Luana Berry’s plate is full. Not only is she juggling two jobs and an internship, but she’s doing so while maintaining a 3.8 GPA at the most expensive private school in Memphis, TN. Just a few months away from being the first college graduate in her family, Luana plans to continue her education and become a Lawyer. There’s just one thing standing in the way of her dreams – her brother, Lucas Berry. Jaxon Jeffries’ plate is full. Not only does he have his own investment firm, but he’s also on the city council and running for mayor. When his parents suggest that he take a wife to soften his image and show his loving, compassionate side to voters, Jaxon is against it – until he saves Lucas Berry in exchange for the chance to have his sister Luana. With Lucas being the reason Luana had the opportunity to even attend college, she feels obligated to help her brother during his time of need. So much so that when the choice is his freedom or her singleness she agrees to stand by Jaxon’s side as his wife. Jaxon and Luana have one goal – to prove to the world that they love each other before election day. Neither desire real love, especially from each other, but the more time they spend together the more they realize love is no respecter of persons, time, deals and enemies made, or hearts that intend to be saved.

Just Say You Love Me started out really good but, then, it imploded into ridiculousness. Luanna was a horrible female protagonist and an even horrible partner. She was ungrateful, childish, annoying, undeserving, and any other negative adjective I can think of. Luanna was unnecessarily problematic from the start. Her brother, Lucas, gets caught robbing Jaxon's house. This would be his third strike so, he's looking at a minimum of twenty years. Jaxon, who is running for mayor, needs a wife to help his image. He tells Lucas he won't press charges if he can convince Luanna to marry him. She agrees but, she's sulky from the start. Luanna in this predicament because of Lucas but, Jaxon is the one who gets all the attitude. She was hot and cold 95% of the book and didn't know what she wanted. She wanted to be with Jaxon. She didn't want to be with Jaxon. She wanted to be with Jaxon. She didn't want to be with Jaxon. Good Lord this chic was tiresome! No man should have to work that hard to prove he loves you and that you're worthy of love. I love a good storyline about fake marriages but, Just Say You Love Me wasn't it. Luanna was so dislikeable to the point, she ruined the book. She was too scared to love and too scared to be loved. This book was just disappointing.
Oh wow! Jaxon and Luana were a love worth reading about! Even though their relationship was planned their feelings for each other were real! B Love showed so much passion with these characters and Jaxon had me swooning throughout the book. Luana words when she spoke about love and black single women hit so close to home I definitely felt every word she said she’s a gem. B Love have yet to disappoint me I highly recommend this book
I love this story to the up most. It just go's to show you that the heart wants what the heart wants and it's no fighting it when it's the real deal. Jaxon and Luana were beauitful together and can't wait to continue to read about them in Lucas and Hali book. Magnificent read B. Love you never disappoint.
I have loved this author from my first read. She has become one of my favorites to read. Ok on to Jax and LuLu... I love them. It was amazing to see their love develop and manifest itself. To see LuLu discover her strength and conquer her fears. Luke and Ana Love them even more. There were so many emotions going through my head with this book. It is far more than just a romance. It is also full of scenes that can be pulled out and placed in Higher Learning, or added to Julian’s “wake up” at the end of school daze, or just dropped as any status on face book to share. I still say that Luana’s entire relationship panel speech needs to be patented by B. Love. Soulmates verses Sole-Mates., took my mind to a higher place. Again so much more than a romance. Don’t mistake my outlook, it was full of romance, just not the run of the meal romance or the norm even for B. Love. I see tremendous growth in this author since I first discovered her pen. There are so many different sentiments, and pure knowledge, that runs through the veins of this book, fear, love, hurt, anger and resentment to name a few. All of the characters have experienced them in one form or fashion. I will never understand or try to understand the parents of Luke and Ana. They were selfish and negligent plain and simple. I loved that the Dr (well B. Love.. Lol) did not give them a moment, it was, and is not about you... Just tell these children what they need to hear and bounce. I cried and rejoiced at the same time over this scene. This is one of those stories that you need to read and digest the meat carefully. I highly recommend this book and all books written by B. Love.
As usual B Love has a way of storytelling that tugs at my heart strings. I appreciated the fact that you took your time with their relationship. And in between schooled us to a few things about love! Thank you-Zee
Cute story!!! This is a cute little love story. This book is even paced and so full of love. It kept my attention and I am really happy with the ending.
I love a good love story but these characters lacked passion, most of the love story played out while they were apart, I didn't feel their connection and there were too many speeches throughout the story I just wanted more!
