Why do I listen to stupidity?

I have liked a few of this authors books but was never really willing to give this series a shot. I tried. I really did. After the last one I swore there was no saving it... Again people convinced me that it’s all worth it and it there was a method to the madness it was always Mia... But no this idiocy happens that proves that people will literally read and rave about anything. The ridiculous “sister wives crap goes on for FOUR FREAKING YEARS AND HIM GETTING MEG PREGNANT AGAIN!!! Somehow we are all supposed to believe that it was always Mia, even though he maintained a full fledged relationship with Meg. While he was so convincing that Meg though she was still queen bee. He always had a full fledged smex life with her as well. He refused to wear condoms with Meg. While always using (again for FOUR YEARS) condoms with Mia. Waits for Meg to end it with him. Yet somehow despite all 100% of the actions supporting that he is just a set adsorbed narsisistic jacka$$, we are supposed to believe that he is truly in love with Mia and can’t live without her. There is a suspension of disbelief and then there is this, pile of trash. There is nothing more than a poorly conceived plot line that honestly make it questionable as to if there were drugs involved. I am not exaggerating when I saw that how poor the writing is. It is all over the place. The contradictions are ridiculous. It would have had more credibility if every time she wrote something she changed her mind about she had just had them wake up and realize the crappy stuff was all a dream. It is that bad. I have absolutely hated books before, but not had the level of disgust I feel about the quality of writing. Everyone likes different things, it’s very true that not every thing can be for everyone. But this is just bad writing! Rewriting history, rewriting history rewriting history (again Mr. bad$$ mafia guy who doesn’t bother to lie to anyone because he can just make everyone do what he wants spends 4 years of his very little free time convincing this woman, Meg, they have a great relationship and he is in love with her, was actually just faking for some strange never given reason that made it make sense... sure). Loves Mia but made her miserable by her being forced to live believing that Meg is basically his first wife, talking them into threesomes etc (knowing how MIA is the one who is territorial and cannot stand physically seeing him with Meg).
Here’s the kicker that makes the entire plot impossible. I mean I know we are beating a dead horse at this point but even if all of the other stuff had never happened this would have still been the nail in the coffin... Mias spent years miserable because Meg had the power to let her have his baby. He tells Mia (his love) that he needs Meg to have his children right now but he will give her one someday.... Only instead Meg got tired of sharing so she helped Mia’s ex kidnap her. He rapes her, she gets knocked up. She has his baby, not Mateo’s. Mr mafia man who has killed his family before lets her live even after he finds this all out!!! But Mia (who desperately wanted to have his child) gets a baby from her rapist ex and Meg gets the honor of being his children’s mother. Someone needs to tell the idiot behind this that you can’t just give throw a couple of sentences here or there out of an entire book to try to sell as what makes it ok, when the other 100,000 plus words in this book support the opposite narrative. That is bad writing. Not being creative, not having a “dark” storyline etc. Just bad writing. I should not have wasted my time. It’s my mistake for letting someone convince me that maybe you can come back from a place that I knew there was no was the plot could come back from and still make sense. I wasted my time writing this review in case anyone else is dumb like me and thinking they might try to “give it a chance”. I am so angry at myself right now. The sad part is that I have read other books by her and they were dark, but great writing. I have read one book that I didn’t really care for, because of a plot point but at least the writing was good. But this? No excuse. The crap like this is why she isn’t more successful. Readers don’t know if they can trust her. This series is like a bad acid trip. The next time I get the urge to read a book by her I am going to remember this and not bother wasting my time. And this is coming from someone that loved Untouchable, dark storyline, and all.

Coming Home (Morelli Family, #6) by Sam Mariano This is my first written review and it's not a good thing. I'm honestly so disgusted right now. If you were going to change who the hero was going to end up with, you should not have written an entire book with a completely different heroine. You gave us an entire book with Meg and a HEA with the hero to then bring the couple to three, to then completely knock Meg out. I'm honestly pissed right now and I know that I can never trust the work of this author. It would have been different if it would have always been about Mia and Mateo and Meg was just some fling who was never a main factor. You let Meg fall in love and build a family with this man to then give Mia, who honestly did not deserve it, an HEA. This series is god awful (with the exception of Elise and Adrian). While the author's writing is good, what she considers a good story and romantic is subjective and quite frankly, I'd rather not read anymore of her work.

