A reputed national airline, world-renowned scientific and medical institutions, an industrial empire catering to a nation's needs from tea to trucks and from cosmetics to common salt, how did he achieve so much? With hard work, humility and value for tradition but also with an overwhelming desire for progress. Moreover, his spirit of adventure soared higher that the planes he so skilfully piloted.
Tata is a leading brand in the world, especially Asia,in various goods like cars, salt, tea, airlines etc.Similarly Amar Chitra Katha is also a big name in graphic novels and comics in the subcontinent. If there is a collaboration between the two,it is going to be fantastic. This book is a insight into the life of Jamshetji Tata and the birth of Tata Sons. The illustration is good, the storytelling excellent and the text too is simple. For any child, who wants to be an entrepreneur someday,I think this is the book to start with. It's excellent.
This is from the Visionary’s section of Amar Chitra Katha. This genre is Visionaries. The main characters are the respectful Tata's .The narrative style is formal and it is narrated by the author of the book. Amar Chitra Kathas are like comics , they have pictures which depict what the person is saying. So,this story started from Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata . He was the one who started the Tata company. After he died his son and after that his son took on the Tatas. This book tells us about the Quiet Conqueror, JRD Tata. He was the main person of the Tata's who established everything what his dad and his dad had done for the world and mainly for India . I would recommend it to all ages who love reading autobiography’s .
I am in love with Amar Chitra Katha books. Very short but full of information and getting a peek into important life events of people. After reading Jamestji book, I read JRD Tata book and I am in love with Tatas motto and their way of doing business: adding humanness and empathy into the business.
One common theme I saw from Jamsetji, to Dorabji, Ratan, and JRD life's is that they have been under the guidance with a very professional person under whom they have learnt their work. All of them have a vision towards what they want to do and how to carry the vision of Jamsetji and improve if not decrease the standard set.
This one was not as illuminating as Jamsethji Tata's book from ACK but yes, as an introduction to a novice like me, to the great and illustrious J.R.D's life and achievements it was a good book.
Tata is a brand name synonymous with the story of modern India. The ideas and colossal executions implemented by this man are stuff of legendary stories that will be narrated for decades.
Even though JRD Tata led a truly inspirational life, the book fails to capture it. It feels very disjointed and more like a collection of facts than a short biography.
