Miami’s number one couple is back for one final round. Part two of the get me right again series left off with some news that kept everyone on their toes. What’s going to happen with Shaniqua and the baby? Will the baby be strong enough to survive? Then, there’s Desmond’s grandmother; the woman who raised him ever since he was a little boy. Did she survive those gun shots that Vick gave her? There are so many questions that need to be answered, and this final installment will take you on a very extreme emotional roller coaster. Shaniqua and Desmond have had curve ball after curve ball thrown at them ever since they solidified their relationship, but can one curve ball be the end? Can this Miami couple finally get it right and receive that happily ever after that every couple dreams about?
Yassssssss Diamond Johnson came through and showed out with this book. Of course she never disappoints and I love this series. Desmond was man of all men and knew how to treat his women like a queen that she is. I loved Shaniqua cause she was just a regular girl wanting that real love and at the end found it when she least expected it from someone she knew for a long time. My opinion I think I would have been more satisfied if Desmond would have off Harlem. Overall excellent read!!
I thoroughly enjoyed the last book of the series, but there were a few things that weren't resolved, namely the situation with the baby mama. Oh well....
It was a good read and worth the cost.👍🏾🔥👍🏾🔥👍🏾🔥👍🏾🔥👍🏾🔥

The good: I love this crew. Love finding out where they are in life and seeing the characters grow. I love the way Dee loves Sha, even when she is being a brat. Love that Shaniqua was able to step up and care for Milan as her own and pray that their relationship stay tight.
Not really sure why the editing stopped at 67%, but you really need to get a 33% refund from whoever you used. It was punctuation missing, names mixed up [Heaven vs Harlem] and just one typo after another. I always wondered where Milan was when Desmond and Shaniqua were together.
I am happy that they ended on a good note. Happily ever after makes a great story.
Not a bad read but it dragged a bit. It was repetitive throughout I honestly think this could have been a 2 Part book after it dragged it just started moving to fast what the he'll happen to Harlem?? I gave it 4 stars because I love the characters and there were few errors...Definitely looking forward to her next series..
There’s nothing that I dislike about the your book it’s really a good book I love all your books that I read so far I would recommend this book to everybody I wish that you would come out with book 4 of getting me right again
OMG Shaniqua Rogers and Desmond Rogers went thru hell and back.
Shaniqua and Desmond have been thru so much in the last two years. Shaniqua as went thru so much hurt and pain. From going thru abusive relationship, Cheating,Lieing, Unworthy , Low self-esteem, Disloyalty. Shaniqua Rogers wanted to be relationship where she matter to someone. She had miscarriage and it was a painful experience she felt she was being punished for the two abortions she had with Travis. Chase drugged Shaniqua and raped her and destroyed her condominium and tried to kill her. What kind of mother would let someone one violated her child Harlem with her trifling, conniving, jealous, Lies, betrayal. Vick was Harlem cousin who was 2 time felony who rape and assault women. Vic attack Shaniqua and violated Milan Harlem and Desmond daughter. Vic killed Desmond grandmother who raised and took him after his parents died in an car accident. Vic killed her because he know it would hurt him deeply. Guess who give him the address she put her in harm's way which lead to her murder Harlem because she hate Desmond and Shaniqua for taking Milan from. She didn't deserve to be Milan mother after what she let her cousin do to violate her child . Krista was the one that Chase cheated on Shaniqua with he left her she wanted Shaniqua back she couldn't accept the fact Shaniqua moved on with someone else. Krista cheating on Chase with her cousin Julius. The was crazy love triangle which was a dangerous situation that blow out of hand. Shaniqua open up her make-up business entrepreneur. Desmond and Shaniqua gets married in Mexico in a drunken stupor. Chase and Harlem get closer with out her realizing she was with in danger and almost slept with enemy. Chase goes thru a murderous jealous rage and kills Krista and her and Julius unborn child that wasn't his he loved her. Krista loved Chase but she really loved Julius. Julius vowed to kill his cousin Chase because