Worst book ever! I do not why did i even torture myself with this shit.
The author is crazy! I loved meg and mateo in the second book. Loved their banter and story line everything bit the author turned it into shit. I mean if she wanted mia and mateo to be together why did she introduce vince and meg? Why?
Meg took a bullet for him and he was such an asshole to her in this book. Oh and i hate the super nice MIA the one who cheated on her boyfriend and stole her best friends fiance.

1 star for the 4 years/5 stars for the addiction/KARMA/ending/sweetness

I am on a roll reading these. Who needs sleep?!?! Although I hated the sister wives thing with a passion (the tummy ache is NOT worth it), things happen in this book that made me feel slightly better. The karma was amazing! Honestly- it helped me continue reading 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Don’t continue reading if you don’t want any spoilers…

I’m serious! lol.

Okay- I warned you…

So, this book continues with the damn stupid/gross (in my opinion… if it doesn’t bother you, then I’m happy for you) sister/wives relationships 😒🤢. FOUR YEARS!!!! It’s been FOUR FREAKING YEARS OF SHARING MATEO 🤢. If I didn’t have a dear, trusty friend encouraging me to continue because things will be happening and I needed to trust the process, then I would’ve DNF. And I don’t DNF books. It might take me months to finish, but I’ll finish.

Mia finds out that Meg is pregnant… AGAIN 🤢😒🙄… and I FELT the betrayal. I also cried, just like Mia. It’s been four motha freaking years of seeing Meg with Mateo’s kid and now another one is on the way. I will say, Sam Mariano has a way of making me FEEL everything Mia is feeling- shoot, even the other POVs we get are good! I actually cried (not sure if this is a spoiler since it’s the opening scene of the book- but I did my share of warning).

Now, Mia is “happy” for Meg and Mateo and their little family (🤦🏻‍♀️I don’t even know how she could be happy since she’s been wanting a Mateo baby for a while and hasn’t been able to get one since they “agreed” she wouldn’t have any 🙄😒), but it BOTHERS her… it HURTS her… and I felt it. I felt the same punch-in-the-stomach feeling as Mia.

Vince comes back- with a little info help by another character- and takes Mia away. Again, this is early in the book, so I don’t know if this is considered a spoiler 🤷🏻‍♀️. This is where KARMA comes to play- because there are consequences to the actions that happen here. It’s been four years, and although Vince has tried to move on, he can’t. Mia is one-of-a-kind, and he only wants her. Is it rooted in revenge? 🤔probably 🙈. Honestly, I wasn’t even mad at Vince for doing this. If anything, I wanted to cheer them on since Mia has gotten the short end of the stick for four years (well, really, Mateo has constantly preferred her, but… come on… she’s had to share him for FOUR years). I wanted her to get some other D… Mateo gets another V… and I’m ALL ABOUT EQUALITY! 😂 there’s some noncon that happens 😬, but even then, Mia isn’t mad at Vince. She sees the good in everyone. Mateo and Mia’s betrayal did this do him 😏so… karma… 😬. I mean … I was even starting to root for Rafe 😂. I just wanted Mia to get it in with someone else- yessss… she loves Mateo unconditionally… but my vengeful ass wanted other d… even if it was just for a little bit lol (FOUR YEARS!!!!💁🏻‍♀️).

This sets the tone for the rest of the book…
Mateo was MISERABLE (okay… this got to me 🥺) without Mia… so when she goes back… it’s almost as if life has meaning for him again. Things change… finally… FINALLY… after FOUR years, things change… (it took you long enough Mateo 🙄).

The sweet scenes with Mateo and Mia were 🥰🥺. She’s his Achilles heel… and Mia makes him a better person. She gives him life and is the light to his darkness (balance). Ugh!!! It’s so damn perfect!!!! Why did the sister wives thing happen?!?!! I hate how “logical” Mateo could be. Yes… things make sense… but I’m possessive and I hated his reasoning. I couldn’t justify it going on for FOUR years 🙈😒.

⚠️safety squad⚠️
-sister wives still going on in the beginning 🤢
-noncon/dubcon triggers
-h “cheats” (🙄… I kind of justify it 💁🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️) on H (ahem… FOUR YEARS) but she didn’t choose to do it… so there’s that

10 Stars to Coming Home (Morelli Family, #6)
Series must be read in order.

I don't know what to say. Sam Mariano has left me speechless. I mean, how do you describe perfection? It was everything amazing and addictive. Mateo Morelli was an enigma. He's screwed up, but he's my screwed up. I want him to marry me, the evil bastard.

“I don’t think you’re supposed to bang the bride before the wedding.”
“That’s the most absurd thing I’ve ever heard. Wedding day or not, why would I waste a perfectly good morning not fucking you?”

