U.S. Navy SEAL Ashe “Kid Chaos” Wilder doesn’t do sedate, so packing a novel and namby-pamby sunscreen for a Caribbean vacation doesn’t float his boat. Instead, he’s going to ride down the world’s most dangerous road on a mountain bike through the treacherous Andes in the wilds of Bolivia. His now ex-girlfriend thinks that he is much too crazy for her, and, sadly Ashe hasn’t found the right woman to understand or tolerate his daredevil proclivities until he runs smack dab into Paige Sinclair. She’s not only as audacious as he is, but their chemistry is off the charts.
NCIS agent Paige Sinclair is undercover in La Paz, Bolivia. She’s been tasked with investigating one of the co-owners, a former CIA operator, of a tour company for his possible involvement in arms theft that left two MPs dead. When she meets Ashe, and sparks fly, she loses her head and has a thing with him, not expecting it would go anywhere, her job took up all her time. Except when the investigation heats up, she’s thrilled to have a well-trained Navy SEAL covering her back. As they join in battle to find the weapons and stop the bad guys from selling them to terrorists, those sparks turn into a flame that could heat up the Andes.
Zoe Dawson, the author of 40+ books had always dreamed of becoming a full-time romance writer. Her other passions include traveling the world, owning a beach house (she believes she was a mermaid in another life), and seeing her books in movies. When she’s not writing, she’s painting or killing virtual MMORPG monsters in World of Warcraft. She lives in North Carolina with her two grown children and one small, furry gray cat.
4.5 - Disarming her seemed to be this mans specialty... Stars!
Zoe Dawson returns to the SEAL Team Alpha series, with another absolutely kick-ass story. Like its predecessor, Kid Chaos hit the ground running and didn’t slow down until the epilogue.
We were given great introduction to Ashe ‘Kid Chaos’ Wilder in the previous book, and the story initially takes the reader back to the mission in Darién Gap, with Ruckus and the rest of the SEAL Team returning to the US for some downtime. Ashe returns to an empty apartment and an ex-girlfriend who is already engaged to someone else, not as you can imagine what he was expecting. His leave turns into one long mission to get over another failed relationship.
"Have you ever pulled the trigger while looking a man in the eyes..?"
I really felt for him, the happy-go-lucky, baby-faced sniper you quickly learn is more than just a pretty face and looking for a bit of adrenaline fueled r-n-r in Bolivia soon brings all those skills to the fore when he inadvertently stumbles into the middle of NCIS Agent, Paige Sinclair’s investigation into stolen guns and the men wanting them.
"I think you really need to mind your own business."
"I was never really good at that."
I absolutely adored these two together, and the story that develops around them reminded me of a well-crafted Indiana Jones type adventure, only Paige was definitely not a damsel in distress, as confident as Kid is, with her own skill set when it came to dealing with the bad guys these two together were an absolute thrill a minute read.
"Don’t tell me what to do unless you’re naked."
Another thing I loved was the addition of POV from Cowboy’s perspective. Another one of Kid’s team members as well as his best friend, Zoe has really set things up well for the next book, which incidentally is his, and I cannot wait for its release next month. The SEAL Team Alpha series with only two books to its name, is already becoming one of my favorites.
"You call the shots… I’ll follow orders."

Kid Chaos by Zoe Dawson Book #2: SEAL Team Alpha Series Source: ARC from author and purchase My Rating: 5/5 stars My Review:
They don’t call him Kid Chaos for nothing!! He’s the youngest member of SEAL Team Alpha and Ashe Wilder certainly lives up to his call name. He is all wild energy, adrenaline junkie, badass with a mouth that sometimes just doesn’t know when to stop running. He works hard, proudly defends his country, and loves fiercely. The only real problem in Kid’s life is finding a woman who can love him as fiercely and loyally as he loves her. After two failed relationships, Kid has decided it may just not be in the cards for him.