she killed Krista the love his life and his unborn child who didn't survive. Chase was crazy in the head she had no remorse for killing Krista and Julius but he survived. Then Shaniqua Rogers and Desmond founds out she was pregnant with twins they are so nervous and Shaniqua was scared to death. Shaniqua Rogers was blessed with a loving husband and family despite some obstacles she went thru. Shaniqua Rogers got a house, and cars for her birthday in the same day. Chase is shoot and killed in a drive by shooting by her cousin the day of Shaniqua birthday celebration . She was spotted by Shaniqua brother circle around the parking lot by Jah her brother. Her brother Jaheim was also Blessed as well by having a loving wife and beautiful family. Jah and Desmond leave the celebration to follow Chase she is murder right before there eyes. Desmond gets information from one of his client about the where about Vic been hiding out he at one of his baby mother house. Vic baby mother is shot and killed Desmond wanted to kill the child he just couldn't bring himself to do it. Vic is tortured and killed by Desmond and Jah for back-up he ask him did Harlem his baby mama had anything to do with his grandmother murder he knew if he rat her out he would kill her. He felt bad enough for touching their daughter inappropriately. Desmond ask Shaniqua to remarry him again the right way 3 months after she had the twins he never took his daughter back to Harlem because she was a unfit mother who selfishly let jealous and lies made her loss her daughter for good. Desmond realize he was nothing without his wife and kids because he lost so much already. I'm glad this book ended in a happy ending.
I’m reviewing all three books in this series together because I went straight from one to the next without stopping to write anything, and by the time I finished, everything blended together scene-wise. So this is my full experience reading the series as a whole.
Going in, I already knew this was a spin-off from the Little Miami Girl: Antonia & Jaheim series. Sheniqua is Jah’s sister, and Desmond works in Jah’s tattoo shop while running businesses of his own, so the connection is immediate and familiar. But early on, I realized something felt… off. There were subtle timeline and character changes that had me confused, like learning Jah and Sheniqua’s dad is now a pastor when we last knew him as a dealer who killed the man who SA’d his wife. Then Sheniqua casually refers to her mom as the pastor’s wife and I’m sitting there like, wait… what did I miss?
That’s when I went searching and found out there’s a missing bridge book: Christmas in Miami: Antonia & Jaheim. And apparently a LOT of major plot points happen there. Around book 2 or 3, it’s revealed that Antonia lost a baby because her cousin Porsha poisoned her, and I was completely thrown because the last time we saw them in Little Miami Girl, they were trying to mend their relationship. Again… something that happened in the Christmas special that I could not find anywhere to read.
So the reason this series gets 4 stars instead of 5 is purely because of that confusion. Too many times I found myself reading and thinking, “Wait… what?” and that takes you out of the story. Since Little Miami Girl is easily in my top 20 comfort rereads, I would’ve loved to experience everything in order from that series → the Christmas special → then this spin-off. Not being able to access that middle piece made certain emotional moments feel incomplete.
Now to the actual story.
I really did enjoy this series overall. Sheniqua is clearly spoiled by Jah and their father, and Desmond stepping in as a counterbalance made for an interesting dynamic. Sometimes I felt like he was a little too hard on her, but you could tell it came from love and wanting her to grow. He didn’t let her run over him, and I respected that.
I absolutely HATED Vick, and I’m glad things turned out the way they did there. Chase got exactly what she deserved too. I do feel like Harlem should have suffered a little more for her role in certain situations, but I won’t get into details to avoid spoilers. And I low-key wish Julius had gotten more page time because I was interested in him.
My heart really went out to Lottie. I kept hoping something positive would come out of everything she endured because she truly deserved that kind of redemption moment.
All in all, it was a strong, engaging continuation of this world and these characters I already loved. Even with the confusion from the missing bridge story, the plot kept me locked in and emotionally invested the entire way through.
