Lost in Scotland #2

A Scottish Wedding

Rate this book
Fans of Lost in Scotland will love revisiting the heather-covered highlands as Sam and Hugh try to make their happily-ever-after a reality in this follow-up novel!
FROM "THE DAILY GOSSIP":

TYING THE KNOT!
Ladies, Hugh MacLeod is off the market! We caught up with the sexy hunk from Abarath and his fiancée, makeup artist Sam Farouk at an event in Edinburgh. The pair met last year while working together on season one. The Scottish actor looked handsome in a tailored dark grey suit, while the raven-haired beauty at his side turned heads in a golden lamé gown which channeled the iconic Marilyn Monroe dress of the same color. Ms. Farouk played coy when asked about the engagement, only revealing that the ring belonged to Hugh’s grandmother. With a dreamy look to her groom-to-be, Ms. Farouk confessed his proposal was “fairytale worthy." MacLeod charmingly deflected each one of our questions about season two of Abarath, saying he would get in trouble if he told us anything. When we asked if a date had been set yet, the engaged couple looked at each other for a brief second. Soon, they replied in unison in a way that turned us into mush. Ms. Farouk added that it will all depend on Hugh’s schedule and his commitment with the show. We wish the very best to the groom and the bride-to-be and we hope to bring you more news about their upcoming nuptials!

More time with Hugh and Sam and in Scotland! What’s not to love?!

Writing style: Dual POVs
Cover and chapter designs: The cover is gorgeous, and I love the fuchsia color chapter titles.

Well, I loved it! I didn’t have any doubts I would since I have been a fan of this talented author since her debut novel Prude.

Jumping right into Sam and Hugh “playing house” in the cute little cottage Hugh bought for them was so welcome. And then devious Sam quickly came up with the best covert surprise wedding plan, ha! Not to be outdone though, Hugh also had a wedding gift surprise under his kilt so to speak. I loved how their friends and family collaborated with each of them to pull off both surprises. The insecurities both experienced as they tried to figure out when they could get married during their busy filming schedule were realistic and not over-the-top dramatic. Personally, I always enjoy pop culture references of which there were plenty. And of course, the humor and sexy times between these two film industry professionals were stellar.

Swoony and Sweet!!
A Scottish Wedding gives us more from Sam and Hugh!! We get to see more of the foundation of love they are building on as they plan for a future together.

"Passionate, brave, and steady, he seemed to have a gift for making me feel grounded when life threw curveballs that had me spinning. I was reminded that he was absolutely the one for me, the only one I wanted to build a family with."

I love catching up with this amazing couple as they learn how to be together and blend their lives. In Lost in Scotland, Hilaria Alexander made me fall in love with these characters and in A Scottish Wedding, she brought them back to me.

3.5 stars.

I adored Hugh and Samhain, loved that they got their wedding!! Finally!!
The first part was a bit "messy" to me, the second half was so much better. Even if I love these characters to pieces, I was expecting something different.

Full review to come.

I adored Hugh and Samhain, loved that they got their wedding!! Finally!!
This novella supposed to be a glimpse of the Hugh and Sam’s after their HEA in Lost in Scotland. It was split in two phases:

The first part was more like the honeymoon phase, these two having it everywhere, couldn't help to keep their hands off each other. It was just repetitive to me, some parts as how they were managing to keep a bit of sanity with Hugh’s filming schedule, to maintain a balance on their lives was well written. I wanted to see more of this. I loved the slow burn romance in Lost in Scotland and I missed it.

The second part was better handled, because of the preparation of the wedding, such a big surprise and I don't think I wouldn't imagine a better way to read how they finally tied the knot. That part was more rhythmic and catchy, more entertaining. As much that I don't mind some sexy bits from time to time, it was good to read something more than just these moments.

What bothered me in the first place was the sex parts, there were too many to me mostly on the first part, the second half was so much better. Even if I love these characters to pieces, I was expecting things differently, that would added something more to Hugh and Samhain’s story.