Paige Sinclair isn’t interested in anything beyond her career. Since her mother left, when Paige was just a kid, Paige has become accustomed to hard work. She took over the raising of her brothers and caring for their home and then it became all about her career. Nose to the grindstone, a work ethic that is largely unmatched, and an iron will has led Paige to La Paz, Bolivia and on the trail of thieves will nothing but bad intentions. Two servicemen are dead and a cache of weapons are missing, and Paige is determined to see justice done. She’s two weeks into her undercover gig when Ashe Wilder walks into her life.
Ashe is sex on two legs and for the first time in as long as she can remember, Paige is interested. Though he’s in La Paz on vacation, Ashe is always a SEAL and always aware of his surroundings. Paige is certainly someone he is aware of and within the span of a day and a half, Ashe is also aware of brewing trouble. When Paige shows up in a place she shouldn’t be, the cards are placed on the table and suddenly a solo undercover mission becomes a duet with Ashe’s team made aware of his situation. When Paige begins to disclose all details of her mission, Ashe knows they are up against nearly insurmountable odds which is just where he excels! Though his call name is Kid Chaos, Kid knows how to handle himself in a bad situation and he uses his brand of crazy to his advantage. Additionally, as Paige begins to open up and trust Kid, she becomes important to him and jeopardizing her safety and/or life just isn’t an option.
The Bottom Line: By and large, I enjoyed every minute of this read and it had everything to do with Kid Chaos!! From the moment he opened his mouth in book one, Ruckus, I was #teamkid There’s very little that brings Kid down and he lives his life as if every day is his last day. He doesn’t pursue the extreme sports for the adrenaline rush, but for the experience and he is fiercely loyal. Paige taps into everything in Kid that is wild and chaotic and speaks to his soul. Paige brings a newfound strength to Kid’s life and proves to Kid that when you find the right person love and devotion are totally worth the risk. Oh, and if there’s some crazy extreme, someone’s trying to kill you business going on, all the better 😊
Danger keeps escalating in the second SEAL Team Alpha story, while romantic entanglements unexpectedly come into the lives of two focused individuals. The backgrounds of Ashe Wilder and Paige Sinclair are complex, and both have chosen risky careers. Neither is looking for anything permanent when they meet, as she is on an important assignment while he needs to unwind. But they have dedicated their lives to helping others, so when threats increase, they are ready to put themselves in jeopardy to make certain good wins over evil. Zoe Dawson makes her stories about SEALs and the women who come to love them captivatingly believable at all times. I never knew what would happen next, but I did know that it would be imaginative with lots of detail. KID CHAOS is highly entertaining with dangerous exploits and scorching passion.
While he was deployed on a long secret mission, the girlfriend of Ashe Wilder found someone new because the Navy SEAL was constantly gone. So when the soldier known as Kid Chaos returns to the states, he learns their relationship is over. The next time he gets some time off, he decides to do some bike riding in the Andes mountains of Bolivia. Ashe uses a tour company in the country to set up his excursion, and he is ready for some high-energy outings.
The woman who checks him in is actually a NCIS agent covertly working to discover if weapons stolen in the U.S. have ended up in this region plus learn of anyone linked to the theft. When Paige Sinclair meets a new client, there is a potent attraction between them. Though she realizes her full concentration needs to be on the assignment, she sure would like to enjoy a brief fling with the tempting man. When an incident reveals their true identities, Ashe is ready to assist Paige regardless of whatever challenge arises.
Easily a standalone story because of thorough explanations, KID CHAOS begins where the first book in the series ended. The camaraderie amongst the elite group of SEALs is very evident, as their bond is shown with friendly putdowns and loyalty. They work very well when on a mission, as each person understands their responsibility. Military stories are always a favorite, and Zoe Dawson knows how to make these courageous individuals come across as admirable and certainly genuine. Whether they are fighting an enemy or providing companionship for their fellow soldiers, their responses are realistic.