It looks like there’s another offshoot that brings the characters together again: Hood Love on Christmas: Jah & Antonia, where the kids are older and PJ is entering his teenage years. And thankfully, that one is actually available — so that’s where I’m headed next.
Chase, Harlem, and Vick had all lost their minds by playing games with people lives and thinking there wouldn't be any repercussions. Chase may have had a mental illness due to childhood and the abuse from her mother she suffered from but she knew what she was doing. Making Desmond, Jah, and Julius a enemy was something she should have thought about because it didn't end well for her. Harlem bitterness and jealousy lead her to do the unthinkable. With her involving her cousin Vick into her sick and twisted plan and into her home. It backfired on her. She also thought Chase would be the answer but you can't win, when you're playing dirty. Vick truly trifling and sickening for what he did to Milan and Ms. Lottie. He already knew coming for Desmond was the wrong thing to do. Shaniqua was tired of the drama. After dealing with her own loss. She focused on her business while also trying to be there for her husband. In the end and dealing with one thing after the other. Things were finally looking up for her and Desmond
This was a good read with great characters and an awesome storyline! I really enjoy Diamond Johnson's work! This story would have been a 5✡ book but there were just too many grammatical errors to over look. At one point Harlem was called Heaven...and I had to go back to see if I had missed something. Also Harlem was a main character in the midst of.most.of.the conflict., And she disappeared without any of the consequences that Dee kept promising her! In addition Sha being able to give birth was also a big part of the story witch I would have personally liked to experience...... especially after experiencing the birth of Jah lll, but the twins just showed up for the wedding! Again these are just something that I was looking forward to experienceing....but I ended up short! I will continue to read Diamonds work as I think that she is very talented and creative!!!!
I thought the girl in “My Good Girl” was annoying but Shaniqua was beyond!! Let’s start with her getting punched in the mouth by Vic, now a man should never hit a woman but she was poppin off and thought she was bad Then you have her simp husband say that they are in sync with one another therefore when he can to the bed she knew it was him well I’m she must have been in sync with Chase because she sure was mowing and groaning when she snuck in her apartment. Shaniqua was soooooo selfish yes she had a miscarriage but her husband’s grandmother was shot 7 times hun down and she made it all about her.
Demond at first I thought he was too mature for Shaniqua but they’re one of a kind. His reaction to his grandmother getting killed was very light he hit that unexpected call and carried on going to the hospital with his wife.
Vic deserved to die but not his baby momma. I could go on and out
I like Diamond Johnson as an author, but sis really needs someone to proofread her material before submitting her books. Typos and wrong names in all her books. Even though I enjoy her books, the men that she writes about throw more tantrums than the women do. It’s either their way or no way. They talk to their women like they’re their children instead of their wives. Desmond was very cocky and demanding and expected Sha to obey his every command. It was almost like there was no compromising on his behalf and she just had to get with his program. He’d say or do something to her and he’d make her feel like she had to take him back or deal with his ways. Meanwhile he made her feel like a crybaby for having feelings, standing up for herself and just being a strong willed woman.
I loved this series. I fell in love with the characters. There was definitely a story to be told. Butter baby mamas turn me off. Harlem was definitely a bitter baby mama. For the life of me, I don't understand her bitterness. Desmond provided for her. He was only obligated to provide for his child. Somethings, I guess I will never understand about people. She assisted in the murder of Desmond's grandmother. I would never let my child be around her either. She was blessed to keep her life.