A Scottish Wedding is the sequel to Lost in Scotland by Hilaria Alexander. This book begins where book one ends with Hugh proposing to Sam. I really enjoyed book one and this one too! It was so easy to fly through! I love the characters and the authors writing style. In this book they are trying to plan a wedding and Hugh is having some insecurities etc.In the end it all goes as it should. I love the playlist and Everlong is really a great love song. The beginning of the book is a lot of sexy time. And I was fine with it. By the last half of the book it's all wedding planning stuff. I really enjoyed getting to see more of Sam and Hugh. If the author wrote another book I hope it's titled “baby in Scotland” or something I'd love to see this couple go through a pregnancy together. I have to say my favorite was the ending and how sam pulled off what she pulled off. Super romantic and swooney. These are the kinds of books that you kind of want to swoon at the romantic stuff but also kind of barf because it's too sweet hahaha! Anyway Hugh is pretty much the perfect love interest. 1. He wears kilts 2. He's Scottish 3. Blue eyes 4.unruly hair 5. Gorgeous. Gah. I could keep going. Anyway great book and characters. I hope their are more! 4 star rating.

A Scottish Wedding by Hilaria Alexander a fab four-star read. This is the second book in the lost in Scotland series, and I loved the first book and thought this was a great second book. This does follow on from Lost in Scotland in that Hugh proposed to Sam in that book and this shows us everything that leads up to the wedding, while you don’t have to have read the first book to get the whole story, I would recommend you do as you get the whole picture and it fill us in on all the hearts, flowers and swoons you may otherwise miss.
This book is told from a duel point of view and gives us both sides of the story, it’s easy to see who is telling the story, we get both perspectives to the relationship this helps to keep the story true and gives you the broad picture. It can get a little confusing if you don’t focus at times as it can jump a little, but that could just be me. I loved how this story shows us life is hard and true to life we make decisions that we don’t always like. There are always secrets in life and moments that only we ourselves can understand.
One of my favourite parts of the story was the use of Gaelic it’s only a few words really but it showed a true passion for the history of the setting and was a nice touch.

A Scottish Wedding (Lost in Scotland Book 2) by Hilaria Alexander is the second book in her Lost in Scotland series. I would highly recommend reading the first book in this series as it will help you understand the characters more and make the story flow easier for you. This story is about Sam and Hugh's wedding. I was excited to see that this author had continued Sam and Hugh's journey with a wedding. This author didn't let us down with the first book and she won't in this one either. Her writing style is creative and her characters are connectable and true to life. They just pop right off the page and you will feel like you are right there with them. This story will take you on a roller coaster ride of various emotions you won't want to miss. Find out how their story continues!

Sam and Hugh met while working together during season one. He looked handsome in his tailored gray suit and she the beauty at his side turns head in her golden lame gown. At first they played coy with the engagement to all the press. She just guaranteed it was fairy-tale worthy. When he would be questioned he would just start talking about season two. When asked about the date being set, they would just look at each other. They then would reply depending on his schedule. When will this wedding happen?

Their relationship has been so loving from the beginning. She is so perfect for him, her love and dedication is so sweet and really nice to see. They are so hot, steamy, and sexy together and their wedding will be just as sweet. Their chemistry is awesome and they really do fit together. They make the story flow outside of the fact who doesn't like wedding books. Their story leads up to their wedding and I won't say to much as it will give away all of the dreamy wedding plans. They are so strong, they just want to make each other happy and be together. One thing that I enjoyed most about this story is that you get to see a side of Hugh that we haven't necessarily seen before. It is great to see a man who is so strong have a sensitive side too. The secondary characters are just as great as these two. They are funny and supportive to the main characters. You will just love these characters throughout the whole story. Find out what happens with these two characters as they find their HEA!

This is my third book by Hilaria Alexander and I can't wait to dig into more of her books. Hilaria was born and raised in Italy where her family still lives but she, her husband and children call Oklahoma City their home. She loves books, movies, television and addicted to award shows. She loves music and she uses it for inspiration when plotting new stories. You will enjoy this page turner wedding story. I had a hard time putting this book down as I wanted more and needed to see what was going to happen. It will make you turn page after page as you lose track of time. I highly recommend this book as I know you will want to see if Sam and Hugh finally get their HEA!

