In the small town of Black Bay, a vacant, forgotten house sits atop an overlooking bluff. When Bailey and Bodhi Taylor move in and begin renovations, the house seems perfect. But things move on their own, screams echo from the basement, and Bailey sees a shadowy figure out of the corner of her eye. Is the house haunted? And if it is, what does the ghost want with Bailey?

The Haunting of Winchester Mansion Omnibus By: Alexandria Clarke Narrated by: Tia Rider Sorensen This is a book I received from freeaudiblecodes and the review is my own opinion.
I love ghost stories that have ghosts that are friendly, likeable, and the main character(s) wants to help them. That's what this book was like. It also has lots of twists and turns. Great mysteries to solve and a murder to catch! A suspenseful, exciting, action packed, enjoyable paranormal story that has a happy ending!
It follows a couple that flips houses that buys a large house in a small friendly town. The lady starts noticing odd things happening. Hubby thinks she is going nuts until he see things. Great characters and plot. Just enough suspense to keep things spooky, but not from ghost! Good narration.
Not at all what I was expecting, being so different than any other "ghost" story I've ever read, and yet I really enjoyed it. For me it was a page-turner and held my interest throughout. At times I couldn't help but wonder what was going on here, but it seemed to work.
The characters, including the "ghosts", were extremely likable, and you do end up being very sorry that their lives were taken from them. But this story is more about ghosts needing to move on, not angry ghosts really out to harm everyone and cause destruction at every turn, even though there was a bit of that too. It's sometimes hard to get what you need across to the living, after all.
I really appreciated having the entire story all at once too. Why this was ever published as 3 books I'll never know, because it made a perfect single book IMHO. It was not all that long for a single story, but each one separately would have been way too short and left you hanging after each of the first 2. So I'm glad I read it as a single novel, and I highly recommend it in this form for anyone else that might be interested as well.
I loved this book about a couple whom is going through a rough patch in their marriage but fake happiness in front of others. This couple flips houses for a living traveling all over the world. The Winchester Mansion is haunted and Bailey and Bodhi, are recruited so to speak to solve the mystery of why the ghost will not rest. This story took over my whole life. I spent two days reading this story and was constantly thinking about it and how it would end. It was not a complex mystery yet the writing from this author had me absorbed in Bailey and Bodhi's lives. This story was sad at times but so realistic. Bailey and Bodhi's marriage was so similar to other marriages I've come across in my community. I recommend you read this book it is worth to read it. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Suspenseful ghost story in need of a few more twists
At first, the story was very suspenseful and hard to put down. It takes place in modern times, so it was refreshing that it was not dealing with 200- year-old spirits like so many ghost stories seem to do. However, several of the mysterious pieces of the puzzle became somewhat obvious early on, and many of them could have clearly been resolved easier and faster with today's access to information. It is almost as if the characters refused to ask enough questions in order to prolong the suspense unnecessarily. Finally, the mystery aspect was resolved very early in the book, making the remainder significantly less scary and intriguing. Overall, it was still an entertaining read, but morphed into more of a family drama rather than a classic ghost story.
The story was interesting, the characters likable, but a story of the paranormal should not go so over-the-top in involving supernatural phenomena. I enjoyed the story very much until the suspension of disbelief was terminated by the author going to far. Having ghosts appear frequently and hold conversations as if they were alive ruined the book for me. It should have been drawn out and done much more subtly to hold the reader's attention.

I have really enjoyed this series. Every time I would have to stop reading, I would find myself thinking about the book. I would recommend this to anyone. It's a thriller but relaxing to read. I don't tell what is in the books I read. That is for you to read and find out. Thank you Alexandria Clarke for a well written series. Off to my next adventure.
My daughter and I enjoyed this pretty tame ghost story. I am not sure there were more than a handful of cuss words and there was not anything scary in the book. It was just a ghost story, closer to a YA series than what I would normally take on... But it was something I could tackle with my kid so it was worth it.
Really enjoyed the story. Original story line. Kept me interested. Not a fan of the formatting though, the story does not lend itself to being broken up into separate books.
Read the Kindle version. I liked the switch between blog posts and narrative; it kept the momentum going. I liked the characters and the setting. It was a bit predictable, but I still enjoyed it. This would make a good movie.
Enjoyed the book very much. Decent character development, I liked the ghostly characters, liked the plot. But it was super predictable. It was very obvious who the killer was.
This story caught my interest quickly and kept me completely interested. I read every minute I had the chance to! I will be looking for more books from this author.
this was a fun and at time spooky read. It was definitely not your typical haunted house story. I loved the back story of Bailey and Bodhi. But also loved the character Patrick.
It was long enough to sink your teeth into, not to mention even after the the 'who done it' was solved there was plenty still going on. Would recommend.
Enjoyed every page....felt like I was part of the characters and the story line. The author made this happen with how she wove you into what you were reading.
I loved reading this book since it had a little bit of everything a reader could want - love, mystery, grief, justice over evil, fascinating but believable ghosts, suspense, etc.! I would highly recommend it as a must read!
This review is for the audiobook version. I’ve actually listened to this two or three times and the dates are just the latest session, not realising I’d forgotten to leave a review. That alone tells how enjoyable I have found this story. Only the necessities have disrupted my listening time.