I just loved how they slid in the story about Porsha and Antonia because I was shocked. I also would have loved to find out how Antonia got reaquainted with her grandparents. As far as Shaniqua and Desmond he isn't my idea of a dream man but I loved that for her. I hate that every story has some form of trauma and I dont agree with him keeping his daughter away from Harlem even though she wasnt a good person but she did love her daughter even though her daughter was harmed in her care
I'm glad they finally got there happy ending This couple been through it all Desmond and shaniqua were made for each other I felt bad about Krista but chase got what see deserve her and Vick Bad judgement caused Harlem to lose her daughter can't trust nobody with your kids especially when they can't tell you what happened Grandma is smiling Desmond And shaniqua got her wish great way to close out a book
This book was the ultimate because I didn't think that they would get it together. I love how Desmond and Shaniqua loved each other as well as family. My heart fell as creepy Vick was foul the entire time while at stupid Harlem's house. This book gives me a whole different outlook about a thug man who is about working hard and loving just as hard to achieve success in life.
This was definitely one of another favorite series. It's sad that people will do crazy things to get revenge by harming innocent ppl. Desmond grandma again didn't deserve what happened to her but am glad Desmond got the person back. Chase she was just messy and deserved what happened to her. Harlem she was a horrible mom to even allow a nasty slime as her cuzzin to be in the same house as her child knowing his rep. I am glad everyone else got their happy ending.
Desmond went through soooooo much in this book. I didn't think they were going to make it. Chase and Vic thank you Jesus. Krista I kinda felt bad almost a little. Harlem Harlem Harlem poor tink tink. Julius I felt so bad for him. Overall I'm sad to see this story end hopefully we can get a part 4.
Diamond def did not let me down with book 3. I lol love me some shaniqua and desmond. Thank goodness both Chase and Vick got what they deserved. Harlem got lucky and got off just a little easy for me. Def going to miss shaniqua Desmond Antonia and jah. Great job diamond and I'm to the next!
This was a great continuation to this series. They say when it rain, it pours but Dee and Sha run straight through it. I admire the family and friendship bond they were surround by. Vic and Chase got what they deserved. I hate for this series to end.
I really enjoyed this series. The plots were great and was a real page turner. When I read The little Miami girl, I always wondered about Jah's sister. So I am very happy that Shaniqua found love. They had so many obstacles going against them. They found their calm and weathered the storm.
Diamond I want to thank you for writing this series. Shaniqua and Desmond was such an awesome read. I didn't think I would love another couple more than Antonia and Jah Lmao. You made Sha and Dee come to life and I wish I could give you so many more stars. Awesome read another Awesome series
This was a great ending like always I'm just sad that Harlem didn't get what was coming to her but guess not being able to see your daughter is enough get back but I was happy everyone got what was coming to them and one of my favorite couples got a happy ending
This was such a great series. I loved all the couples but my favorite was Desmond and Shaniqua. You just had to love Desmond he was a go getter and you didn't mess with what was his. Shaniqua was down for her man and her family loved their relationship. The author did a wonderful job with the flow of this book well written.
Great Read from beginning to end. l love the chemistry between Shaniqua and Dez. I love the protective nature Dez had for Shaniqua and enjoyed how he showed it. What a very beautiful story filled with my fav, drama and more drama to take in and learn from. Great Read! ReneeG 👍.
This series is so lit. My girl and my dude went through a lot and came out on top. I loved reading more of them. U did good on yet another book and I'm looking forward to reading more of them. Sitting here patting my feet while sipping on Pepsi and while waiting on the next book to read
This finale series was the bomb…Only thing I didn’t like is when Desmond killed Vic girlfriend…she didn’t have anything to do with anything…I was glad that Chase and Vic got killed…Harlem got off easy but if Desmond is still paying her bills when she doesn’t have her child is a no no…Can’t wait to read another one of your books
This book is a great read the more I read Diamond books, the more I become a fan of hers. I would recommend that everyone read not only this book but all of her books
This was a nice way to end the series. Desmond and Shaniqua were two peas in the pod, she was him and he was her. Vick and Chase got everything they deserved and I'm sad to see the series end but on to another good series that I know this author is going to bring.
even though Desmond and Shaniqua relationship seemed rushed to me i loved their genuine love that they had for each other. the story was well put together and there was no strings hanging when the story ended. well i did have one question but its not that important. great series
