This brings me up to date with all Steve's books, and I have to be honest, I struggled with the first half of this one. I don't know why that was. I was stop/start. I read two other books before reaching 50%...

But, that second 50%! Now we are talking. Maybe I didn't fully understand? I'll see what other reviewers have said. My advice is to stick with it. The second half is 5* material, as I've come to expect, but the first was enough to bring the overall average down to the 4* I've rated it.

There were a fair few little mistakes (often speech marks missing at one end of the conversation) but nothing too horrendous, and as always, a luxurious style of telling a story is displayed. Just maybe, for me, and for the first time, a little too much in the first half. But that might be just me.

I would recommend it...stick with it, glean what you can from the first half, because you are in for a strong finish!
