Caden Alexander and Isabella Castle have lived down the road from each other for years..
Just as the two decide to stop denying their feelings for one another, Bella discovers Caden and her brother Landon have enlisted in the Marine Corps.
Vowing to make things work while Caden is deployed, they begin writing letters to each other.
When faced with a death he can’t handle, Caden pulls away from Bella, swearing to never read another letter, regardless of what they might contain. Even though Caden stops all communication with Bella, she continues writing to him.
They say time heals all wounds, but will Caden find the courage to read those letters, or will he walk away, never knowing what is waiting for him at home?
In the earlier books you get to meet Caden, a young kid who has a tough life in foster homes and you get a glimpse of his strength. I'm so glad I got to read HIS story! He is even more amazing as a young man as he was in the earlier books. Caden is in love, his heart belongs to Bella. Bella is his perfect girl... beauty, innocent, and loves him as much as he loves her! He's the popular guy and she's not. Being best friends with her brother can make it tough but she's all he's ever wanted and he'll prove it. Isabella, Izzy, to everyone but Caden, is a sweet girl living through a nightmare. She's a foster kid who has finally been place with her brother, Landon. She has been in love with Caden but when he tells her she's his girl she's afraid. She knows the other kids at school will make her life miserable. When they get together she's happy that he lets everyone know he's proud to be with his "Bella". You get to see their love grow and mature as they do in this book. When she loses her brother I cried! I really loved Landon and Jodi.. but I'm thinking I need Charlie and Jodie's story! 😉😉😉 This book has it all and you're gonna love the journey!❤❤❤
I absolutely loved Letters to Caden!!! It pulled at my heart strings from page one. I have been waiting for this book to come out and omg I was not disappointed one bit. I read different types of books especially romance and 9 times out of ten it's just all about cheating and sex but Nessie’s books have an actual storyline of love and compassion that most dont, they have all the feels. I can feel the pain that the characters go through but also their joy. By far this is my favorite book, I loved the others too in her Why Series but it was something about Caden and Bella that won't let me pull away. I hope to see more from these characters and definitely more from Nessie Wallace! I wish I could give it more than 5 stars, a must read for everyone!
I’ll be honest and say that I struggled with this story in the beginning. I don’t know if it was the characters that I wasn’t connecting with, or the dialogue. But.. I kept going in hopes that as they both got older I’d enjoy it more. I’m happy to say that in the end, it turned out to be a good story. This was the first book that I’ve read from Nessie Wallace that had me shedding a few tears. There was one main event that took place that I wish didn’t happen. But other then that, I’m so happy that Caden got his H.E.A!
My absolute most favorite yet by Nessie. Caden’s story will make you smile, laugh and cry, possibly all on the same page! Your heart will go through the wringer, so get the wine and Kleenex and prepare yourself for an emotional rollercoaster of a read!
What do you do when the only man you have ever loved breaks your heart?....you wait for him to come home, at least this what Bella does. Doo u loved this book but I'm not in love with it, I really loved the storyline but I felt the leading up to details were great but long. Then the parts that were emotional were rushed through or brushed over. I wish Jodi would have been a little more conflicted. I wish Caden worked harder and I wish Bella would have stood up for herself more but ultimately I loved the way it ended.
Omg. I had a love hate relationship with Nessie on this one. I couldn't put it down. Every chance I had to read I took it. I highly recommend this whole series. Definitely looking forward to reading the next one (No pressure Nessie 😉) 😍😍😍😍
Letters to Caden is a beautiful and heartwarming story of overcoming obstacles and allowing yourself to love. It is a spinoff from her earlier books when Caden was a child in foster care but it can be read as a standalone. The beginning was a bit slow for me but because the characters were young adults, it didn't bother me and as the story progressed, I found myself enthralled. This is not an easy story with a perfect happily ever after. It's real and raw while giving you an inside look at some of the horrors and pain that foster children face. Character development was very nice and there was a good depth to them. Caden is a boy, and then a man, you just WANT to find happiness. Bella is a beautiful soul who endures far more pain and heartache than anyone should. Nessie Wallace writes with heart and it is very evident in her words. If you're looking for an author and a book (the whole series really) that will give you the romance you crave and the "feels", this is a book for you. Solid 4.5 stars from me!