Hilaria Alexander takes readers back to Scotland to fall in love with Sam and Hugh all over again in this Lost in Scotland follow-up novel. Picking up right where Lost in Scotland left off, A Scottish Wedding packs plenty of sizzle and tons of feel good moments that are bound to make you grin. Sam and Hugh’s connection is as strong as ever but preparing to say, “I Do” proves to be a little more complicated than either imagines. I enjoyed the ups and downs of this journey, feeling the duo’s frustration and anticipation as my own as they navigated life in the limelight. Hilaria Alexander did a great job using the challenges Hugh and Sam faced to further explore their relationship and even when I wanted to yell at them to get it together, they still gave me all the feels.

Admittedly, the first half of the book was a bit disjointed and I had a hard time staying connected to the storyline. There were so many sexy encounters that the progression of the plot and character development seemed to suffer at the beginning. However, as the second half of the story hit, I was back to being enchanted by the author’s beautiful imagery, witty dialogue and heartfelt emotions. Hilaria Alexander definitely has a knack for completely immersing the reader in her vibrant and socially relevant world. As much as I loved seeing more of Sam and Hugh, I was perhaps equally excited for another dose of the hilarious secondary characters. Sweet, scorching and totally Scottish, this book was a fun, satisfying read for fans of Lost in Scotland. Hilaria Alexander delivers a Hollywood-worthy happily ever after for Sam and Hugh with A Scottish Wedding.

A Scottish Wedding is the sequel to Hilaria's awesome and swoony book, Lost in Scotland.
In this book we get another look at Hugh and Sam and their amazing chemistry. There are more steamy scenes, passion and the honest devotion that Sam and Hugh have for each other.
We get to see other facets of their personalities and how they work as a couple. They have to navigate through their new roles as a couple in the public eye and learn to blend their lives together.
Hilaria does an amazing job transporting us to Scotland, where the weather is often dreary, the fields of heather are breathtaking and Sam & Hugh are planning for their future.

I gave this book 4.5 stars. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. It was so easy to get lost in the story and wrapped up in their love and lives. What I really want to know is... Will there be an Arabeth candle? I want to smell that.

5 Hugh is mine Stars!

I fell in love with Hugh in Lost in Scotland and I was super excited to hear that we'd be getting more of him, and Sam, in A Scottish Wedding.

I thought I couldn't love him and Scotland more, but I was dead wrong. Hilaria's imagery was on point yet again. I felt like I was there with old friends celebrating an epic love.

Much like Lost in Scotland, A Scottish Wedding was about more than just Sam and Hugh's upcoming nuptials. It's about love, trust, and the strength to endure life's hardships. It's steamy, sexy, funny, and the perfect continuation of the perfect couple.

But I'm totally gonna need more Hugh in my life. So I hope we get to see him(and okay, Sam too) in future stories that revolve around these amazing characters.

What a fantastic look into Sam and Huge's HEA! (You need to read Lost in Scotland ) I love how Hilaria gave us a few more reasons to love this couple more. I loved how Sam was still portrayed as a strong and beautiful female character. I enjoyed being able to see more of Huge's sensitive side, his vulnerability in this read was charming and love seeing a beautiful strong man like this.

This story is so fun and romantic, with a few really sweet surprises. I love the small cameos.. I think that added a fun element to this read, and I still love the chemistry and pull Sam and Huge have for one another. This was a fantastic read! Loved it!!!!

They're baaaaaaaaaaack! Hugh and Sam return in Hilaria Alexander's "A Scottish Wedding". This book is full of passion, steamy sex and real-life. I love Hilaria's ability of sweeping her readers off to Scotland to stand among the heather while still asking them to plant their feet in reality as her characters navigate some very real-world issues. The well-written chemistry from Sam and Hugh is there with a guaranteed HEA. There's a fight from both of them, a strength that endures, and desire that knows no end. The ending is absolutely perfect. Hilaria added more sex scenes, more romance, and more realism to this next installment of the A Lost in Scotland series.

A Scottish Wedding was everything I could have dreamed of for one of my favorite book couples! I fell in love with Sam and Hugh while reading Lost in Scotland, and was absolutely ecstatic when I heard that Hilaria was working on their forever.

In this follow-up, we get to experience Sam and Hugh as a couple--how they work together, and just how perfect they are for one another.

“Now, a soft kiss. Aye, by that kiss, I vow an endless bliss.”

This was one of those dreamy stories I so easily got lost in--it was sweet, swoony, and had some added extra steam. Just like the heather filled Highlands--A Scottish Wedding was simply breathtaking. Enchanting.

