Dominic não teve uma vida nada fácil, ele é o mais velho de quatro irmãos o que foi uma responsabilidade muito grande que ele teve que carregar quando ainda era muito novo, após a morte da sua mãe. Após a morte dos dois irmãos mais novos, Dominic e os seus dois outros irmãos são adotados por um casal, que depois de falecerem deixam a sua riqueza aos três irmãos.
Os seus irmãos ficam na frente da gerência das industrias de construção civil, mas Dominic é um trabalhador e tem uma centro comunitário que oferece refeições aos menos favorecidos.
Certa noite ele vê um rapaz a mexer no lixo ele fica intrigado e ao sair para o chamar para vir comer ao centro, Dom nunca imaginava encontrar uma menina desnutrida e cheia de febre que com seu jeito atrevido e inocente acaba por destruir as barreiras que ele construiu tão firmemente em seus coração.
Luna é uma jovem adulta, que perdeu o seu pai e a sua mãe, ela encontra-se nas ruas pois está a fugir do seu padrasto, um homem poderoso e que a quer eliminar.
Mais um romance que li num ápice, adorei as personagens todas, mas especialmente Luna e as sua novas amigas, assim como Dom...não gostei do Damien. Vamos lá ver no livro II da trilogia protetores se o Damien me consegue cativar.

Que romanção de banca, hein? Dominic pode até ser um homem admirável, mas ficar chamando a menina de “meu bebê” foi demais da conta. Luna pode até ser determinada, mas muitas vezes só me pareceu uma bestalhona inconsequente mesmo. 21 anos e virgem? *olhos revirando* sei que existe, mas essas autoras adoram usar isso como um “trunfo” da mulher e um “bilhete premiado” para o macho-alfa. Fora o linguajar nas cenas hot... zzzzzz

Gostei do Dom indivíduo, mas ele no arco do casal é difícil de engolir, com a forma que ele a chama de "meu bebê" e a trata de tal forma também. O prospecto de um homem de 30 anos se apaixonar por uma menina que de início ele pensava ser menor de idade, me incomoda também. No final das contas não vale a leitura.

Depois de ver tanta gente falando do livro DOM, decidi dar uma chance e não me arrependi! Conhecer esse homem forte, protetor, cuidadoso e carinhoso foi um enorme presente. Além dele conseguir mostrar que ainda há um lado bom nas pessoas.
Dom é o dono de um centro de acolhimento. Oferece comida para as pessoas que mais precisam em um bairro carente, além de ajuda na saúde, assistência social e no que a pessoa precisar e ele puder ajudar. Sinceramente, o Dom é um homem incrível, com um coração enorme.
Luna é uma mulher machucada, literalmente. Tanto fisicamente como emocionalmente. Fugindo do seu passado para se recuperar fisicamente, ela encontra-se na rua, a procura de comida em lixos, porém em uma de suas procuras, o seu estado de saúde estando precário, acaba encontrando o Dom e indo parar na casa dele.
"... um dia cheguei a acreditar que eu estava destinado a estar sozinho, apenas servir meu destino, e honestamente, eu estava bem com isso. Mas então, a menina chegou revirando tudo, a começar pelo lixo, e transformando a minha vida."
Ela está com medo de tudo e todos. Sabe que ainda podem encontra-la e sente uma imensa necessidade de fugir. Ele sabe que essa mulher tem algum segredo grande e doloroso em sua vida, porém a atração e o sentimento de querer cuidar e proteger ela é inegável. Ambos têm um coração imenso e lindo, e ambos irão se ajudar, mesmo que para um seja de forma mais evidente que para outro. Quando as coisas parecem estar indo bem, o passado de Luna retorna e a necessidade de proteger aquele que ela está criando sentimentos e a si mesma é grande. Acrescentando a todos os sentimentos dentro dela, o desejo de vingança a aquele que lhe fez um enorme mal.
O livro é simplesmente lindo. Mostra o lado bom das pessoas, não deixando de mostrar também o lado ruim e ambicioso. Te ensina tantas coisas boas, te faz sorrir, se emocionar e até ter um enorme aperto no peito diante da história de ambos. Não posso esquecer também das amizades que foram feitas. Não somente o Dom sendo uma pessoa protetora, mas temos também a Luna e isso fica evidente ao conhecer a Jasmine e fazer de tudo para protege-la e ajuda-la.
A capa do livro está simplesmente linda, além da diagramação bem-feita, porém precisa de uma revisão final, erros pequenos são presentes, mas nada que afete a leitura.
Até agora não encontrei motivos para não amar este livro, o final do livro é maravilhoso e a autora soube amarrar bem para atiçar a curiosidade em conhecer o Damien, irmão do Dom e ver a história dele.

