Well that was different. I seriously don't know how to review this story so I'll tell you what I think.

Positives- I've not read a storyline like this before. I read it in one sitting. I literally could not put it down. I needed to see what was going to happen. When I thought the story was gonna go one way it swiftly changed, went in another direction and messed with my head.

Negatives- I didn't like the characters. It could be just me or the way the author wanted her characters portrayed but there wasn't one character I rooted for. Now as I'm sitting here writing this review I'm thinking this is the kinda book that I won't lose sleep over not liking the characters.
I didn't like the ending but since finishing the book I can't really think of another way it could end.

This book has me conflicted. It's been a while since that happened. The positives outweigh my negatives. The storyline was unique with plenty of twists and it was well written. I read this in one sitting so can't mark this anything but a four star.

Well done to the author. I'm looking forward to reading more from this author:)

Wow. This was quite a ride. When I read the title blurb I saw the "erotic" part but somehow I must have missed the "dark and twisted" part, but before this one ended I sure remembered.

The plot started out as a bit nonsensical. Three married couples are all having marital issues for various reasons, and decide to swing as a way to save their marriages. Yeah, a red light went off immediately as swinging is like the last thing couples having issues should try. However, by the end of the book it all made sense (in a really twisted way) and I have to give the author a ton of credit for the twist because I never saw it coming.

One issue I had is that there was only one character (Roxie) that I had any type of sympathy for because the others were all jerks or nuts, and in most cases, both. The way this thing turned near the end was so unexpected, even though I really found the ending a little dark for me personally. But as I said, it's not like the author didn't warn me.

There was several sex scenes although I didn't find that to be the strength of the book, it was more the plot twists. I will say this could be the kind of book you may want to put down because at times the characters act too nutty to be realistic, but the payoff makes it all worth it.

This isn't my usual read but my hat's off to the author for crafting something shocking and surprising, and that's not as easy to pull off as it sounds.

I think this book would make a really great movie, an erotic thriller ala the days of "skinimax." If you like dark and twisted erotic thrillers, this one is worth your time.

Kyla Ross boldly dives into the relationships of three couples and unravels the motivations and goals that drive them, not hesitating from describing flawed characters a reader might shy away from.
The unique storyline is what draws one in and the well crafted narration navigates easily through this dark and twisted thriller.

I read that the genre was a dark and twisted thriller, I was sold immediately; it’s my favourite genre. I will say it's not the darkest I've read but it was definitely a little dark and very twisted.

If I had looked at the title first I am not sure it would have been one I would have chosen, so I'm really thankful it was the synopsis that I read first. I really enjoyed this story; the way it was written was perfect. It opened my eyes to one or two things that’s for sure. There were a few twists along the way and a turn in the story that I really was not expecting!

The characters were great and played their parts very well, although there was a few of them I wasn't keen on, they were a huge part to the story. I loved that I thought I knew what was going to happen with these three couples, but the author turned it right round and totally blew my assumptions out of the water!

This is a new author for me, but definitely one I'll be looking up. I need to see what other journey's she can take me on!

Holy Chit!! I couldn't put it down -
An absolutely riveting spine tingling thriller -
Ross threw out one twisted turn after another!
You thought you knew what was happening -
You were so sure of what direction this was going -
Heck, you may even have thought to stop reading in the beginning because " this isn't the way it works" - it's okay I'll admit I hesitated a couple times in the beginning -
but that is the beauty of a good thriller -
It should question your instincts - raise those little hairs on your arms - have you screaming in your mind "This is not the way it works" -
Three married couples looking for a way to salvage what they once had - a beautiful story about forgiveness and reconciliation -Or not

Looking for a book that will send you spiraling into the darkest most depraved thoughts and actions of the human psyche -
look no further -

Not for the faint of heart - 18+ only

Whoa this book was definitely different and totally not what I was expecting.

This was one of those books that had twists and turns that had you double guessing yourself. Sometimes I felt like I had to do like a double-take because the chapter took me for a loop. I mean, I swear at times I felt like I was on one of those scary roller coasters with this book.

It definitely had me at the edge of my seat. A complete and utterly great thriller with a lot of suspense and many turns that you never saw coming.

The ending was a bit different from what I'm used to with my cushy little HEA's but this one had one twisted ending. But in the end, everything happens for a reason!