When I reread this book--because it's a fact that I will--I'll come back to add a proper review. Maybe. Mateo Morelli tends to rob me of my ability to think straight.

I grip his head and stare at it. “I want in here. I want to go for a walk around every devious corner of your complicated mind.”
Smirking, he assures me, “You’d get lost.”
“I’d bring a map.”
“Too dark,” he shoots back. “You wouldn’t be able to see.”
“I’d bring a light,” I reply, quirking a smug eyebrow.
He smiles, bringing a hand up to tenderly caress my face. “You are my light.”

HEA: Yes! Finally Mia and Mateo get to rule as King and Queen together in their fabulous mansion in Chicago with all their babies. Book 7 is a continuation book but you can rest assured that Mia and Mateo's HEA is safe. I highly recommend to read on. Book 7 is fantastic!

******************************
Note: Anyone who read this book and was pissed at what happened to Meg, they must not have been paying attention, because the writing was on the wall. Meg was never meant to be the heroine in this series. Book 2 was just part of the plot twists and angst factor. There's a reason we only got Meg's PoV in that book, and not Mateo's. He played her from the start. She was a smokescreen. It got complicatedly messy and she got caught in Mateo's schemes. Poor girl. But Mia was always the end goal. Maybe these readers just refused to accept it. Bless their hearts. Just wait to see what happens to Meg in the next book. 😱 It gets worse for her. I loved it. 😂 😈

4 Crazy Crazy Crazy

This series is INSANE! This book is about Vince, Mateo, Mia and Meg. I’m surprised we get another Mateo and Mia book so soon, but I’ll take it.

I’ll be honest and say I didn’t like the first half of the book. I felt like it was a little long or I needed more than the two POV’s. I kind of wished I got Mateo’s POV but that’s just me. I think if the first half was edited down this book would have been a home run for me.

I really enjoyed the second half of the book because I felt like progress was happening and characters were shifting. Yes, character shifting is the best part of the book.

I felt like there was justice served!

I love Mia, but good lord that girl is too nice. Sometimes I want her to be mean or hate someone, but that wouldn’t be Mia would it.

Like I said this book is crazy addictive.

Superbly written and full of surprises

5 Stars, fantastically written book and it deserves 5 stars even though I found a LOT of what happens hard to digest. Coming Home pretty much wraps up our main characters story arc with a few loose ends (Meg and Vince) yet to be tied up. Sam Mariano has done a terrific job of bring her characters to life, no outcome at any point seems predetermined, the characters could realistically gone in any direction and it still feel organic. Ever character is shown at the worst at some point, Mia and Vince bring out the worst in each other, Mateo brings out the worst in Meg and Vince brings out the worst in Mateo. Meg doesn’t manage to bring out the worst in anyone YET (because she’s not actually that important to anyone as to her horror she finally realises) but I think Mateo is gearing up to cut her into tiny bits in book 7, never cross Mateo. On the whole Coming Home ties up all the loose ends and delves into the motivations of our characters. It was a satisfactory end to the Mia/Mateo story and regardless of whether you liked the characters clearly they love each other to the exclusion of everyone else.

Spoilers Below:

If you do not want spoilers cease reading now …

I am serious, stop reading, spoilers ahead …

Here we go …

Okay so the primary conflict revolves around Mia’s abduction and the flow on effects. I think this part of the story despite being heartbreaking is fairly non-controversial upon her return Mateo is an absolute dick/hypocrite considering Meg is currently pregnant with his child. The controversial aspects of this story seem to be related entirely to Meg NOT ending up with Mateo … Seriously if anyone after reading Twice Burned thought Meg and Mateo was headed for a happily ever after they need to do a serious reread. Despite getting very little page time Meg faces some hard truths in this novel, the first of which is that Mia clearly means a LOT more to Mateo than she does and the second of which is that Mateo has been lying to her from the start and the man she thought she was with never existed. This revelation has been slowly building for a long time the first 4 books all showed us different versions of Mateo which is due to narrator bias, in the end three perspectives (Adrian, Francesca and Mia towards the end) are similar and one is vastly different (Meg’s) so heading into Resisting Mateo the reader had a choice believe the three relatively similar portrayals of Mateos behaviour admittedly coloured slightly by personal opinions (Mia always think the best even when a person does the worst, Adrian is ultra-suspicious and Francesca has been bottle fed the Morelli cool-aide) or go with Meg’s portrayal of a loving, sweet Mateo. Personally I’m not sure how anyone still held on to Meg’s Mateo by the end of Family Ties, at this point a great deal of what he has said to Meg is already disproven. He openly flirts with Mia at every available opportunity, has failed to carry through his promise to burn the Castello family to the ground (in fact his first concern when he talks to Salvatore is Mia) and when questioned about whether he actually intends to marry Meg his response is MAYBE. On top of this Surviving Mateo was riddle with inconsistencies, no one but Meg believes in Mateo’s commitment to her, Vince won’t even let Mia come over to the house while Meg is imprisoned yet Meg completely dismisses this just like she dismisses Elise telling her Mateo raped Mia. Meg has three defining features and they aren’t the ones she believes herself to have, Meg is egotistical, shallow and self-delusional. That doesn’t mean she isn’t feisty or a survivor but her main focus in personal security not love, this becomes evident when we enter Resisting Mateo. Meg does agree to sister wives, she isn’t forced into it she agrees, read her internal monologue she is initially shocked upon the realisation that her place with Mateo isn’t as secure as she believed but once Mateo offers his (empty) promises she gets on bored. The simple reason is first Meg isn’t sexually possessive, it doesn’t bother her that Mateo is having sex with Mia the way it bothers Mia that he is having sex with Meg, she is legitimately okay with it as long as he still wants her as well. Second the mere fact that he wants to bring on Mia tells Meg she isn’t giving him everything he wants which means even if she says no now and he accepts this there is a very real possibility that in the future he will find someone else who isn’t like Mia, someone who won’t be content until she full replaces Meg, Mia is a better option, Meg full believes she can control Mia. She adds the proviso that only she (Meg) can bare him children because in her mind that will always make her more valuable to Mateo, what she doesn’t know but the readers do is that Mateo immediately discards this rule. Meg isn’t the same person in Resisting that she was in Surviving, Mateo has already begun to wear on her and we see more of Meg’s less desirable traits eg for all her big talk about rape being her no go area during much of Resisting she believes Mateo is raping Mia but never goes to check on her, Meg is a lot of talk but her actions never measure up to her opinion of herself. Coming Home starts four years later and Meg has been exposed to Mateo for a long time now and her walls are sky high. The first chapter centres on Meg’s revelation to Mia that she is pregnant again, Meg does this in the cruellest most hurtful way possible not because she has anything against Mia but because she insecure about why Mateo hasn’t told Mia yet. Regardless is was a horrid bitchy action and it backfires big time because Mateo ends his relationship with Meg he just doesn’t bother to tell her. Over the next four months he stops taking her to functions, dates and vacations, he very rarely sleeps with her and Meg comes to the realisation that she not Mia is the disposable one in the relationship. Meg banked on all the wrong horses Mateo offered Meg what she wanted … security … he offered Mia himself and that was more valuable. After Meg comes to this revelation her worst side comes out, this has nothing to do with Mia, Meg doesn’t blame Mia or having anything against her she just see Mia (her only friend) as being in the way. So when the opportunity comes to sell Mia down the river she leaps at it. Do not be fooled Meg knows exactly what she was doing, if you doubt this reread the last chapter, she told Vince exactly where and when to find Mia knowing a) he’s unstable/psychotic b) Mia will almost certainly be subject to physical/mental/sexual abuse and c) there is a decent chance he may kill her, hell when Meg is thinking about it in her own mind she’s only 93% certain Vince killing Mia isn’t actually her preference. Once Mia has been abducted Meg shows no remorse or guilt and carries on with her plan to win Mateo back, it is only after it becomes absolutely, undeniably obvious that even with Mia gone Mateo has no desire to be with Meg that she regrets her actions and then only because if Mateo ever finds out about her involvement she knows he will kill her. Meg didn’t make a mistake, she made a calculated decision which failed because as Mateo informs her he never loved her the way he does Mia, it was always Mia. As readers we find from Mateo that not only did he always want Mia but he never wanted Meg, his feelings for her where not romantic. He lied his way through their entire relationship, first because he used her to allay Vince’s fear that he was still after Mia so that he could be closer to Mia (and yes becoming engaged to her was designed to convince Vince to drop his guard he never intended to marry her) and then because he knew Mia would be consumed by guilt if she thought he had abandoned her pregnant friend for her it only lasted so long because Mia didn’t appear unhappy once Meg hurt Mia Mateo ended his involvement with her, he just doesn’t tell her because he wants her to be the one to end the relationship so Mia won’t feel guilty. Crude as ever Mateo actually describes Meg as an ‘obligation fuck’ and after all what fun is an obligation fuck, the implication is that the reason it took Meg so long to conceive again was that he only had sex with her the bare minimum it was necessary to carry on the ruse, while he is literally constantly all over Mia. There is some confusion around Meg confessing her involvement in Mia’s abduction to Mia after all despite what she says to Mia we know from her own internal monologue that she doesn’t feel guilty. I think the reasoning has more to do with Mateo, during her confession she mentions to Mia that if there is another shooting to know Mateo is behind it, despite this appearing a throwaway remark I actually believe it is the point of Meg’s confession, so far the only person proven to be able to leash Mateo’s murderous impulses is Mia (example Vince) if Mateo was to ever find out about Meg’s involvement but Mia not know Mateo could have Meg killed and Mia would never suspect his involvement because she would never suspect he had a reason to want Meg dead, by confessing to Mia she guarantees Mia’s protection which is the only kind that has ever worked against Mateo. We will find out in Last Words whether her gamble pays off….