Getting to know Ashe was especially enjoyable, as he has the most outgoing personality. From comments to actions, this lively man had me feeling a connection and wanting him to find someone special. While he may appear to be in good spirits, inside he feels the loss of past relationships. Paige has never taken the time to get really close to a man, as she had other duties which seemed more crucial. But after coming in contact with Ashe, she starts to question much about her life, just as he comes to do, too. I definitely liked how Ms. Dawson made her romantic couple tough when needed, yet also vulnerable to real life experiences. The story has several hints about the next book, and it also appears the SEAL team has more perilous future missions.
I voluntarily reviewed the book and all comments are my honest opinion
Wow. Just wow. Kid Chaos is my favorite character of the team, I wanted to read his book since I read about him in Ruckus. I love his introspection, the way he isn't afraid to do a little insight on himself and also isn't afraid of his feelings. Fear, it's an important word in this book. Everyone of us experienced fear of some kind, I'd say it's almost sadly romantic to read such a well described man, big bad SEAL, lover of on-the-edge adventure ( the flying, crashing, sharpshooting, diving, killing CHAOS kind ), suffer through that kind of pain with a smile on his face, easygoing funny nature and protective instincts. What I most loved about him in book 1 was his need to protect his team: even being the youngest and on the surface the most reckless, the love he shows in his story was heartbreaking for me. Paige also is something else, his exact match: strong, funny, driven and SO Atlas ( *hint* ) it blows my mind. Can't wait to read about Cowboy, really great job, Zoe Dawson, I've had a hard time finding military suspense series I love, after falling head over heels for Susan Stoker and Dale Mayer heroes, but I was blown away from the beginning of Ruckus and from that, I haven't detached myself from the books yet. Also, this being quarantined in northern Italy for Covid-19 is helping me saving space for reading. Lucky me 😅
Over the course of my lifetime, I have read many romance books. Ranging from historical, erotica, paranormal, military and everything in between and I have a few favorite authors but I will now be adding Zoe Dawson to that list.
For me, it is all about how you tell the story. You could have a great plot and story but if not told properly it just turns out to be just an ordinary romance book and that is boring.
This is the second book of hers I have read and I just cannot say enough. The 1st one was “Ruckus” and I loved it. So I got the 2nd one “Kid Chaos” and it wasn’t a fluke, they are both outstanding.
She had made her characters so believable, fun and exasperating where I have laughed out loud, even got misty eyed. The story was so good, it felt like I was right there with them. I could actually picture it in my head. I could see it through the words.
The males are definitely all ALPHA but with heart and the women are tough as nail but still have all the soft parts intact.
I hate books that make the women cold hearted and hateful to try and make them tough in a man’s world. Real women aren’t like that and it gives us a bad rap.
The story is always in the eyes and imagination of the reader. Happy Reading.
Kid Chaos by Zoe Dawson SEAL Team Alpha Series Book Two Ashe “Kid Chaos” Wilder goes into the fight on full speed and full crazy and helps get the job done. He's too “pretty” for his own good. When he goes to Bolivia for a vacation...it turns into a mission.
Paige Sinclair is an undercover NCIS agent. She's working at a company that takes the guests down the dangerous mountain roads. She sticks behind the wheel of the van, where she can be in more control than flying down the mountain on two wheels.
Opposites definitely attract as Ashe's life really seems to bring chaos into everything while Paige likes things controlled. But when the sparks fly between her and Ash—she figures why not let go and have fun. After all, he's only here for a week and then she'll never see him again. Thanks to kidnappers, murderers, thieves, and whatever other nefarious crimes these people can commit...life turns very chaotic. **Sexual content and language http://justjudysjumbles.blogspot.com/...
