Tales of Horror: Macabre Monsters of Michigan

Rate this book
Do monsters exist? Some say they don't, but these macabre tales offer a different perspective.

In Encounter a Michigan farmer gives his account of a harrowing encounter with a sinister beast that is as smart as a man and walks upright. In The Serpent a team of researchers look for a creature said to dwell within the depths of Lake Superior. What should be a routine cryptid hunt quickly becomes a fight for survival and sanity as the team tangle with the powers of an ancient evil. In Becoming The Dragon, a meek man learns he is destined for a dark ascension. He's left skeptical until he is confronted by four home invaders with a serious bone to pick. If he wants to live, he must choose the devil within.

Do monsters exist? Although some are quick to dismiss their legends, Tales of Horror still abound...

Both of Bryan’s anthology books are fantastic!

His story writing knows no boundaries as he can write across genres as well.

The Tales of Horror book involves stories about serpents and dragons and others as well.

He also piques your interest with some stories under Coming Attractions. I can’t wait to read those when they are finished!

This is a quick read, but well worth your time.

I would definitely recommend this book

A fun collection of stories and ideas exploring some of the darker sides of things. Stories of Eldritch-like horrors, mystical encounters, and more.

I will say, in full honesty and with no ill will. In many ways the stories within feel like solid early drafts of stories, ideas that if pursued further and fleshed out, have the potential to be terrific tales.

I had fun with this collection, but was left feeling like I just saw the potential that could be and not like I had soaked in a finished collection. Overall, it was ok, just maybe not a collection that resonated with me personally.
