THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE UGLY
Another great addition to the Alpha Male Master series where each book reads as a standalone, and they can be read in any order. The story has a great cast of characters, plenty of angst, intense moments, mystery and suspense, action, and a dominant man along with a feisty woman.
Brandy Coleman took an inheritance and found herself the perfect piece of property and started her own business, Rainbow’s End Ranch, a place for retired horses. The property came with a couple of homes, barns, outbuildings, and plenty of work to keep it going. She also has one dog, a retriever named Lola.
The plot will have Brandy at an impasse when she must confront Josh about missing items. He is stunned at her accusations and rather than her firing him, he quits. Logan Scott will show up to apply for the job, but he is on a mission, one to try and clear his best friend’s name. “I’m living a nightmare, and you’re the monster under the bed.” What he finds is Brandy in over her head in work and definitely needing help. The one thing he wasn’t counting on was the instant sexual chemistry between her and him.
As threatening phone calls have Brandy upset, Logan will learn that she is being harassed to sell her property or else and he doesn’t take well to threats. They agree to bring Josh back to the ranch and Logan will longer be a ranch hand, but personal bodyguard and protector. “Nothin’ worse than waitin’ for the hammer to fall.”
They will escalate to include a D/s relationship, and Logan will have his hands full with Brandy. She will do some things that will place her in danger after she was warned and made a promise to stay at home. “I think bratty Brandy got what she deserved, and there’s more where that came from if she doesn’t behave.”
The threats are real, the warnings are dire, the danger is lurking, and Logan, along with another cowboy are trying to get answers before someone gets hurt. When Brandy disobeys Logan, what will happen to their newfound relationship? Can she accept his dominance full time or just for fun in the bedroom?
The story has mystery, suspense, danger, life and death situations, accepting responsibility for your actions, seeking forgiveness, and even unexpected surprises. There is several spankings, fun and punishment, some BDSM scenes, and an erotic dinner. Two people, both with similar desires, finding each other and making it work.

Rainbow's End Horse Ranch
Loved this ranch where Brandy runs her horse ranch with hired help Josh, until she finds that Josh has been stealing from her.
Along comes Logan looking to get hired at Rainbow's End and with Josh having been fired, Brandy needs help for sure.
We find that Logan is a dominant and seems to push all Brandy's buttons, being a submissive in the past.
All hell breaks loose as someone is trying to buy the ranch and has started making threats.
Logan becomes Brandy's body guard and through some found items and a misunderstanding, Josh is brought back to work at the ranch while the three of them try to solve the mystery of who is threatening Brandy and even tries to poison her beloved dog!
We get to read through to solving problems and figuring out how their D/s relationship will work out and get our HEA in the end.
I thoroughly enjoyed all the ups and downs and of course great sex with restraints and domination as Brandy gets her heart's desire.

Brandy struggles to keep her ranch going after she fired her only ranch hand. Then Logan turns up and offers his help. Right from the beginning the sparks are flying. Brandy tends to overreact and jump to the wrong conclusions and Logan knows exactly how to cure that behavior. When Brandy is threatened to sell the ranch, Logan declares he'll be her bodyguard from now on.
The chemistry between Brandy and Logan is scorching. The intimate moments were explicit and held plenty of heat. I was captivated from start to finish and loved the book. A hot, dominant cowboy, a feisty submissive, horses, an adorable dog, suspense, danger, steamy romance ... what else do you need?
One of my favorite scenes:
"You ready to feel the heat of my hand?"
Brandy's stomach flipped. It felt like forever since her bottom had been slapped, and with her butterflies transforming into wild dust-devils, she closed her fingers into fists and squeaked out her reply.

What an intense thriller! All the angst, and drama along with an unlikely scenario with her hired help. Her in this storyline is Brandy, the owner of "Rainbow's End Ranch". There are twists and turns in the plotline and Maggie Carpenter lets us know who and what is going on, but the emotional pull of the characters makes this thrilling. Not only that, they have instant chemistry which involved quite a bit of honesty and some mutual kink. Oh, did I tell you Logan has a penchant for spanking and Brandy has a habit of flying off the handle and making assumptions before knowing all the facts? They're a perfect match for each other. This was such a great read. I hadn't realized there was an entire series called "Alpha Male Master" and this is book four. If you know anything about me from my reviews, you'll know I'm going to need to backtrack and read the first three books.

