are so well drawn you feel that you could get a job at Hood Mann and Derek and meet up over coffee and discuss life and work issues with a hint of humour.

Madam Rosa leaves you wondering- but she seems to be very accurate as you are screaming at the girls to move on!

I loved every moment in this book and was sorry to come to the end- I just have to wait for Debbie's next book!!!!!!!

Total chick lit.

Dee, Amber and Christie are twenty something work friends eagerly waiting for their long term boyfriends to propose. Each are trying to portray the perfect relationship and overlook the debt, abuse and sadness.

When they are invited by cougar Kate to her birthday celebrations to see a clairvoyant, they are left infuriated by her predictions.

The storylines for each woman is funny and easy to relate to, although slightly predicable.

Ok, so I had a strange relationship with this book. I couldn't put it down, but I wanted to throw it across the room. Their boyfriends were all absolute garbage humans, so abusive! So I don't even judge the women for the submissive behaviour that I know can be present in these cases. I just think they flip the switch to 'over it' way too fast, like, in a chapter. One minute they are meek, next they are over it and taking control.

Also, maybe they all didn't need to find partners so fast? Just a thought. And I wish they had taken more time to develop the chemistry between the new guys and the girls, because it was a bit instalovey, except for Amber.

Overall, I had some fun, cringed with some bits (especially the trans joke, so not funny), but the book did what I expected, which was to distract me from a boring weekend alone.

I don’t even know where to begin!

What a fantastic book! I absolutely loved (and hated some) all the characters in this book!

How many women can actually relate to what those 3 young women are going through? A lot! More than a lot!

But how many women don’t realise that not all ends mean that something is over, but only the beginning. This is something to remember!

God, was this book awful. I'm sure I read another version because all I see are 5 stars reviews. The plot got my attention, the things Madam Rosa revealed on the first read was also promising, but two of them were in clearly abusive relationships and the third one's boyfriend was obviously having an affair and the plot was all over the place.

First they want to fight to keep their men (for some reason), then they suddenly realize they don't want them anymore (in the short time of one chapter) and it goes to a happily ever after in two chapters. Also, the boyfriends and their new partners are having a terrible time. Karma is a bitch. The End.

I sounded promising, but it was a failure.

Extremely entertaining RomCom that touches the heart!

This lovely novel is set around three women and their relationships that are somewhat on the rocks, and even though some of the developments are truly heartbreaking, Debbie Viggiano still manages to write about it in such a humorous way that it made me laugh out loud many times. It's got charm, wit and a snappy language use, which makes it a thoroughly entertaining read. Viggiano's writing skills, the ability to write about something dark and sad and make it very funny, reminds me of Marian Keyes - the master of writing about tragedies with a good portion of humour.

I can't wait to read another book by Debbie Viggiano!

Predictable story

I wanted a change from my usual genre so I thought I'd try this book
But it wasn't for me ,I found it very predictable and not as funny as I'd hoped.
And although its fiction it was all too "perfect"

This was a fun, fast read for me. The Woman Who Knew Everything is about three women who are frustrated at their boyfriends' not proposing marriage and when they go to a fortune teller for fun, she tells them not to hold out hope. Thankfully, there was a few gorgeous men waiting in the wings for them.

Things I liked:
- the friendship between the three women. It was obvious how important the three of them were to each other and it was one of my favourite parts of the book.
- the revenge plans. They were enjoyable, not going to lie.
- the different ways the women met the guys they ended up with at the end. All very different from the usual 'bumped into each other at the coffee shop' kind of meet cute.
- the happy ending. I'm a sucker for them and this one was really satisfying.

Thing I didn't like:
- maybe discuss marriage with your boyfriend. You know, big decision, much like having kids. See if it's on the cards before you hold out hope for the ring. All three of the women seem to be expecting their boyfriends to read their mind and know why she was frustrated. TALK TO EACH OTHER.
- I would quite easily say one of the boyfriends (Josh I think) strayed into emotional abuse territory. Like the guy puts her down, breaks down her self-esteem, rides all over her but yeah, the cheating is the worst thing. The guy has already shown he has no respect for his girlfriend, of course cheating wasn't far behind.
- all three women resolved to fight for their relationships. Considering what we had seen of the relationships (see above), I was left completely baffled as to why and it was irritating.
- a few scenes caused me secondhand embarrassment and I skimmed over them really quickly. Like Dee's breakfast thing she did in the middle.