I totally loved this book because it was different, nothing from what I was expecting and it had me glued to my device from beginning to end. This was definitely a page-turner.

4.5 star read!

This is the first time I have read any of this authors work, and it will definitely not be the last! This story is about three married couples whose marriages are in trouble, and they decide to spice things up and try different things. But are they all on the same page with this idea? This story is thrilling, hot, erotic, dark, and has secrets and twists, as well as mind games which kept me hooked and intrigued from the very beginning. I look forward to reading more of this author’s work. Great work Kyla!

Big Twists!

Mark & Casey, Blain & Roxie, and John & Lillian decide to swing because of Casey having an affair. Thinking that this will help with their marriage. Mark, Blain, and John are brothers from a fraternity and work with each other as successful accountants. Things seem to be going ok between Mark & Roxie and Blain & Lillian. As for Casey, she is living a nightmare with John. Things take a huge turn towards the end of the book. I really wasn't expecting the crazy twist that happens. I absolutely loved it!

Shocking!!

I'm not one to read erotic fiction so be warned, if you don't like it, don't go any further. Having said that, this was one of the most intriguing stories I've read in a long time. Let's say the swinging is very dark, especially the end game. I will remember this book for a long time and will recommend it to the women I know that will read it. Shocking ending.

Dark, twisted and unexpected

Blain, John and Mark meet in college as roommates and live goes from there tied together. They become frat brothers then working together. Then they all get married and everything become as twisted as can be. The storyline goes left field and you won't see it coming

More of a thriller/mystery

Billed as an erotic thriller, I expected more naughty bits. Good story but the characters were a little flat. Well written and well edited. Good quick read.

I’m afraid I didn’t enjoy this at all. I’d already guessed the plot-twist about a quarter of the way through, the characters were shallow, the dialogue stilted, and I didn’t find the story remotely erotic. I’ll stick to the horror/thrillers she writes, I think.

Warning: This review was written through the process of reading the book, so it's going to read a bit unusual.

I’m only halfway through, and this book is making me shake with so much anger. I don’t usually start my reviews now, but this book warrants my thoughts being put down immediately.

I didn’t know this book would be like this. I thought it would be about a bunch of college guys, testing the waters with their women, and something about their friendships. Oh no, they are way out of college, all married and, as the title tells you, they decide to swing…with each other’s wives. It’s a mess from the start.

I have officially named the couples: beotch wife and sadistic husband, cheating wife and good husband, and cheating husband and good wife. (I feel like that gives away part of the book, but you learn fast who is who.) What a pair they all make, right? I’m telling you, it’s a mess. An ugly, make you so angry and upset for the good ones mess! Beotch wife has just made a big error, and I can’t wait to see what happens to her. More to come!

Update: I finished the book and my mind is blown. I did NOT see that end coming. Wow. Just W.O.W! I can’t even say anything else without giving more away.

When We Swing was fabulous! It’s not my typical read, but I’m so glad I read it. Thriller at its finest! Book hangover. I need to take some time to compartmentalize what I just read.

When We Swing was a great 5 star read.

We have three couples that have decided to try something different to get the spice back in their marriages, however it’s not all it’s cracked up to be, not everyone is on board with it.

Casey, Mark
John, Lilian
Blain, Roxie

Some scenes are very hot and erotic. There are secrets and unexpected twists. You really get to know all of them and all I can say is I really came to dislike a couple of them because of their beliefs or how they treated their spouse. My heart also went out to a couple of others that were doing it in hopes that it would fix their problems, but can that really solve all their issues?
All of the characters added a great element to the story and made it very interesting.

Do as I say, not as I do

This is my first read from Kyla Ross and it’s definitely not my last. You get pulled right into the story and you don’t want to stop until your done. And just when you think you know what’s going to happen you find out that you were totally wrong. There are some scenes that could be a trigger for some. I love dark thrillers and this hit the mark for me. I look forward to reading more from this author.

I'm not sure what I just read and how I feel about it. This book is not like I would normally read and very different from what I expected from the blurb. The actual plot was good but I found it took a long time for the story to get going.

If you are into more thriller than erotica this may be a book for you.

Part 3 blew me away, I definitely didn't expect the direction this story took in the end.