Dominic cuida de um centro de caridade distribuindo refeições toda a noite, pois ele e seus irmãos sabem o que é morar nas ruas e sentir fome, até que em uma das noites encontra um menino mexendo nas lixeiras e ao tentar entrar em contato com ele, ele acaba desmaiando e percebe o quanto esta doente. Naquela mesma noite Dom descobre que ele na verdade é ela, e que nunca viu uma beleza igual a dela, mas ai mesmo percebia o quão complicada estava sua vida, havia dor em seus olhos e Dom estava mais atraído por ela a cada dia. Luna tinha umas pendenças para resolver, princialmente vingar seu padrasto pela morte da sua mãe e tentativa de assassinato, porém ela não sabia o quanto ia ser difícil e o quanto de enrascada iria se meter, mas quem estava ali sempre para protege-la e ama-la era Dom, o seu anjo da guarda.

New to me author and I will be reading more of her.
Ok I went into this knowing it is a trilogy and might not end when and were I want it like any book ever goes exactly as you want it to but damn the push and pull of these two because of their pasts his as in Dominic has been awhile hers as in Luna not very much in her past at all, she has the evil Stepfather thing going for her and he wants her dead.
The attraction is there and the want is there but so many twists and turns it makes you want to scream and throw your kindle which I do not suggest .

Gostei muito do enredo, da forma que a autora conduziu a história, mesmo achando que ela deu uma enrolada básica em alguns momentos, mas nada que atrapalhe ou deixe entediada.
Demorei muito pra gostar do casal juntos, demorou me convencer.
Luna foi muito infantil muitas vezes.
Dom um bom personagem.
Ainda bem que já tenho o segundo livro, porque a autora soube atiçar a curiosidade do leitor quanto ao próximo casal, pelo menos a minha.
Doída também pra saber mais da Sophia e do Nico.

Gostei imenso da história e dos personagens, um livro bastante viciante, interessante e cativante com um romance intenso e um pouco de ação pelo meio. Recomendo imenso e estou ansiosa pelo próximo livro!

HOLY HELL! Anne Marck is a new to me author, and I gotta say, I couldn't get enough of Dominic! He had a very crappy childhood, which ended he & his siblings on the streets for a good length of time, and things happened that scarred him, so now all he wants to do is help other people off the streets. Luna's past is even worse than Dominic's was, and she barely left it, so her scars are physical & mental, as she's on the run from her evil stepfather who wants her dead. Dominic comes across Luna, when he catches her looking for food in the dumpster, and he can't understand why she won't come inside the community center to eat. She's super sick, and they end up taking her to his apartment to get her healed, but she's pretty far gone even before Dom & his friends Simone, a nurse, learn about what's truly making her so sick. And the more he tries to protect her, the more wary Luna becomes, and barely a couple of days since he brought her home, she was on the run again. This time around when he finds the girl who is burying herself in his heart, she's almost dead this time, so it's much easier to get her back to his place. Once he gets some of the story out of her, he talks her into staying at his place for the time being, however, Luna is still terrified, yet, determined to make her stepfather pay, and she won't ask anyone's help since she doesn't want anything to happen to them. So they continue living together in close quarters, and Dom is completely messed up about wanting her so badly, even after he finds out that she's of legal age. They have serious chemistry, but there's all kinds of bumps in the road, mainly the danger to her. And it's the danger to her that provide all kinds of f-bomb worthy twists, not to mention, kept my heart racing. Then there's the fact that while Luna is begging Dom to be her first, he's still kind of taking it slow, so you know, there's a push & pull situation, as she believes he doesn't want any of her. Please remember despite all the angst & frustration, there's still the very real danger to her person, so seriously, how does it end up?! Can Dom protect Luna, in spite of her being her own worst enemy at times? And, will he ever surrender to the chemistry that managed to have them catch feelings? You'll have to one click to find out, and as for me?! I'm already dying for more, as I believe the next few stories should be just as intense, but in different ways. HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