Luana and Jaxon. 4.5 ⭐️ Jaxon is a strong, intelligent, handsome, black man who knows what he wants and knows how to get it. Whatever he doesn't know, he has a strong team that will make sure he does. He has built his business with his own two hands but has a strong parental system that supports and guides him. When he sees Luana, he wants her and has no qualms about showing it. Luana is beautiful, driven, and confident in herself but not when it comes to relationships. She's had a few bad run ins and an upbringing that has her thinking commitment isn't for her. When they meet the attraction is immediate. The more they get to know each other the more obvious it is that they are "sole-mates." <-- you'll get that later. This was a feel good book with black power, instant attraction, steamy out of control moments and relationship dos and donts. I'd have things to do but this book kept calling me. There's a point where they're alone in his "game room" and he comes up behind her... talk about steamy.
Issues: Hali crying about Lucas impregnating Shanice was too random. I wish there had been more said about the two of them prior to that. Maybe an interaction or two. So Jaxon has a stripper pole in his house but makes it seem as though he only pleasures himself with his hands. It almost sounded like he was a virgin but that pole... What happened to Christian?
I loved this book up until maybe 80%. It became too preachy and extra. I loved how words of wisdom was sprinkled in here and there. Then things took a few turns. It became overly religious. Had this been marked as Christian Rated R Romance, I would have been prepared. Then the bit about feminism... We have many examples of why marriages/relationships fail in this book. Yet, the writer points at the feminist movement of the 60s as the reason why there are so many single women who choose not to rely on a man. We're ignoring that Luana was seduced by a married preacher posing as a single black man. She was in a relationship with a man who was trying to control her and separate her from her family. Plus her parents were forced to marry and hated each other and neglected the kids. We're also not taking into account that back when men were leaving for war. There were women who were already on their own because their men were either jailed, dead, or left in their own accord. We're ignoring women who saw employment as a chance to leave an abusive relationship or a way of improving their circumstances. Let's not forget that some women don't have a choice in the matter. There are many who would love to marry and keep the home. Can't get married if there isn't anyone knocking.

Humm....ok...not what I thought it was going to go and so it was an ok read!!!
This was not what I thought it was going to go after reading the synopsis, and so it was an actual ok read in my views. Luana was the worst female lead character that I have read and also the worst partner for anyone. Childish, gullible, annoying, undeserving are just a few adjectives to be used regarding her. She definitely downgraded this book. Jaxson, man BAE all around, everyday, 24/7, 365days a year. Strong, alpha, knows what he wants, goal oriented, loyal, protector, lover...the only thing else to say is: where and how do I get my own Jaxson? This story started it out good (hence the 2 stars). But then it decline so quickly and not on Jaxson's end. Luana did not deserve a Jaxson, maybe she deserved Christian or David, but this fine specimen of a man, she didn't deserve him....Faith was so right in this case. I thought this story was going to go as it went at the beginning and it would have garnered so much drama from the mother who didn't approve, to the ex who wanted back to the media finding out it all started it fake to Jaxson making a bold public statement and get his woman for real, but sadly, this was not the case, as you read this emotional, childish, girl/woman who didn't know what she wanted and concocted a whole problem for her to pursue to be "better".... Man disappointment much!! On a lighter note, being it is a MS. Love's masterpiece, you know even if the main characters and/or the story has so much problems, the additives will be complemented as well as the educational side will be top notch...and that it was: from Luana's educational tour of black family, black woman independence, black supporting Black's and black unity to the character of Faith, Jacob, a little bit of Lucas, Hali and Soren, it was nice. Would have love more background on both Hali and Soren, but since Hali has her own story, I guess we couldn't get too much out of her for this one. Also, it would have been very nice to have had an epilogue of what happened to the couple and the mayoral seat and kids and family but again we have to read Hali and Lucas to get an update, not nice MS. Love, not nice!!!
Be brave grasshoppers.......Be brave! B makes me want to be brave. OMGGGGGGGG! BEST LOVE STORY EVER! I think I highlighted half of the book. One of the main things that stood out to to me is what some of us have already learned; that basic math is complicated. One half plus one half DOES NOT make ONE WHOLE! I couldn't have put it so articulate and perfect as she did myself. B showed us what REAL LOVE was, agape and erotica. She showed us the true definition of respect and admiration. Jaxon is DEFINITELY the definition of a MAN. Those sole ties and soul ties, worthless and worth less though, MY GOD. I'm just gon' sit here and look at cha! I love how B took us on a journey of self love, as only she can. Luana had to find herself before Jaxon could really find her. Yes, Yes, YES! I'm so pumped right now I could flip. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book to EVERYONE, but to anyone who is truly seeking love and fulfillment. This is the whole concept of marriage, to be complementing instead of complicated. This author right here, this author right here is definitely putting you on with this read. The black market, the black dollar, the black household equals a productive and prosperous black country. This national best selling author will not disappoint. This book IS another best seller. GO GET IT!!!!!!!