All together once you get past the outcry from Meg fans this was a terrific book. Meg was never right for Mateo, he lied to her from the very beginning whether you like Mia or not she is the only person able to deal with Mateo. Meg is like Vince to a certain extent they both fell for people who weren’t right for them, do readers really want Meg to have spent the rest of her life with a man who did not now nor had ever loved her as anything other than a friend? Meg fans before you leave your 1 star reviews because your favourite didn’t end up with the man ask yourself this, after Mateo revealed to Meg that he had raped Mia does Meg even want him? The answer is NO it makes me sick in her stomach Mateo has known this was Meg’s big no go area from the beginning, the relationship was never going to work because he had already committed the one action she considered unforgivable, while Meg can she ignores this (she doesn’t check on Mia in Resisting and she ignores Elise in Surviving) but once Mateo tells her its over she legitimately doesn’t want him anymore. She’s not sad its over, she isn’t crying in her room at night she’s planning that new business empire she plans to build on the back of being given Meg’s Place as a parting gift. She didn’t hate sister wives until Mateo ended it but didn’t bother to tell her. Meg’s only concern now is if Mateo ever finds out about her involvement in Mia’s abduction. Meg is a shallow person, her emotions don’t run deep enough to be hurt because Mateo loves Mia instead of her.

To people who haven’t read the book but read my review anyway my advice is go away and read this book. It’s excellent. I have omitted the majority of plot points to just focus on the controversial element (Meg) so you still have plenty left to explore.

What happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object? Drama filled chaos! Nothing about this book prepared me for the events that followed. My heart was in tatters, utterly crushed, yes had those moments of crying my eyes out.

Jeesh it's embarrassing when you're hooked on a series as much as I am. But what do you expect when romance guru master herself delivers another epic five star win?

Episodes of rooting for your favorite characters, while attempting to not lick the screen because of bad ass hotness making several page appearances. Not taking out a hit or hiring a psychopath to eliminate the pain in the ass you absolutely hate.

Trust me I have one and if I could, I would wrap my fingers tightly against…..well that would be telling….NOT. Then there were those warm buttery moments where you’re like awwww and fist pumping the air because everything worked out the way you hoped.

To say Sam Mariano is a poet among words is an understatement. She keeps you glued in and yes drives you absolutely bat shit crazy with steamy scenes in the sheets.

Damn you Morelli men, I’m ruined for life. Speaking of I hope to see more of the following Dante, Collin, Vince and Ralf. The mental image….panty soaking!

As much as I love these books, I just can’t take anymore. I HATE what happened with Vince’s character. Hate it. He’s a dickhead, yes. But dang...

The series was definitely not what I thought it would be. That’s a good and bad thing. I feel so drained from the Mia series. She’s what I like to call the “Golden pussy”. Everyone falls in love with her minutes upon meeting her. I can’t tell you how annoying I find that. I liked that in the beginning but geez...enough with all the men that want to fuck her.

Meg. Love the girl but I’m glad Mateo didn’t stay with her. She was an undercover catty bitch. The one that’s not supposed to be “jealous”. But in the end she didn’t deserve what she got from Mateo.

Adrian was as sexy as ever. If Mateo was out of the picture, he’d be my second ;)
Wish we had more Sal and Francesca. I liked their relationship the best.

Hated this one more

Tried to go on. Hated it more. So done with series. I have never hated an anti-hero more than Mateo. And I have never hated a h more than Mia. I am sorry, I am all for screwing over the other woman, when she is a bitch. But Meg did not deserve what she got. I am sorry you want set up a love triangle do it, but don’t string the person along and turn her into nothing more than an after thought and punching bag. Especially after you have caused us to invest in her character with a whole book. She deserves so much more. Screw that. Mia is nothing but a spoiled brat.