Kid Chaos, book two in the Seal Team Alpha series....This book is chaos. Ashe "Kid Chaos' Wilder is the youngest member of the SEAL team, with his heart broken after the woman he thought he loved moved on with someone else, he isn't looking for love but sex. He'd had lot of it and alcohol. Seeking out a challenge, an adrenaline rush in Bolivia were he meets Paige, a tour guide but really she is an undercover NCIS agent who is undercover on an investigation. As soon as these two meet, there is chemistry and it's damn hot.
Thrown together after a near miss which draws them closer together and they journey together and find their HEA. I love Kid Chaos, so far this book has got to be my favorite in the series. I really love the friendship between Kid and Cowboy, it's really sweet and I can't wait to see what happens in Cowboy's book.
This book is action packed, steamy and it keeps you on your toes until the very last page. There is a lot of information in this book....I love SEALS! I can't wait to read the rest of them.
Paige has a job to do and doing well requires focus. Her life has gone as planned and she can practically taste her promotion until Chaos happens. Kid Chaos is second in Zoe Dawson’s Seal Team Alpha series. I enjoyed Ashe and Paige. Paige has be so focused on her job as an agent she hasn’t lived. Going undercover is the final piece necessary to secure a promotion but meeting Ashe shows her there is more to life than work. I love that Ashe helped Paige enjoy life even as she helped heal his emotional scars. Ms. Dawson allowed Paige and Ashe to be stronger together. Where Paige faltered, Ashe was there and vice versa. This was my first time reading Ms. Dawson’s work but it will not be the last. I thoroughly enjoyed the humor, loyalty, respect and love she brought to this story. It was well written and the characters felt real and believable. I can’t wait to return to this world Ms. Dawson has crafted.
If you want a recap of what the book is about, please read above the reviews.
The plot is an original one with the hero going on a break and finds himself in the middle of something involving the heroine. The heroine has guts and found herself with a bit more than she thought she would. The plot has different twists and turns than the normal way you would think it would go which was nice.
Both the heroine and hero are strong characters and end up depending upon each other to help the other out. You can feel the sizzle between the characters. You get to know both the main characters biggest flaws being their fathers. You can feel what they've been going through. You also get to know more about the guys on the SEAL team and how much they keep back even though they are a tight knit group. It makes you wonder what in store for the next story the in the series.
I loved this book! Kid was such a great, different for me, hero. I had to suspend disbelief a little bit with some of the action scenes. But with the way his characters was set up, being pretty much a daredevil rebel (as if being a badass SEAL wasn't enough), I totally bought and loved some of the larger-than-life action moments. And yet, there was still some vulnerable little boy buried deep inside him. I could see this as a movie as I read it. And Paige was his equal--maybe not in terms of action (although she could hold her own), but certainly in terms of spirit and dedication to the things that matter to them. Steamy, for sure, but emotional, as well. They both had some baggage the other helped them deal with. I'm feeling a little daunted by the length of this series, but I'm so glad Ms. Dawson's books were recommended to me. If you love steamy romantic suspense with lots of action, try them!
Romantic suspense at its best! I loved Kid Chaos and Paige's story! Ashe (Kid) has been badly hurt by the women he has "loved" in the past and isn't looking for a relationship. When he runs into Paige in Bolivia, sparks fly, but both of them are focused on other things. Ashe is on leave from his SEAL team and somehow finds trouble on his vacation. Paige is working undercover and when she finds out who Ashe is, he is pulled into her operation. These two have an awesome chemistry. The banter went from hilariously funny to sexy hot! Loved these two together as they both worked through some family issues and found themselves stronger together. The story was action packed and I loved Paige and Ashe's characters. This was another great read in this series! I can't wait to see which of our boys is next!
