Your family doesn't just need a man who behaves well. They need a man whose heart has been radically changed by Jesus. As men, we are constantly being told to manage our behavior. Take your wife on a date. Stop looking at porn. Spend less time at work. Behavior management is exhausting. We need something more. Something deeper. You don't just need changed behavior. You need a changed heart. And only Jesus can do that. In this 4-week devotional, you'll be encouraged to join a couple of friends to talk about the realities of marriage, fatherhood, work, and how the Gospel affects it all.
A great devotional from someone who understands what parenting is all about. Jerrad explains the Gospel's message for us on how to be godly men, husbands, and fathers. He does a great job at putting the Gospel and parenting together, while giving sound Bible teaching at the same time.
My favorite chapter is "I'm Sorry." It teaches us to be humble and to admit our faults. As fathers, it's hard to admit that we're wrong and ask for forgiveness, but it's exactly what we need to do! It models our kids to know that we're not perfect, and that they shouldn't be afraid to say "I'm sorry".
This was an easy read. Chapters are kept short, so you don't drag through it, but still have time to "chew" on it.
Great resource for digging into tough questions about how the Gospel impacts our marriage, our kids, and our work. Jerrad Lopes knows how to cut to straight to the truth and I'm thankful for all of the other resources he as created at DadTired.com