Finally Mia and Mateo are together exclusively, even though it took awhile. We got there in the end. Meg is still in the picture which i hate. I'm hoping they get rid of her in the next book because i honestly cannot stand her. She claims to be best friends with Mia and so fine with the sharing, yet she's jealous and scheming and admitted she wanted her dead. What kind of friend does that? With that betrayal i'm hoping Mateo just kills her off.

I'm kind of sick of Vince pining for Mia. I mean he needs to learn to let go of her, or maybe not cause he might possibly die for what he did? so i'm not sure what will happen with him yet.

One thing that i dislike of Mia's personality is that she is too caring and kind even to people who do not deserve that from her. We did see an improvement in this book where she did slightly stand up for herself which was amazing, but i want more of it. When she did find out that Meg sold her out she did nothing about it. yes she was hurt but that was it. I wanted her to punch that bitch for what she did. In moments like that i wish she wasn't so kind and forgiving.

I have to say, I'm 𝘮𝘶𝘤𝘩 happier with how this book turned out than I was with the one before.
Like seriously, Book 5 really pained me a lot.
Book 6 made up for that pain and disappointment. In a big way.

For one, I finally got the pairing and the HEA I'd been rooting for since Book 1.

Meet Mia, or should I say, Mrs. Mateo Morelli?

𝘾𝙪𝙚 *𝙨𝙦𝙪𝙚𝙖𝙡* 𝙥𝙡𝙪𝙨 𝙘𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙤𝙤𝙣 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙩 𝙚𝙮𝙚𝙨!!!

Yeah, we're done with the stupid sister wives shit. The reasoning that Mateo gave behind how it all even started 𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺. 𝘉𝘭𝘦𝘸. 𝘔𝘺. 𝘔𝘪𝘯𝘥!!!!

Like, hellloooo? Mateo? You're supposed to be this genius guy, how could you underestimate Mia this badly?
That's a new low, even for you!

But I say, all's well that ends well.

I can ignore the existence of Meg, even if she continues to stay in the Morelli household. 𝙄 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙠. I hope.

The book started out with a total 𝙗𝙖𝙣𝙜!

Mia gets kidnapped!

By her ex! Vince!

Of course I'd think Mateo would go guns-ablazing and rescue her. 𝙒𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙜! ❌

Mateo can't even find the two. Which, okay. Reasonable? Maybe. But a total letdown.

This guy, Rafe brings Mia back.

Of course I'd think Rafe's role would be something big in this book. Which, again? 𝙒𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙜! ❌

Then, finally Mia is home. Safe and sound. Sister wives crap is history. Mateo proposes!💍

Mia of course says YES!

Then. Da-dum. Mia is pregnant.

And it's Vince's child.

Of course I'd think now Mateo loses his mind and shoots Vince dead. Which, again? 𝙒𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙜! ❌

So then maybe Vince will return before the wedding to demand some role in his unborn child's fate? Which, again? 𝙒𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙜! ❌

This book was full of soo many red herrings, none of which came true.

Did it piss me off and confuse me to no end? Yes.

Did I end up hating the book because of it? Nope!

Not 5★ because of the red herrings and the frankly, needles drama.
But more than 4★ because I finally get a happy wedded end for Mia and Mateo.

And what a wedding that was too!!! Hands down the cutest, most adorable bookish ceremony I've ever read!

*sigh*

I can rest easy now!

Here goes.
You KNEW this had to go one of 3 ways:
The way you wanted it to
Not the way you wanted it to
Or you couldn't choose a dang side and guess what?
NO MATTER WHAT, YOU'RE GONNA LOVE THE SH*T OUT OF THIS EPISODE.
...ah--book. I mean book. Right.

As with every book in the Morelli saga, things start off with the brightest, best-appearing intentions.

Then... then things... they happen...

And you'll find yourself texting your friends at 4am, trying to unload this, this THING off your chest--this thing I can't TELL you about--and your friend is all "Sister Wives??"
Just, YOU'RE HERE TO LISTEN, OKAY? #DONTJUDGE

And you're looking at the clock thinking "I don't need sleep. I need the happy ending more than I need sleep. And it'll be okay. It's always... been... okay...

And you know how the Morelli's are. Once you start... you're not going ANYWHERE. You CAN'T PUT THIS DOWN.

