Wanda Wiltshire has long been a lover of reading and writing.

As a child she was often found spellbound with a novel stashed beneath her desk or tucked between the pages of her geography book. Alternatively she could be found sketching or penning poetry during maths and science lessons.

Wanda has also always been an incurable dreamer, her school reports a testament to her pastime of staring out of classroom windows.

But now she is long grown and finally found her passion for writing novels, Wanda puts her daydreaming to good use, spending many long and satisfying moments gazing across the sea cavorting with fairies and other magical creatures as she develops scenes and storylines for her latest work.

Betrothed is the first in Wanda’s young adult fantasy series.

It is the exciting story of a girl caught between two worlds — Earth and the enchanting land of Faera.

It took me a while to get into this one, because it had been too long since I read the previous books in this series. Once I got into it a bit, I mostly remembered what had happened and was able to read through without too many questions in my mind.

The author has done some great world building in this series, and created some likeable characters. I did feel there were a couple of questions left at the end, so I would be curious to know if there will be more from this series or not.

I enjoyed this one, but it reminded me not to wait too long between series instalments.

The cover is absolutely georgous. It is just as pretty as the other ones. As a whole I deeply enjoyed the book. I had tears at the beginning. What I love about Wanda's writing is the connection that she brings between the reader and the characters of the book. I found myself liking Marla and King Telophy more and more. There characters are very multi-faceted and the growth in both of them is quite evident. However, when Telophy reveals the story of him and Finelle I found myself disliking her for what she did to him. If Leif and
Marla can control themselves it shouldn't be that hard. On another sour note I found myself hating Haigen like usual. She's just not a nice person. I get why she's sad but I can't find it in myself to like her. I loved some of the new fairy elements introduced in this book. I absolutely loved the celebration of new life. All of the fantasy elements came out to play and I really enjoyed the connection between Marla and Leif in that part. It was very fairy like. I enjoyed Baen in the last book but I'm not quite sure about him now, there's something a bit off about him. The plot was great. I was a little disappointed that this book didn't have as much romance as the first book. Hopefully the next book will make up for it. All in all I am really enjoying this series and can't wait to get my hands on the next book.

Wow wow wow just wow what an ending 🙌🏼

I’m really sad that the fifth book isn’t already out and I can’t binge this whole series at once. This book made me feel happy, sad, angry ALL THE FEELS!!

We learnt so much about Telophy and it made me love him so much more. We finally find out how things came to be and ended with him and Finelle and then we find out about his betrothed and let me tell you I was SHOOK!!

We get to see more of Baen and again made me love him more because even though he doesn’t have a soul he kind of does in a way, he is very empathetic after joining with Marla’s soul in the previous book which in turn made him a better person (dark fae).

I want more I need more...I was just starting to finally get my Marla and Leif fix and then the story ended 😩
They have honestly been on roller coaster with their relationship ever since Haigen came into the picture. Leif finally realises why Marla has been so irrational with her emotions towards him and I am so happy with the way things have turned out for them.

PLEASE Wanda don’t make me wait too long for the next book I am very impatient 😅

I simply love this series and so far Telophy is my favourite.
There are lots of new things learned in this book that tie the previous 3 books together and have sated the appetite for more information, for now. However, there is now so much more to look forward to in the next book.
The characters are developing nicely and in particular Marla. She's so very brave, caring and strong. These traits are put to the test in this book. There isn't as much of her friends and family in this book as it concentrates mostly on her and King Telophy but they are still there in the background making their presence felt. We see a whole new side of Telophy and he became very likeable seeing him in a different light.
One thing I like about this series is that it's not predictable and keeps me surprised and guessing all the time.
The writing is superb along with the story-line making this book very hard to put down.
I would suggest reading the previous 3 books in this series as it's a continuing story-line.
Can't wait for the next one. BRILLIANT!

I read the first books in this series a few years ago, so starting this was a bit confusing. I had no idea what was happening other than the basic details I remembered from the previous books. I mainly read it for the Popsugar Reading challenge for the prompt 'a book that makes you nostalgic' as I read the rest of the series a while ago. I have to say it did remind me of the days when homework was a simple thing. I also remember thinking back then how annoyed I was that Lysander and Marla's wing colours were so 'standard'. I would have preferred if they had wings that were orange or green or something. It really bothered me to read about how Marla had pink wings.

It was a fairly good read, although I must say it wasn't as good an experience as it was those years ago. The storyline was fairly predictable, and I didn't get surprised very easily, or at all. The only thing that really happened in this book was Leif being in a coma, coming out of a coma, and other stuff I won't mention to avoid spoiling anything.

This book ended in a way that could end the series, but the Betrothed series is supposed to have a total of six books, so I plan on finishing it just to find out how it ends, although I have an idea already.

I recommend this to anyone who enjoys a light read, faeries/fairies and probably to preteens-early teens.

My absolute favourite from the betrothed series. I am so proud of how Marla has developed - with the break from Leif and also Jack she has become more independent, confident and brave. Also after learning of Telophy's history, I completely understand his hurt and why he is how he is now, and was pretty mad ar Finelle, but all turned out well in the end (except for Telopy of course, majorly heartbroken over that, I was really hoping it would turn around!). I really adored Marla and Telophy's relationship through this book.

I am soooo happy everything worked out with Leif and Marla and that everything was not as it seemed, I really could not bring myself to like Haigen. There is just no positive around her. While I am so happy with how things worked out (minus the Telophy incident :( ) I do have questions left. Who placed the dark magic on Marla? What will now happen with Telophy and Dark Faera with the new Dark King possessing Telophy's powers. What about Marla and Leifs wedding? Where is Tobias??? and more. With all these unanswered questions, I really hope there is a next book!!

I love the authors writing, the connections as a reader that I make with the characters like they are so tangible to me! And ultimately I am sad that it's over. Like I said, I really hope there is another book coming :)

I really do love this series but I feel they left so many unanswered questions. Like who put the black curse on Marla? Will they save Leif father king Telophy? Will Marla find her birth father? Who is Gaege? Is he going to become another immortal shadow king? Will Ashley be Lysander betrothed as he was born in the human world. It really feels unfinished so I’m crossing my fingers hoping a 5th book will come out

It was dramatic and kept you on the edge the whole time never knowing when you or the character would fall over the edge.
