Journey to Forever

Rate this book
“One moment in time changes everything.”Upon meeting Lucius for the first time, Anna immediately senses a connection more powerful than common attraction. But life is rarely straightforward, and being respectfully married, both feel constricted about sharing their feelings. With her own becoming increasingly obsessive, Anna becomes desperate to find out why destiny has brought them together. With the help of a friend, she probes her subconscious mind for answers, uncovering other lifetimes where they were ill-fated lovers, drawn apart by cruel circumstances time after time.

Amidst their social constraints, both find themselves caught in a web of intense feelings as the mystery unravels across timelines with parallels and the same key characters playing out their roles. Anna eventually discovers the thread responsible for binding them in this drawn-out tragedy set in a bygone lifetime in Native America.

Can the curse, at long last, be broken?

“Journey to Forever”

Author Jane has seamlessly woven together a story that unfolds across two timelines: the Borhincha Tribe in Southwest America (1701 BC) and Hamilton Leys in Southwest England (2001 AD). The concept of merging the five elements, nature, spiritual practices, modern medicine, and healing hands was very engaging. Another intriguing aspect was the idea of past-life regression. The past affecting the future beyond a single lifetime is something I find deeply thought-provoking. Because of this, I felt more connected to this book than to any of the other books I have read by Author Jane.

The Borhincha Tribe timeline was beautifully written. It was emotional to witness the journey that Anjahuna and Munshunka had to endure. The Hamilton Leys timeline was equally captivating, with its memorable characters and many ups and downs. Oh, poor Anna… to think that she had to endure all those memories, only to finally find the answers and let them go… The connection between Anna and Lucius was both powerful and profound in both timelines. The weight of love and destiny… so heavy, so deeply woven into the fabric of their souls, and so impossible to escape. I did wish there had been more to read about the aftermath. However, the story reached a satisfying conclusion, leaving readers to fill in the rest with their imagination. Overall, I found this novel to be a very fulfilling read.

“Oh love, you fickle friend
With no predictable end.
Attraction will blind and gag,
Then tears remind you what you had.”

I really enjoyed this book, it felt different from my usual reads in the best way. The dual timelines were fascinating and connected beautifully at the end. I especially loved the Native American storyline and the care that clearly went into the research. The quotes at the start of each chapter were such a thoughtful touch and added even more meaning to the story. The romance between Anna and Lucius was emotional and compelling, with a soul-deep pull that made their connection feel timeless. It’s both heartbreaking and hopeful, a story of love, destiny, and healing that lingers long after the last page.

A beautifully written novel that blends modern life with past lives in a way that feels seamless. The connection between Anna and Lucius is powerful, and the dual timelines give the story real depth. I especially enjoyed how the past slowly unraveled and explained the present. It keeps you turning the pages. I also liked the quotes and the font of the chapter titles, so beautiful. A book about love, destiny, and the weight of memory.

beautiful

I would normally cringe at a novel where either the heroine or hero is already in a relationship, but Journey to Forever was beautifully written. I absolutely loved the dual timelines! The chemistry between Anna and Lucius felt so real, and their story had me hooked from start to finish. Don’t even get me started on the tissues I needed. This book had me all in my feels! I promise you, I’ll definitely be reading more from Jane C.R. Reid!

This is a beautifully written dual-timeline novel that is both sentimental and historical. I loved the Native American timeline, since I so rarely get to read novels about that period. The way the two timelines theme's ultimately connect is well thought through. This is an author to watch.