And do your loved ones a favor: wear this shirt while reading this book. This way YOU can read in peace, and THEY can survive another day. Win! ...If you do not have this garment, then well? If they make it, they'll know the lesson for next time: DO NOT DISTURB DURING THE DEVOURING OF A MORELLI BOOK. DON'T do it.

THIS BOOK JUST KEPT GETTING BETTER AND BETTER. I highlighted the lines that made me burst out with inappropriate laughter.
The lines that made me love characters I SHOULD NOT LOVE.
Or love them despite things they shouldn't do.
So, you know. TYPICAL SAM MARIANO, screwing with our hearts and making us all love her for it.

I am so in love with this series. This family. Everyone's been wondering: will they be happy with how it all goes down?
WHY DID YOU DOUBT??!?!?!?!
YEAH. OH YEAH. What you want to know: THIS BOOK WAS SOOOO GOOOD...

So after reading all these books, I can say this is DEFINITELY not for me. I stuck with it because I wanted to see the two characters stay together and work something out, but I HATE the turn this series has taken. I do not like to see a women get swept up and manipulated by ANY MAN. if that is your thing, then go ahead and read this book. But a heads up, it is definitely not pretty. It won't turn out pretty. This is just not for me .

“You are my light.”

Yeah I don’t know. I’m believing in the main MCs love a little bit more and more as the books go. So much to say, but I won’t because I don’t want to spoil it. I guess on to book 7. Which I think is the last for the OG Morelli’s and I’ve already read the Vegas crews books, so we shall see.

Ummm... okay okay, so I have mixed feelings about this book, mainly because it gave me constant panic attacks. I never try to find spoilers, I hate spoilers, but I was fucking combing the internet to find out what happens just to alleviate my panic. The only reason this book earned 3 stars and not 4/5 is because Mia, as much as I adore her, was too hard on Mateo for wanting to kill Vince. I understand why she felt somewhat guilty, because her affair with Mateo messed with Vince, but Vince was a bag of dicks in book one and got progressively worse. Vince raped Mia in Vegas and age couldn’t even acknowledge what he did. After letting Vince go, REPEATEDLY, Mateo had every right to flay, torture, and kill Vince after he came back, kidnapped Mia, raped her repeatedly, and above all, forced her to wear trashy af lingerie and didn’t give her clothes. The difference between Mateo and Vince’s relationship with Mia in this book was all too clear. Vince sees Mia as a piece of clay, one that can easily be melded into whatever image he wants. She has no feelings and no value. Vince and Meg both made the same mistake, they both thought Mia would easily fall back in love with Vince, but what they didn’t realize was that Mia hasn’t loved Vince since book 1. Meeting Mateo ruined it. From that point on she craved what only he could give her. And how does Mateo see Mia? He sees a force of nature that doesn’t even realize her loving personality is her greatest weapon. Ugh, I love them. But I’m mad that Vince is going to get away with this. I’m mad Meg is going to get away with what she did and being a massive manipulative cunt toward Mia for 4 books. And I’m really pissed off Mia’s boy turned out to be Vince’s. Omg I HATED it. I couldn’t get past it. It was torture to read because I love Mia and Mateo so much it was hard to see them in pain. One of the highlights of this book was reading about why Mateo pursued a relationship with Meg and essentially called her an obligation fuck. That was fun. It was fun to read about him choosing Mia over her every single damn time. Very gratifying. I still need more Mia and Francesca moments. I’m okay with Meg and Vince dying, even though I know it won’t happen. 3 stars for putting me through hell.

Review by Jen Skewes

As with every book in this series I was so nervous and scared to dive into Coming Home, but at the same I could not wait. With Ms. Mariano you never know what you are going to get. Once again she took me on one heck of a roller coaster ride filled with twists and turns, ups and downs, all of which I never saw coming. There were moments where I wasn’t sure if I my heart could take the emotional ride any more, but by the end I was left smiling and wanting to get back on the ride that is the Morelli Family.

I don’t want to go into any detail about this book. There is no blurb for a reason. Just go in blind. If you are up to date on this series then you know where Mateo’s relationship stands with both Mia and Meg. Coming Home starts off in a very unexpected way, one that I truly never saw coming. Mia finds herself in a situation that she needs to fight to get through. And when she finally does fight she finds out that so much has changed where her relationships are concerned. When things seem to be great in her life, another bombshell is dropped and this one I was not sure she would be able to work out, to where she would be happy. Coming Home is filled with surprise after surprise, some that broke my heart, some that made my heart very happy and some that just shocked me. In true Sam Mariano fashion this book was filled with drama and angst and I loved every minute of it.

