A series of short books about a medium who can see ghosts. She is also an author of crime books and has recently published a book based on the mob.When her best friend is murdered at her house she comes under suspicion but with the dead friend’s assistance she is able to prove the mob was behind the murder and even identify the killer. Unfortunately her home town is a risky place to be now so she takes up her uncle’s invitation to house sit his place in Moonlight Bay whilst he travels the world. Her dead friend never passed over so he goes her. While there she meets a cop and together they solve several murders over the next 5 books. In the last book the person who ordered the hit on her in her hometown kills a cop and when she solves that death she realises he is the one responsible for her friend’s death and he is finally able to pass to the other side. Each story is interesting but slightly formulaic. Over all a good read.

K.J Emrick is one of my all time favourite cozy mystery authors, her Darcy Sweet novels are a big favourite series in our house and now these short sweet Moonlight Bay Psychic Mysteries are also becoming a favourite as well.
Miranda is fantastic as a crime author and psychic, her best friend Kyle is murdered in the first book and becomes a ghost who couldn't pass over so he helps her solve mysteries, then we add in the handsome and charismatic Detective Jack Travis and these guys make a great team solving local murder mysteries.

Reading this well written set is well worth the timr

Following Miranda, Kyle and Jack on their journey to love and mystery was like being there with them. A cop, a ghost and a psychic working together to solve murders. Can't wait to get the next book and see what will happen as Jack and Miranda continue continue on their journey to love

Okay I must be missing something cos I saw 4.5 stars rating for this... I read the frost chapter of a friend in death and I was like seriously. I mean first off who doesn't know what thier best friend looks like second does miranda have bi polar or something I mean she goes from seriously shaken one min and the next she's smiling to herself when setting a table.

Short but sweet mysteries!

Miranda is a physic/medium that gets involved in mysteries. In the first book, her best friend is killed and although they find his killer, his ghost is still attached to Miranda. He helps Miranda with each new mystery but will be ever be able to journey to the next life?

Casper the friendly ghost?

I guess Miranda and Jack had a ghost of a chance to solve the different cases. The writing makes you feel as if you are following the ghosts. Easy reading.

Another great read

I have read and enjoyed K.J. Emrick's other series and I read this box set straight through. Her use of paranormal makes it seem real and believable.