I really enjoyed this book by this author. It drew me in from the very beginning and held my attention to the very end. The storyline shows that past hurts can really cause you problems in life especially if it happens from your childhood on. I like how Luana finally sought help with therapy to realize you can confront what has happened to cause you fear and learn to love yourself, let go of your past and move on to have a healthy relationship with a man who really loves her. Also with Jaxson he was the ideal man who wants to take care of his woman, be with her forever and communicate and do things together having the same likes. Luana brother Lucas I want to see how he made out with him getting his lige together and stop making irrational choices that get him into trouble. So I am looking forward to reading his story in the next book. I highly recommend reading this authors books, they are verygood and you won't be disappointed. Cassandra H.
So what are you supposed to do after you finish reading a masterpiece? I know I need more of Jax and Lulu; I did not want to leave their world. Even though I know that these characters are not real, I still felt like I was part of their lives. I want to tell Lulu that you are worthy of love, don't allow your parents' mess to dictate your life.
Wow! What can I say about Jaxon? He was amazing. Can we clone him? His passion for his people was outstanding. Where are the politicians who really care about the people? This story was so much more than just these two characters. It was about healing, loving yourself, recognizing that God loves you and knowing what true love looks like between a man and woman.
The nuggets of wisdom that were sprinkled throughout this story will bless you, it may even set you free from something that has you in bondage.
Jaxson is what I look for in a man. Intelligent, strong, a leader, a gentleman! Love at 1st sight is not what he expected while having lunch with his parents. Luana is a waitress and Jaxson is running for mayor but needs a wife to soften his image and appeal to his community. Lulu becomes his rib by force but then he realizes it's fate and she's meant to be his wife! You never know how your childhood experiences will effect your adult relationships! This book has me questioning whether or not I've properly dealt with an absentee father. It gets deep, it makes you think and it challenges you! I loved every single page of this story! Draws you in quickly as you take a ride through love, lust, trust and growth. B. Love this is a masterpiece! Keep challenging us to dig deep within ourselves, keep pushing us to love ourselves more until we are rewarded with the love we demand from Others!
I swear, this book was so good. Like so good I'm going to force all of my friends to read it. I feel like this book was what love should look like. Real love with patience, kindness, and the fullness of understanding. It was a grown kind of love. Not what you see in a lot of books with infidelity, lies, and etc. passing it off as errors in love. No this love was about knowing what's important to you and never failing yourself by forgetting that. It was love from the soul. If you want to read about love that encompasses your spirit, mind, and being; a real moving kind of love, the kind that you hear about, not only will you find it here but it will teach you how to find it outside in you REAL lives.
I'm speechless right now. How can I put into words how much this story truly meant to me?? First, Jaxon and Luana were two people who were brought together for a common goal, a Fulfillment of a dream. But what ended up happening was a joining of Soles. Can I just say, Luana's speech at that discussion was the truth!! I could not stand Faith, but when Luana spoke with her in that office I had to stop reading for a second. All of that knowledge she dropped!! B Love I have to say, you truly have a gift. A gift that needs to be shared with the world. Your passion for our issues, our culture, our lives, what a joy to experience. Jaxon Jeffries has my vote!!
This book was filled with so many different truths and gems. I felt so many emotions as this read was not only a "book." It was a learning experience. An eye opener. I thoroughly enjoyed the depths of the messages on love, patience, fear, acceptance, loyalty and having peace. The patience displayed on Jaxon's behalf during their (Jaxon and Luana) back and forth was admirable. I loved the drive Luana had and so many parts of this book made me smile genuinely. Now, Faith... I sooooo used Veronica for Haves and Have Nots. Her attitude and rudeness fit perfect. I was cheering when Luana got her together though. Great read.
The knowledge, the power, and the love in this beautiful story was amazing. Where else can you get your dose of Jesus and life poured into your soul. They don't call her the Master storyteller for nothing the woman is ruthless with a pen. As unconventional as Jaxon and Luana's story was it was perfect for them. I love how this novel brought 1 Corinthians 13:4-13 to life with two beautifully imperfect people. You dropped some gems with this one B! I hope the Masses catch it. Keep spreading your gift to the world. Black women need the hope that is you. This is certified gold, I can't wait for the next release. #foreverstanning
If you're reading this review stop reading and go get this book! Man when I tell you B's books will make you evaluate your life I mean just that. The knowledge that she includes in her stories are everything. I loved Jax and LuLu together BUT what I loved even more was how Lu realized that she needed to love HERSELF before she could love someone else. So many women fail to do this and wonder why their relationships fail. I recommend this book to anyone who struggles with self love. I'm sure I'll read this again because it's just that good!!