Who's up for some domination by a sexy cowboy? Brandy is! Her ranch for retired horses is running low on money and someone's threatening her to make her sell the property. Her new ranch hand Logan is the kind of man she needs to take HER in hand and that's just what he does when he appoints himself her bodyguard after finding out she's being threatened. Will Brandy and Logan save the ranch? Will Brandy be able to sit down after all the spankings Logan gives her? These characters have a lot of chemistry in this steamy, sexy romance. I really enjoyed it. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Oh my gosh be ready for a hot book. This story is Logan and Brandy's story. I love a good cowboy book and this one was up there. Brandy fires her help because she thought he stole. Logan enters the picture and he is saving her from the drug dealer wanting to buy her place. The chemistry is hot, and the way she challenges him will leave you laughing at times.
Maggie Carpenter is an awesome writter. She knows how to hook you and keep you wanting more. I have her on my must read list.

Install be domestic discipline romance. Brandi owns a ranch where the debt is rapidly mounting. She has no talent at the business end of ranching. She has a tendency to fly off the handle with no evidence to support her case.
In walks dominant Logan, who instantly recognizes Brandi's submissive nature. Logan takes Brandi and her life in hand.
Add in a bit of rapidly played out mystery, suspense, and intrigue, and you get a pretty decent read.

This is the first book that I’ve read by Maggie Carpenter and while this book is the fourth book in the series it can be read completely as a stand alone. In fact if the title didn’t indicate it was a part of a series, I would not have known. There are some characters in the story that seemed to have been talked about before, but nothing that gave the indication that you were catching up with them, so yes, you can read it and not feel like you have spoiled anything from the previous books in the story.
I am not sure how I feel about the female character, Brandy. I like her yet, I don’t like her, is the best way to describe it. I didn’t feel the connection between Brandy and Logan like I expected I would either. While I was able to forget about real life for a time, I wasn’t desperate to want to get back to the book. I loved that synopsis of the book indicated there was going to be suspense as I love the romantic suspense books, but I didn’t really find that this book had that. Things were revealed too early in the story and too many of the events were predictable. Yes, there was a surprise or two, but not enough for me to call it a romantic suspense book. I read and review this book for KFA. I am willing in the future to read something more from this author.

A beautifully written story with some great characters. It has unique twists and turns that I did not see coming but they heightened the plot, tension and intrigue. I really liked the idea of a rescue ranch for retired horses. Ms. Carpenter has outdone herself with this hot, sexy western.

Maggie Carpenter is a new to me author. I took advantage of the Kindle Unlimited Read/Listen feature. I really enjoyed listening to this suspenseful cowboy romance with sexy dominant scenes, and enjoyable characters. I look forward to reading/listening to other books by this author.

This was an excellent story, with romance and enough suspense to keep things moving without being too hair-raising! I enjoyed all of the characters, and I loved the HEA!

It was a cute short read. Little bit gangster, horses and cowboys. Nothing dark. The story moved. No lingering miscommunication.

This came up in my library's audiobooks: available now.
Cowboy bodyguard sounded ridiculous & I wanted a ridiculous read so I borrowed it.
Did not see this was an alpha-male series since the thumbnail was so tiny.
The woman in it is unbelievably stupid & loves to bake.
Logan is rich & doesn't need a paycheck to help on her rescue so he will take "payment in cookies."
I was driving so I figured I'd let the story play until I got home to return it.
But then, when they were getting it on, Logan "agitated her magic nub" & I quit.
One hour & 36 mins of audio on 2x speed was more than enough.
So bad all around.

Brandy bought a farm and named it Rainbows End. When she found things going missing she wrongly accused Josh of stealing them Saying that since they were the only two on the property and it wasn’t her it had yo be him. Josh left and went to Tall Pines where Logan Scott lived Logan was lived to think his friend was accused of stealing when he an honest man. So Logan goes and asks for a job. Brandy hires him and he moves into the hands house. He clears up the stealing mystery and Josh comes back to work for her. She is receiving threatening phone call from a solicitor to try and get her to sell the ranch. This is a mixture of Dominant and submissive , intrigue and threats the book will keep you reading until the end.

I was pleasantly surprised that this book had many plot twists. It had me hooked from beginning to end. I enjoyed this book. I look forward to reading more by Maggie Carpenter.