Lá vou eu pra mais um livro de romance, mas desta vez fui direto para uma trilogia, tamanha minha vontade de andar lendo uns bons romances. Eu escolhi este por ser parte do sistema da Amazon PRIME, que eu já assino, o que tornou a leitura mais tranquila por poder ler no meu kindle. A história é um bom clichê, homem fechado para relacionamentos mas que não pode evitar cuidar da garota que encontra, garota mais nova que se mete em problemas e apesar de tentar ser independente precisa da ajuda do homem. Talvez este livro tenha alguns atrativos meio óbvios para mim, como a diferença de idade, a possessividade entre os personagens, e a coragem de não jogar numa área fácil do romance, se permitindo descrever uma parte não tão bonita na vida, onde ocorrem traumas e coisas difíceis.
Mas o romance também peca em alguns aspectos. Dominic é um personagem um tanto quanto raso de vez em quando, por ser sempre descrito como um homem extremamente correto e sem defeitos. É até uma piada interna do próprio livro o quanto todas as mulheres que o conhecem tem uma queda por ele, já que ele é perfeito. Isso me incomodou um pouco lendo. Eu sempre digo que eu não tenho lá muita moral para reclamar das coisas, porque tendo a gostar de ler relacionamentos disfuncionais, problemáticos, e com personagens masculinos possessivos e cheios de erros. Então a perfeição de Dominic me irritou um pouco, o que foi remediado no resto da trilogia já que os outros dois personagens são mais equilibrados.
Fora isso, é uma boa leitura. Tenho um pouco de problema com o apelido de Dominic para Luna, seu par romantico. Ele vive repetindo em quase todas as falas "bebê", acho que para enfatizar a diferença de idade entre eles, mas isso se torna um pouco chato com o tempo. Mas não posso negar, levei dois dias lendo o livro, o que indica que ele tem algumas qualidades inegáveis, e por fim, é um bom romance de estréia para a trilogia - apesar de, bem de longe, ser o pior dos três.

Mixed reviews for this book but definitely love the suspense aspect! Luna is currently on the run from her stepfather who is trying to kill her for her inheritance after he successfully murders her mother. While running, she encounters a shelter and meets Dominic after succumbing to illness from life on the run. Unknowing to why he is immediately defensive and protective over Luna, Dominic complies with whatever Luna is comfortable with after she is cagey and jumpy and unwilling to accept his help to get her off the streets. As the pair spend time together, it is clear that they have an attraction and connection that is different for them both. When Dominic finds out exactly who Luna is, he is torn between protecting her and helping her. And when Luna makes matters worse for herself by getting on Dominic’s enemy’s radar, it doesn’t help the situation between them. When both worlds collide for Dominic and Luna, it becomes unsure how she will get the proof she needs while staying alive and not getting Dominic further involved. While the suspense of this story was really great, the romance side of things wasn’t at the same level and it made it somewhat difficult to continue reading. Overall, with this being the first book in this series, I would definitely read further especially after getting a bit of the story between Damien and Jasmine.

I’m just kind of in the middle here in regards to this book. The writing is great, I just couldn’t really connect with the characters. As soon as I’d find myself being pulled into the story they’d do something that just pulled me back out. From overreaction to under reaction and some side character moments that just made me ragey. As much as I really wanted to love Dominic and Luna’s story it just wasn’t my cup of tea.
Don’t get me wrong, I can clearly see this book is good and I know it’s going to be the perfect fit for plenty of other people it just ended up not being that for me. Mostly it had to do with the lack of communication between Dominic and Luna. Their lack of communication at times created what felt more like unnecessary drama than more depth to their story.
Overall though this book is definitely bringing the sweetness and suspense and is worth giving a shot.

This book was touching. I loved watching the good people in the world help others. It reminds me that there are some good people left in this world. Dominic is a down to earth person. He has money, but he chooses to help others and give people what he can. He feeds some of the homeless. This is where he meets Luna, who is currently hurt and eating leftover food out of the dumpsters. Dominic knows from experience what it is like to be on the streets. He does what he can to help Luna, and, in the process, he accidentally falls in love with her. The age-gap really bothers him and makes it hard for him to get over it. Luna was caught in bad situation and lost her mother because of it. She does everything she can to survive. This book is absolute favorite, and I can't wait for the next book! I am so EXCITED!

Loved this book!! It is an absolute page-turner with wonderful characters and an amazing storyline that kept me on the edge of my seat. Luna is is on the run and living on the streets to try and save her own life when Dominic(Dom) find her and bring her into his home to try and help her. Neither one of them expected the changes that night would have on their lives, or their hearts. Dom will stop at nothing to help Luna or to prevent losing her to those that are looking for her and Luna will not stop until she gets her revenge. Their story is full of ups and downs, twist and turns, revenge, and true love.

This is a new author to me and I would definitely be reading more of her work. The story was a page turner from the beginning. The well developed characters and fantastic storyline kept me engaged from page one! Luna has had a hard life, she’s on the streets and on the run trying to save her own my when Dominic finds her. He brings her in to his home to try to help her but she is leery. That first night changed both of their lives forever. Dom just wants to protect Luna from all the hardships she has to face in life. Will he be able to protect her? This book is full of twists and turns, ups and downs, revenge and love. I can’t wait for the next installment of the series!!

September 25, 2019This is the 1st book in a trilogy, and to be honest I am kind of on the fence about this story, not that it is badly written in any way, I just found myself struggling to engage with the characters and the lack of communication between them. Dominic has had a rough life, and works hard to ensure that others can find a shelter rather than living on the street. Luna is on the run and is caught riffling through the bins at the shelter, and Dominic is determined to protect her and keep her safe.
