Perfect Storm

Rate this book
What do you do when your best friend asks you and your (now) ex to be the best men at his destination wedding? You can either tell him the truth, tell him you’re not together anymore, and deal with the consequences, or you can pretend you’re still together and roll with it, just pray you don’t spiral. Fake it ‘til you make it. You know, for the sake of the wedding.

Harry and Louis choose the latter.

Did it hurt so bad? Yes
But was it worth it? Definitely

Perfect storm was my first fanfiction since... well way too long and I picked it up because I really needed a little bit of sunshine in my life. Don't ask why I chose a break-up fic for this, because I honestly don't know... at first it made everything worse as my babies were fighting!!!

However, since they're faking being still together for their best friend's wedding, at least we get to see them spend time joking and flirting. This plus the flashbacks really made me want them back together. And hey it maybe the journey was a litte rough at times, but in the end we got there :)

The author chose to switch pov midway through the story from Harry to Louis and I think that decision was perfect because while Lou kind of got on my nerves in the first part, we understood that he is acting as he is because he is really hurt in the second part.

read it in mostly one sitting, and it's long lol
the first part was a fucking delight, so well written, and the backstory was well displayed.
I had a bit of a rougher time with the end of the book but I would gladly read again the first part. it was really entertaining and endearing

I really liked this, but at the same time, I kind of... didn't. It was sweet and heartwarming but there it kinda ends. I just feel like there was something missing.
There's lots of flashbacks and memories and it's confusing. They randomly pop up with no title, no mention that it's not the present day and that made me kinda mad to be honest because sometimes I could not tell right away that it, in fact, was a memory.

it’s a 3.5 ⭐️

i liked it a lot.
it wasn’t a 100% for me, just because it felt like it was missing something the entire time.
however, i loved them as them, their dynamic was so pretty, the whole fixing things was so healthy and honest which made it very beautiful.
and yeah overall i get why someone would love this, personally i don’t LOVE it, but i do like it a lot, it was such a fun read, and i enjoyed myself because it was exactly what i needed at the moment.