This was a fun book but there were a few niggling things I wasn't a fan of. However, I think I would recommend for people who like this genre. 3.5 stars!

This was such a fun read and an ideal book to blow away the cobwebs of an autumnal day.

The author Debbie Viggiano, I’m sure, must have had such a fabulous time writing this novel as she has thrown in plenty of comedic scenes that literally had me chuckling out aloud.

Three best friends; Amber, Dee and Chrissie, all work for the same solicitors. They’ve all been courting for a fair while and are hoping that their relationships will move to the next level with their respective partners proposing soon. However, each girl hasn’t fully revealed the truth about their current love situation. Their boyfriends of late haven’t been quite as committed as Amber, Dee and Chrissie would like and the girls are all starting to feel a little downtrodden. When the trio are invited to a psychic party they leap at the chance so they can ask ‘Madam Rose’ the question of whether their boyfriends will soon be popping the question. Madam Rosa reveals a little more than what the trio wanted. They all go home on a mission to prove the psychic wrong leading to quite hilarious consequences.

The author took me on a lively little journey with the trio facing hurdles and more in their love life. It was a fabulously funny, flirty romance. I personally would have liked the author to expand a little more at the end of the story as I felt it ended a little abruptly but this did not spoil my overall enjoyment and it was a joy to read.

Ugh what a terrible book! What self respecting woman would read this in today's age and enjoy it? The entire premise of the book is about three absolute doormats of women who are so desperate to keep their useless, cheating and abusive men that they will overlook absolutely anything, just so they can get married. I mean, wow! You can't even pity a character like that, that's not girl power in the slightest. And despite all three being soooooo head over heels in love with their 'men', each one very swiftly moves on as soon as a replacement is found, literally a day or two after the break up of the first relationship. Oh I'm sorry, weren't you just crying your eyes out for the same abusive bloke and wanted to marry him but suddenly there's a new guy on the scene so it's 'karma time' and 'revenge'. So silly. What does that make the characters sound like to me? They sound like desperate women who only feel a sense of fulfillment when they have a man in their life - and any man will do. Kind of a sad example for a book to be setting out there. The whole book is a joke, don't even get me started on the droning on in some areas and going off topic, almost like a 12 year old's diary. Having said that it an easy, quick read, literally something that requires zero brain power or concentration.

The book follows he stories of a group of women who are both coworkers and friends. Each of them in a less than satisfying relationship. Each of them hoping this will be the year they will finally get engaged. As they navigate their way through the every day drudgery of their office jobs, they find time to support each other through personal issues as well. The office cougar invites them to her birthday party, and they decide to go only because a fortune teller will be there, and they all want to ask her about the future of their relationships. After the fortune teller reveals some not so sugar coated news to each of the friends, they all find themselves facing drama and needing some support.

This book is funny, heartwarming, and enchanting. You'll love certain characters, hate others, and you'll be rooting for your favorites as the story progresses! A great way to spend your down time when you have it!

There's literally nothing not to like in this fast-paced tale of three women who all discover their partners are cheating scumbags. The stories are nicely woven into a threefold braid, and the weave is handled smoothly; there's never any sensation of jumping about despite the multiple POVs.

What gave the book a special touch for me was the sharp, pungent humour, which sparks off every page and lifts the work far above the usual run of chicklit. These women are real Englishwomen, really relatable characters, and there is not a simpering 'romantic heroine' among them - just solid, down-to-earth, real people.

The action moves at a smooth pace, and all around this is the work of a seasoned, professional writer. I was delighted with the quality; I did not find any of the proofing glitches or grammatical stumbles that are, alas, all too common nowadays. A first-class piece of work, and I look forward to reading more from this author.

Perfect for a lazy afternoon!

2.5 stars, but unfortunately, goodreads still doesn't have the ability to put half stars 😕
I have to say this just wasn't really for me, when I read books i prefer them to take me away from everyday life and issues that the real world has, and this just didn't do that at all. The women for 50 or so percent of the book acted like damsels in distress with idiotic misogynistic lying cheating boyfriends that they just couldn't leave because they just loved them sooooo much ( yawn 😴) they were getting on my nerves.I have to say by the time they had decided to buck their ideas up and finally leave the men who were treating them like doormats I just didn't care enough, i finished it only because i didnt want to have wasted my time reading something that i didnt finish, but i just didnt care unfortunately.