B. Love omg!! This book I can't even put into words! Thank you for your skill and bringing your words to life. I felt every emotion, I love reading a book where an author can pull you in, and make you believe you are that character. Wow you made me want to slap Ana and just take Jaxon home to meet my family because she didn't want him. Lolol But I understood that when your not together your not able to receive it , and or give love to the RIGHT Person!! A lot of knowledge was dropped in this book and I know it could help a lot of people. This book was amazing and I am definitely referring it!!
This story is very amazing to me because it's the beginning of a relationship that will be built on a strong foundation because of the two souls that are united. I'm glad that they're respecting boundaries and listening to each other, I mean really listening to each other's needs. When I read this story this scripture came to mind. Now I beseech you brethren by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ that ye all speak the same thing and that there will be no divisions among you but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgement. 1 Corinthians 1:10. Great Read!
Once I started reading, I couldn't stop. I was intrigued by the characters. I promise B.Love's books make you want the type of love that she pens about in her books. I start to question if this type of love exist outside of urban fiction. lol. The type of love that Luana describes about sole mates. I found my new favorite book couple in Luana and Jaxon. This book was very deep. Very captivating. Enduring and intriguing. It made me think too during certain chapters. Overall, it was inviting, and loving, and very heartfelt. I am about to start If You Ever Change Your Mind soon as I submit this review
The message alone from this book made it a good read. The author has used these characters to basically tell us.... we all we got, and if we valued that more, we could be so much further.
Once you add the relationship between Lulu and Jaxon on top of the message, everything just comes full circle. They needed each other more than they even knew. I am excited and interested to read the next book in this series because I still have worries about Lucas and Lulu and them separating in a healthy manner.
I was supposed to be taking a break from studying. What happened was I didn't put the book down until I was done. Jaxon & Luana were perfect for each other in every way. He needed a wife and was too busy saving his people. She wanted to be loved and was scared when it came knocking. They couldn't help but love each other because they leveled out each other. Please don't let this be the end of these two. Maybe a part 2 or a prominent role in books to come. I can't wait for the next book!
I love Jaxon && Luana's love story. I like how the book hit on reasons why kids face insecurities as adults from lack of love, attention, and parenting from their parents that causes them to look for "mommy" and "daddy" substitutes in all the wrong people. I like how the book intertwined how African Americans don't support one another and the effects of how the males have been removed from the household which results into women thinking they're independent and don't need a man syndrome. I can't wait to read Lukas and Hali's story.
WOW! Like really! I can't tell you that this is a masterpiece, because you already know! I can't say that this is AMAZING, because, again you know that!! I really enjoyed this story! It's an eye opener to many things that I never really gave thought about. Eye opener about how LOVE, SOLE mates, LOYALTY, and TRUST all connects into something as beautiful!!! I can't wait to hear the update on them😍😍😍😍
This was an amazing love story. Different from the norm. That therapy session with Luana, Lucas, and their parents was so deep and emotional. And Luana's answer about love and solemates at the relationship summit was soooo deep. As usual, this story had me in my feelings and self-reflecting. I can't wait to read about Lucas and Hali!! I am so interested in her because she has such a small part in the book. Where is my Jaxon lol.
"Are you really going to love me to the end of my life....no I'll meet you in heaven and love you still". What powerful words. ...what powerful emotions they invoke! The knowledge B. Love is pouring out in this book is on time. With the state of our Black families, the Black community, mental health and the quest to improve wealth in our communities, this book touches on it all. Please 1-click and enjoy this love story as you are enlightened as well!
I loved this book. Jax and Lulu are wonderful characters. They learned so much about themselves before they were able to commit to each other. That is an aspect of life that many people overlook. What each of us bring toward a relationship should be able to sustain the other. I loved the message of working on yourself in order to present your best self to your mate. Very powerful book. Loved every minute.
This book was evvverryytthing I literally could not put it down. Wow what an amazing journey luana and jax had . I relate so much to Luana and lucus relationship, only trusting one person for so long and no one else until you fall in love and have to learn to trust someone else it was brilliant b like you write about things I can always relate to I love you so much for this one tho it was absolutely beautiful! Keep it up !!!!
B. Love is an amazing story teller. Her skills and knowledge is beyond phenomenal she will draw you in and make you love her. Once you read a B. Love book that is how you are going to feel about her. If you want to know about love and relationships this is the author you need to read. She will make you think about what is going on in your life with your own relationship. All I can do is respect for the knowledge she pens and thank her for sharing it.