This is the second book in the Seal Team Alpha series. This is the story of Paige and Ashe, aka Kid Chaos. Paige is a strong, independent woman who has a blooming career with NCIS. She is working undercover to recover stolen arms and arrest the man responsible for theft and murder. Ashe, a Navy SEAL, needed a vacation after his last assignment took a toll on him mentally and physically. His high adventure vacation lands him right in the middle of Paige's current assignment. When they are together tensions run high and danger is close. What happens when everything you love in life is in danger? Can they make it through this together and work as a team or will fate step in and take them from each other? Loved this story!❤️
I voluntarily reviewed this ARC book. Great book, another in this wonderful series. This will make an excellent addition to my library. Kid just comes home from a long mission to find his girlfriend is engaged to another man. Heartbroken he gives up on a relationship lasting longer than one night. Paige is a young NCIS agent undercover trying to locate weapons that could kill her fellow soldiers. After having to raise her younger brothers following the death of her mother, she doesn't know what she really wants in life or a relationship. But after meeting Kid, she knows that she wants to stay with him as long as possible. But can Kid settle down and try another relationship or will past hurts tear them apart?
Kid Chaos.. is book two from Dawson's SEAL Team Alpha. Ashe aka Kid Chaos is the leading male, he loves a good adventure but that adventure better be biking dangerous terrain or jumping out of airplanes, he has a heart of gold but keeps picking the wrong woman. Well his lady bad luck will be ending soon when he meets Paige the NCIS investigator. She is strong, tell it how it is and take no bull kind of woman. Her and Kid will meet when he is on leave from the Navy and she is undercover for NCIS. Their chemistry is off the charts which makes sexy time between the sheets explosive. Something might start off temporary but it can turn into so much more. Book two of this series is hit. Happy Reading!!;
An NCIS Agent, Paige, and a Navy Seal, Kid Chaos, meet in La Paz, Bolivia. Paige was under cover and Kid Chaos was on vacation. When they met they and undeniable chemistry. Kid Chaos gets drawn into the undercover operation. Their story is full of suspense, action, twist and turns, decisions, lust, sexy scenes, and love. They both have demons from their growing up years that come to head in this book. Zoe Dawson has the amazing talent to start a book and raise her plot and characters off the chart. This book is an amazing read and I couldn’t put it down until I had finished it. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
Kid makes me laugh. I love his spirit and soul. Paige was given such a tough job after her mom walked out. She-did a great job of raising her brothers with her dad. She lived her life for everyone else at the expense of her own personal life. Paige is one tough cookie. A vacation for Kid interrupts a job for Paige and draws him into the mess. Chance meeting and fate bring these two together as soulmates. Lit of suspense and action. I was bothered about kid giving up coordinates. It was never said did he really compromise his team over Paige. They definitely went and stopped an ambush but what would have happened if those RPG HIT THE HELICOPTER? This was never addressesd
Kid and Paige explode off the pages with nonstop adventure, sass, banter, and blazing chemistry. From the moment they meet, it’s all heart-pounding glances and fiery sparks. Kid may be tough and a little unhinged, but the way he guards his heart—and eventually lets Paige in—absolutely melts you. Paige is pure grit, and it’s a thrill watching her take charge and claim her man.
The team camaraderie, humor, and unbreakable bonds are off the charts, adding richness and laughter to every chapter. Bullets fly, danger stalks, and lives hang in the balance as these two tumble headfirst into love. A wild, thrilling ride that’s as crazy as it is captivating.
The second in a hot series about hotter men, Kid Chaos is a solid read and a definite addition to your TBR pile!
Coming off a bad relationship Ashe isn't looking for love - but when he finds a woman who can stand toe-to-toe with him he takes on the challenge of not only their relationship but also keeping to his oath of protecting the innocent and standing for what's right! If you love action/adventure tales like Romancing the Stone and EVERY Indiana Jones movie, you'll snap this up right now!
My favorite of the Seals Alpha Team series. Kid Chaos falls into the middle of a NCIS investigation on his vacation. However, this hero is full of fun and you can't stop from laughing with him. He's fun, romantic, and tough as nails (even though he doesn't seem to realize he is human and can be hurt or killed). Enjoy Kid and Paige's journey through taking down a notorious international criminal while they fall in love. The beginning of the book is a bit slow-- or complicated as it describes the setting -- but getting through the "required" information is well worth it.
