Garett Groves is a new M/M romance author based in Southwest Florida. There he enjoys spending time with his husband and their two cats. Their hobbies include: being disgustingly codependent, sleeping, eating junk food, and drinking copious amounts of red wine. Sadly, their cats don't share in the wine drinking--yet!
Book 1: SALT & PEPPER A bed & breakfast, insecurities and the usual sassy friend are elements of the Tim & Ryan love connection. Book 2: SUGAR & SPICE A mixture of shallowness, self fulfilling prophecies and materialism make for the Lucas & Max dynamic relationship. Book 3: MILK & HONEY The fake boyfriend ploy with Lance & Dave. Nothing new or refreshing here. Overall, I was detracted by the superficial and inauthentic story telling or missing details or the lack of follow through. What happen at Ryan’s art exhibit? The younger guys seemed more mature than their much older boyfriends. What with the crying at the drop of the hat. (Don’t get me wrong, boys are allowed to cry or tear-up but the crying in these stories is a bit over the top!) Finally, there is some interest here but the writing is detracting!
Sagatauck? Might as well have been small town nowhere
It takes a lot to get a book ready to show the world. No small accomplishment but that's what the 2 stars are for here. It felt like an immature attempt to do happily ever after. I want 39-45 year old adults to act like adults. No crying cuz someone hurt your feelings by calling you old. No half baked plots that are so asinine a 10 year old knows they will blow up. Badly written sex scenes, 5 pages on cooking an omelette (kill me now) and dialogue that just went flat - or hokey or using words in casual conversation that just seem off. we had insta lust based on nothing. And feelings by the characters that the author was unable to convey to the reader. Harsh? Probably. Potential? I hope so.
Nice series about 3 friends in their 20s who all hook up with men in their 40s. Complications ensue. Although there were parts of each story I did not like (the characters did really dumb things that led to breakups which led to reconciliations), overall, I loved the story. Easy reading nd convenient to have the entire series in one owed set. Ideal for people who enjoy sex scenes that aren't too graphic.
Three complete novels, focused on a couple, fitting the tropes of age difference, societal class and friend- or enemies-to-lovers. The younger triplets: Ryan, Max, and Lance are 23yo "sisters " in a lakefront town. Career challenges prompt each into relationships with men in their 40s. The earlier stories blend into the next, friendships firm as maturity colors the pairings.
I chose this rating because I found these books to be heartwarming and sincere. These May December couples were what life is all about. If you think life is all roses then you are living in a dream.People struggle with issues everyday but some have no one to help them to see their worth. These men show us what can happen when you do.
This is an amazing collection of all 3 books. I can't tell you how much I love this series. Garett is a great author and I can't wait for more of his work!
I gave up midway through Book 1 when I realized I found the characters interchangeable & had to keep referring back to see “who was who”. Disappointing because the blurb sounded good.
Stopped after first book in the series. Second book surrounded two characters I didn't like in the first book, so had no interest in reading further. Books could really use an editor.
