Baptism: Its Mode and Subjects

Rate this book
This epic work on the subject of Baptism was written by Alexander Carson (1776-1844), who began his ministry believing in the sprinkling of infants. His study of the Scriptures together with a careful analysis of the occurrence of the words Bapto and Baptizo in classical Greek literature led him to radically alter his convictions, adopting the Baptist position; this work is the result of that study. Originally released in 1831, it was reissued in enlarged form in 1844 when additional articles were added dealing with all the arguments advanced in favour of the sprinkling of infants and against the immersion of professing believers. This is a book for pastors to study; Carson lays out carefully the key principles of interpretation and then pursues them relentlessly.

This edition is based on the expanded version of 1844 and has been completely re-typeset for issue as an eBook.
