New York Times bestselling author Molly McAdams brings her dark suspense series to a close with Nightshade, the final installment of the Redemption series.
Kieran is the mob’s assassin, trained from a young age to be a monster. They own him. After seemingly losing everything, Kieran has hardened his heart to all emotion, especially love. Then Jessica swoops in like a tornado and flips his life off its axis. With her, his feelings are like a spreading wildfire and it is bound to consume them both.
We first met Kieran in Firefly and I fell for him immediately. Yeah ok, he was a bit of a jerk, but I love the tough bad boys, the ones that believe they do not need anyone or they are trying to protect themselves or someone else from hurt. When those men fall they fall hard and not without a fight. Kieran was a fighter, and it made for such a wonderful surrender when he finally gave in. He had to lose what he thought he wanted to find what he needed, Jessica. This girl is a force of nature all her own, but somehow manages to fit perfectly with Kieran. They help each other overcome the darkness that has taken them over.
This has been an excellent series to read. Anyone that has not read Molly should pick it up immediately. All the books are standalones, but in my opinion, you should read them in order because characters appear in other books, and because they are great books to read. Sometimes the genre of romantic suspense can get a little predictable. That was not the case with Nightshade or the other books in this series. They were original and truly well written. They gave a softer side to the bad boy mobsters than we as readers as used to, making them more human and more relatable, while maintaining the dark sinister feel of the mobster persona. Five stars yet again!!