Hopefully, my next read will be better 🤞🏼

Happy reading, everyone 📚 ☺️

Complete in record time, I delayed reading this one thinking is it really me as not enjoyed a previous book. This one though is amazing and kind of magical in a weird kind of way.

If need lots of laughs to cheer you up, this one is for you. There are so many funny scenes from Amber, she is one of the 3 girls with relationship issues and says things without thinking what is being said which is hilarious in some cases. The 3 girls Amber, Chrissie and Dee work together and eventually share there difficulties. On a girly night out there see a fortune teller, thinking it’s a load of rubbish but everything eventually comes together and not how you would think.

My only complaint is it needed a little bit more, as came to an end too quickly.

I found this book a good read. The three main characters came across real enough and at times the humour made me laugh out loud. Debbie Viggiano has a skill in writing humour. The story is about three friends, who all have relaltionship problems, but are in denial at the seriousness of them. Their main ambition is to be married, until they meet at Clairvoyant at a party, and who gives them a short reading. The results of which sends all of them into a frenzy. The upshot from this is they start seeing their partners in a different light and the story moves on to how they deal as a group with how to proceed. A happy ending.

A witty morality tale about three twenty-something friends. All in long-term relationships and waiting for proposals, their plans are completely derailed by the predictions of a clairvoyant and the behaviour of their boyfriends. The story moves quickly and concludes that not achieving your goal can sometimes lead to a better outcome than you ever thought possible. The flow of the story suffers a little, however, from having the three stories all taking place at the same time and there are a few editorial bloopers that spoil the slickness of it all.

Really is Funny!

Adding Debbie Viggiano to the top of my list for authors! For once a book that is actually hilarious. I get tired of reading captions for books saying laugh out loud, and then reading them to discover that there wasn't much to even smile about let lone laugh. The characters were so realistic I could see myself and my friends wanting to hang out with these gals.

This is the second book I’ve read by Debbie and I thoroughly enjoyed it. 40+ short easy to read chapters that make you want to keep reading. There’s a lovely relationship between the three girls all with typical and sometimes outrageous female personality traits. The story is a mix of humour and often sadness related to the girl’s relationships. There’s obviously a happy ending giving it feel good factor. Free on Kindle Unlimited.

Whatever I may say about this book will never do it any justice: this is top comedy, first class entertainment and an absolute pleasure to read!
I keep saying so, every time I read a new Debbie Viggiano's book, but she has outdone herself again! One of the best romantic comedies I've read this year, I'd love to see a film made out of it!

I love Debbie's books and have now read nearly all of them. "The Woman Who Knew Everything" was a really interesting story with a wonderful ending! It drew me in during the first few pages - which is what I always look for in a good book - and I had difficulty putting it down. A very well-written book with lots of humour, and I would highly recommend it.

Typical DV book - lots of laughs

This is a good book, although at times it seems a bit too facile - things for together a little too

Altho real life hardly ever goes so smoothly, this author makes it feel as though it just might some day soon. A good way to pass a few hours on a snowy day.

I really enjoyed reading this.
Only issue was that it got cut short, would of loved to know how their new relationships would develop and how Amber, Chrissie and Dee progressed their friendship.

I was pretty down heartened when it skipped to ‘One Year On’. I thought the author could of written I little bit more.

Hillarious lighthearted story, this was a funny lighthearted book that captured my interest and kept me laughing all the way through. One of those books you just smile and dont want to end. I think many women can relate to this and to be honest I'd imagine men too definayely worth your time!

The book was fine, but I think what grates me is that these women were obviously in terrible relationship but they all blissfully ignored all signs and internal warnings and aimed for marriage. Is it a given than any woman above 25 aims for a ring without having the braincells to spot red flags all over?? I hated this little fact, and it made the story less enjoyable for me.

Nice fun story.

It’s not going to break boundaries but it made me chuckle.

Performed well.

It’s all relatively happy endings.

The main issue is repetition - 3 affairs?, 3 whirlwind engagements and 3 partners that all were selfish assholes.

I think variety would have made it stronger.

But all in all it was an easy and comforting book to enjoy.

The story was ok. I don't know how these characters were so oblivious and content to be treated as they were by their boyfriends. I was satisfied by the little wrap up with how things turned with the what goes around comes around saying proving true.
