Make a steady part-time income from trading options month after month!
If you are a beginner to the world of options trading, this is the only book you will need to learn the basics of the game and to start earning a handsome income consistently every month.
The vast majority of retail traders in the stock market keep away from trading options believing that options are too complex and too risky to indulge in. Most of the few that venture out into this terrain with half-baked knowledge usually end up with substantial losses over the long term because they simply do not know the safe strategies that one needs to deploy in this space.
If you are somebody who has shied away from options trading in the past thinking it is beyond comprehension or because you always ended losing money while trading options, then this is the right book for you.
As a beginner’s guide into the world of options trading, here's what this book contains:
* What Stock Options are in simple terms!
* The various types of options and the common terms used in options trading.
* The underlying principles of options trading using easily-understandable scenarios.
* Basic mistakes made by beginners and how to avoid them.
* Six great strategies, with real case studies, to that teach you how to consistently make profits while controlling your risk.
Note: As an added bonus, this book also gives you access to downloadable worksheets you can use to calculate the potential returns and risk exposure for any strategic trade you want to get into or to even just carry out paper-trades!
Options have earned a quite name for itself because of its ability to return 2X-3X money in as little time as few hours or few days. The best and worst about options is that profit or loss is certain because of the time decay factor. One can't hold it for years just like Stocks. The book starts exactly with this concept where the author states how he and his cousin after making a huge amount during the early days of options trading, lost it all in 2008 stock market mayhem. Of all what I have read, this is a classic journey of an options trader - Initially, it gives a huge amount and then in one crash, the traders lose it all. Few return to the market, few never.
If you want to ever start trading in options, I would recommend that one should go through this book thoroughly. I am reading this book for the second time after going through Zerodha varsity once. The author has done a lot of basic research and comes up with good strategies. Most of the strategies listed are available everywhere but the USP here is - He tells which strategy is to be used at what occasion. Let's understand this with an example - Feb 1 Was the budget day. The markets are known to react 3-5% on such occasions. Directions are obviously not known. On such momentous days, the Strangle strategy is utmost useful. Let me share the chart with you.
As per long Strangle, the trader is supposed to buy an OTM CALL option and OTM PUT option. Let's take BankNifty (Lot of 25). It was trading at 31000 in the morning. The choice will be 32000 CE and 30000 PE with the same expiry date.
A premium of 33000 CE on 1st Feb 9:15 AM - Rs. 281 A premium of 29000 PE on 1st Feb 9:15 AM - Rs. 353
When the day ended, the Rs. 281 premium had spiked to Rs. 1100 and Rs. 353 premium had crashed to Rs. 70. The profit earned will be approximately Rs. 23K on investment of Rs. 15,850 in a matter of 5 to 6 hours.
The ingeniousness of the author lies in the fact that he has explained each strategy with live example and statistics. A highly recommended book for all the option traders. Some gems listed here:
1) Option buyers mostly lose, option sellers gain in small amounts but consistently 2) Naked Options are very risky. 3) Background Information and Human Psychology will play a very important role in Option Trading
For every novice who is starved of a good grip on the basics of Options trading, this book will come like veritable manna. The author has hit the bull's eye with identifying the need for a simple yet comprehensive treatise on this subject. With crisp unambiguous language, and a disarming method of using easy-to-understand examples (like the daily trades of dairy farmers!), the book ensures that a beginner couldn't ask for a more elementary approach to a fairly complex topic. The book is perhaps unique in that it calls out to a fairly wide array of readers, whether the stock market dabbler who wishes to apply a little more science in trading or the absolute novice for whom derivatives was Greek and Latin to begin with. Even an experienced (or perhaps incredibly lucky) hand at F&O might benefit from the systematic approach to understanding the fundamentals of Options trading. This is a must-read!
This book is a treasure trove of information. The theory is presented with clarity and concisely. The examples illustrate the point very clearly and do not drag on. And moreover , it is an absolute steal for the price. I find this book very valuable as it does not claim a large amount of time or money and moreover prior knowledge or extra reading is not assumed or required to grasp the message of this book.
Really Very Nice Book. Strongly recommended who are new to the options trading . Though I have started options trading before 6 months, I have learned some basic informations and most importantly strategies to earn profit with minimum risk from this book .
Strategies are explained nicely but examples of trade are not good. One begins to think why not naked long options with better reward to risk ratios than complex strategies depicted with inverted reward to risk ratios. Needs more to be written to explain the needs for these strategies.
The author gives a basic breakdown of options trading and Morty Solon examples in the different strategies used to maximize profit and reduce risk and loss. Overall it’s a good book.
I think it's only the basics of options, nothing new in this it was similar to zerodha varsity series, found nothing new in this book all strategies are similar read on zerodha varsity.
Nicely written , easy to understand, goes smooth, about very basics of option trading, Greeks not covered much. Recommended for some one who is having no or very little knowledge about Option trading.

Very well written. Options, margins, calls and puts are confusing and frightening for a novice trader, but the author does a good job of writing these down in simple terms which is very easy to understand. Thank you.
