THS IS A REVIEW OF ‘MARGOT FONTEYN’ (Dancers of Today, no. 1) by Hugh Fisher, published by A & C Black, 1952.
No database listing, so I have to borrow from a similar photographic series. This was a popular series in its day, when ballet photography was as much an art form in itself. Compared to the Gordon Anthony volume, this is rather disappointing and far too brief. Still worth a visit though, if only to admire Fonteyn’s consummate artistry.

As a young ballet dancer, Fonteyn was an early idol. Everyone wanted to be her. To have the style, grace and stamina.
Beautiful photos.
