The third volume (of twelve) of the Handbook of Precision Engineering. This volume covers the fabrication of non-metals, including plastics, ceramics, glass, and monocrystaline materials.
The first two volumes were a bit of a slog, but this one confirmed my decision to stick with the series. Rated five stars due to the excellent information about processing of artificial sapphires, including a short treatment on the Verneuil process for making artificial gemstones, something that I've been looking for more information on for a while.
