Scarlett and her daughters are recovering from all they've been through since their family fell apart and then being sucked into two murder investigations. Scarlett is further devastated by her life-long best friend leaving town, and she's showing the strain.
Her family finally convinces Scarlett to stop working so hard and take a break. She finds a babysitter she trusts and takes some time for herself. When she comes home, she finds her daughters alone, her babysitter missing, and a disturbing foretelling that has been left behind.

This is the 3rd book in this series and I really enjoy the concept with its magical residents, including Druids and witches. Scarlett has returned home with her two gifted daughters after a failed marriage to a normal, and is trying to make a new loving home life for them, complete with family and friends. But things go wrong when her ex-husband shows up unexpectedly in town demanding to visit with his girls...children he once called "freaks" in anger. But worse than his presence is the fact that he is soon the main suspect in a murder. Scarlett has to clear his name, if only for the sake of her daughters. I love the growing relationships Scarlett has with her sister and mother, as well as her young girls. I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 because I felt like it lacked some depth and emotion that the first two stories had. Having said that, I already have the next book on preorder!
Scarlett is every mother who has faced divorce with children. She is all that and more because of her being druid, but most women will really RELATE to Scarlett. The mystery is right there also; the answers come quickly and it's interesting. But the real story is about Scarlett and a mother's love.
Join Scarlett and her family facing more problems in mystic cove, this time her ex husband turns up with his new wife in tow wanting to see the girls, add to the mix a nasty customer who winds up dead, can Scarlett solve the murder this time for her daughters sake .
I've really come to enjoy this series as I've been reading it! Gus needs to come back...and Scarlet needs to faceplant, I'm anxious to see who with. I love Harper and Quentin! So cute! Maeve needs her own series, with a little help from time to time by her sisters!! Hint hint This is a must read series for any mystery lover!
A fun, interesting cozy murder mystery written around a large family of druids who live in a town almost all populated with people who have magic. Intersting characters and stories that not only keep you interested, but make you want to read more of their stories.
