I really enjoyed this paranormal mystery! Some of the things I liked about it were it takes in New Orleans, one of my favorite cities, and on the outskirts of New Orleans in an old farm house. I also liked the suspenseful plot. Payton is a young woman with recurring nightmares that knows something awful happened years ago when she a child, but she doesn't remember what. Joel is a man also haunted by the past that he can't forget. To add to the intensity of the suspense a serial killer is on the loose. This is a book that will keep you up at night reading it to finish or at least it did me. I recommend it to the reading community and look forward to reading more by Piper Templeton.
Instead of a biographical paragraph or two, I thought I'd borrow the questions that James Lipton from "Inside the Actors' Studio" poses at the end of each interview. They're a fun way to share a little bit about myself so here goes:

10. If heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the pearly gates?
"Welcome. You've earned entry here, you'll see loved ones, you'll watch over loved ones, and you'll experience a peace of mind like you did in that dream one time, like nothing you can find on earth."
A few additional notes:
I was born in a New Orleans subdivision in 1964, one month after the Beatles arrived in America. My mother maintains that as an alert newborn, I took note of the cover of Look Magazine that featured the Fab Four, and it sparked a passion for the group that stays to this day.
I've loved to read since I can remember -- classic literature, mystery, psychological thrillers, contemporary adult,character-driven novels and short stories, and plays.
I pursue my passion for writing as I earn my living in the Louisiana Judiciary System.