This is one of my all time favorite series. I love Mateo and somehow with each book, Ms. Mariano makes me fall even more in love with him. Yes, he can be a complete bastard at times but those are the times when he truly needs to be. When he doesn’t he is a man that will surprise you, a man with a heart and a soft soft for one woman in particular.

This book revolves around Mia and Mateo and of course Meg but one part of this story that I absolutely loved was the friendship between Adrian and Mia. At times I was so unsure of how he really felt about her because…..well because he’s Adrian. But their friendship in this installment will just melt your heart. If you thought you loved him in his own book wait until you see him in Coming Home. You will love him even more.

When this series first started I had my mind set on the characters I loved, the ones I hated, the ones I trusted and who I wanted Mateo to end up with. But I can now say that after reading book 7 that everything I thought I knew and wanted has completely changed, well except for my love for Mateo and Adrian. Over the course of this series and especially in this book you begin to see these characters more in depth. You begin to see who you can and cannot trust, who can handle the situations that they find themselves in and who cannot. You see that maybe you underestimated some characters while you believed that others were stronger than they really were. And that is what I loved about this series, this book and Ms. Mariano’s writing. I loved the mixed emotions that I felt, the angst, the drama, the friendships and the love. I never want this series to end. I cannot wait to see what Sam Mariano has in store for us next with Last Words.

The fact that I ignored my entire life and literally couldn’t put down my kindle says a lot about how perfect this book is.

We get everything we want out of the 6th book. I was screaming.

You will love this if you’ve been reading the series.

I’ll probably never read another book like this. There’s no other author that really puts you in the lives of the characters the way Sam Mariano does. There’s no way you’ll understand this unless you’ve read one of her books.

The twists and turns are epic BUT the best part about Sam’s writing is that it’s REAL feelings actual people have in REAL LIFE. Trust me, you’ll understand when you read this series.

Mia is a person that feels deeply. It’s acknowledged and discussed in depth and it’s so adorable actually the way Mateo completely accepts her and is obsessed with her 😍.

From the absolute beginning I’ve been team Mia the entire time. I’m sure we can all day after reading Accidental Witness, that we were certainly not all team Mateo. I’m quite certain that like myself, no one saw this relationship coming but man once it did ... holy holy wow. It’s just honestly relationship goals on so many levels as far as emotional connection with another human being.

I’m an avid reader of romance novels and I find myself wondering why authors don’t write their characters in more authentic ways. There seems to be something lacking authenticity in many novels. Sam Mariano is the cure to that issue.

The conversions had between Mateo and Mia, the love, the confessions, everything, you just can’t manufacture that unless you’ve been in love.

They have a ride or die love.

I still can’t believe we’re here now after how it all started. This is perfect brilliant writing and story telling.

Making me fear the end of this series and wonder what life will be like without Mateo and Mia in it well, that’s seriously brilliant writing.

The best part of about Sam’s writing I’ve noticed is that I hope at least the ending will be what I want. She usually wraps everything up the exact way I want with the exact things said I always want. She never lets me down.

The sister-wives things go on and on for 4 freaking years. 4!!!! And Meg is pregnant again but she doesn't want Mia to have Matteo's babies. The author tries to make me believe that Matteoplanned to have Mia forever, and only her but he did not want to make Mia suffer by breaking up with Meg, by making her suffer and he keeps her as a lover for 4 years. again...4!!!

He is spending more time with her than with Meg, but let's be real, if he wanted to break u with Meg, he would have done it. Nope, I hate him and I think that mia deserves something better.
And Meg is a b**tch. she told Vince how to find Mia, and by doing this, she facilitates the kidnapping.

Vince keeps Mia at his place in another state, and Mia acts like she is a guest, she doesn't actually try to escape, and also, she is jealous when Vince is flirting with OW. Really Mia?????? Vince kind of raped Mia ... I did not felt like Mia was really fighting him.

Mia is saved by another cousin and brought back to Matteo who is now upset because she is pregnant with Vince's baby. Meg is punished because she put Mia in danger, she askes Matteo out of the whole sister-viveds thing, and Matteo accepts Vince;s baby as his own

Absolutely brilliant

This book just became one of my all time favorites. I can't give up much because you have to read it to feel it. This is the 6th book of the series and the author has brilliantly tied up all the loose ends from the previous 5 books. Mateo has been my favourite character and you will never find a more villainous hero!! He is going to stay on your minds for a long time.