Ashe "Kid Chaos" Wilder and Paige Sinclaire were amazing together. Paige works for NCIS and Ashe was a Navy SEAL with instant attraction. Both looking for casual since Ashe had his heart broken twice and Paige was only work motivated. They come together over a job Paige was working and he is assigned to help out. Both have baggage but learn to listen to each other and be there for one another. How can they come out winners and be more than casual .
Another fast-paced, action-packed novel with plenty of steamy romance and great chemistry between the main characters. Likeable secondary characters too. I'm not a fan of writing that dwells too much on grisly details, and Dawson definitely doesn't do that. Sometimes it seems as if the SEALS have too easy of a time in combat, a bit unrealistic, but I'd rather have it that way than too much grisly stuff. Just like in the first book in the series, sometimes it's hard to tell who the speaker is in dialog. Otherwise the author has a good writing style.
Ashe, nicknamed Kid Chaos, was taking a little R&E in Peru to bike ride a thrilling downhill trek. Who knew he would find himself in the middle of a NCIS investigation and Cupid 's arrow? Recovering from a broken heart, he resigned himself to never finding a woman who could handle the deployment and dangers facing a Navy seal but he meets Paige at the bike shop and is stunned. Paige is undercover tracking stolen weapons and can't afford to be sidetracked by a fling. Bullets and sparks fly and who knew Cupid was a commando?
The author, Zoe Dawson, has struck gold again with another of her books in the Seal Team Alpha series. By sticking with what really works and appeals to the average reader - a story with the combination of action, adventure, military, mystery, romance, and oh yeah, lots and lots of wild hard hot sex, along with a lot relationship ups and downs. I am so looking forward to her next book in the series "Cowboy". This is a voluntary review of an Advanced Reader Copy of the book.
This is another great Seal book. The characters have the perfect amount of spark with each other. He is a Seal on vacation to get away from personal drama, she is NCIS agent on a mission. They collide and it's all action from there to the end. It is a page turner that I couldn't put down. The book is well written. This is looking to be a great series. I highly recommend. I can't wait until the next book in the series.
I loved this book I saw the part about a huge ranch in Galveston that another reader objected to. But reading it in context inside the story it seems like the writer did a great job of writing about a fictional Galveston. I love the way her descriptions of places. I felt like I was in the jungle riding the bike. My heart in my mouth. Can NOT wait to read up on Cowboy in the next book. I do live these SEALS
Wow this is one story that doesn't disappoint. When Paige first meets Kid the heat is instant. You know right away this one is going to be hot. Then Kid trips over a long row of mountain bikes causing a domino effect, I shouldn't have been drinking coffee at the time, of course I laughed so hard I spewed. This one keeps the suspense & intrigue constantly. I loved this one!
I enjoyed this next instalment of SEAL Team Alpha❣️
Kid Chaos is leaving all his chaos behind in the US and ventures to Bolivia for some adrenaline junkie adventures. When he arrives, his attention is focused immediately on Paige and vice versa. But it soon becomes clear Paige is not who she pretends to be and Kid finds himself embroiled in an NCIS investigation and not taking his much needed vacation🫠
A fast paced and thrilling story filled with twists and turns that keep you wondering what will happen next. Ashe know as Kid can't seem to hold onto a girlfriend because his job as a navy seal is too dangerous. Until he meets Paige the undercover NCIS agent and the sparks begin to fly. Read this exciting story today to see how it all turns out.
I got this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review
When I knew the second book of this serie was about Ashe "Kid Chaos" Wilder, I was extatic ! I was blown away by the story and Paige, WOW ! Zoe Dawson blew my mind ! It's definitly a must read, can't put down, leave you breathless and sleepless book !
Can't wait for Cowboy's book, I have a feeling it's gonna be awesome....