I really liked Lost in Scotland so I was very excited to find out that Hilaria was giving us more Sam and Hugh. By the title, we know it’s going to be about everything leading up to a wedding. Just like in their first book, Sam and Hugh's love story was so sweet and sexy and fun. I loved how much they loved each other and how perfect they were together. I also enjoyed the supporting characters as they added to the fun. This was an all-around romantic and heartfelt read. You just can’t get enough of these two-wonderful characters. An awesome novella!

I have to start my review by quoting Sam: "God, I love this man."

I fell for Hugh in book 1 and Hilaira only made him more endearing and irresistible in this book.

Sam is his perfect match. The love and dedication that she has for him, and him for her made it the perfect combination of sweet, sexy and romantic.

It could have easily been my dream wedding. Simply perfection: from the venue to the flowers to the clothes and especially the music. Their whole story could be told through their wedding.

Favorite Quote: “Now, a soft kiss. Aye, by that kiss, I vow an endless bliss.”

Love this continuance of Sam and Hugh's story! Setting a wedding date has become somewhat of an issue for one of my favorite couples and it was exciting to see how everything would or wouldn't come together! I loved jumping back into this world of tv production sets and the wonders of Scotland! Amazing read, great follow up to Lost in Scotland!

This book screamed at me to give it a go. I am so glad I did. I had not read any books by Hilaria Alexander, but I love nothing more than discovering talented authors to add to my ever growing list of favourites.

A Scottish Wedding is all about the trials, mishaps and mayhem that a expected when organising a wedding. It is craftily centred around Hugh and Sam. Hugh is an actor on TV show and Sam is a makeup artist. They become engaged and then the fun really begins. The author takes the reader on a merry dance through every drama and hurdle the betrothed must overcome to reach the altar.

Hugh demonstrates the depth of his love for Sam in every paragraph, and his excitement to make her his wife is infectious. His character oozes sensuality and charisma. His personality shines brightly, making it impossible not to fall hard for him.

Sam is a harder character to read. I think she is a lot craftier and savvier than people give her credit for. Her spunk and sass are her main endearing qualities but that would take me too long to write.

Together these two made for one heck of a good story. Hilaria Alexander captures the heart of a reader by her intricately detailed description of falling in love. The Scottish language and culture is fascinating to read about and had me glued to each page.

A Scottish Wedding had twists in the plot that gifted me with a pleasant surprise, humour, sexiness, passion and lot of love. I think Hilaria Alexander covered all bases and knocked this one out of the park. A well written thrill of a story that will tickle even the fussiest of tastes. 5 stars for A Scottish Wedding.

I enjoyed this book, maybe a smidgen less than the first book Lost in Scotland, but enjoyed it none-the-less. It's nice to read a story that isn't fraught with will they? Won't they? angst. The story took some turns that I hadn't expected which I thought was great.

“Loving, handsome, faithful boyfriends were the stuff of dreams.
At least that’s what I thought, until him.
Before Hugh MacLeod came into my life, I’d been ready to throw in the towel.
I was done giving my heart to lying, cheating sons of a b******.
Hugh restored my faith in love, and had just asked me to share the adventure of a lifetime with him.
God, I love this man.”

A Scottish Wedding is the highly anticipated sequel to Lost in Scotland by Hilaria Alexander. It is deliciously romantic, sublimely sexy and entirely captivating.
We head back to Scotland, reuniting with Sam and Hugh. This story follows on from the first and we pick up where Lost in Scotland left off. Hugh And Sam are engaged and now there’s a whole wedding to plan. Their chemistry and desire for one another is as strong as ever and gives this story plenty of sizzle.
But their path to the alter isn’t going to be quite as simple as they think. They’ll have quite a few bumps that they’ll need to traverse, on their way. There were a few moments where I wanted to shake the pair of them and tell them to get their acts together. But in the whole process, we get to spend time with Hugh and Sam delving deeper into their relationship and story. Ms. Alexander has a real knack for writing emotions, and this story was no different.
The story is charming, sexy, witty and very engaging. All the characters, both main and secondary, were really well written, fully developed and interesting. Sam and Hugh have a chemistry that’s off the charts. They burn up the pages with their sexy antics.
It has a great pace; it flows well and is easy to read- I read it in one sitting.

Thank you, Ms. Alexander
