1. There ABSOLUTELY no emotional chemistry except for pages and pages of connectionless sex. Sex could be good. But this is sex without any cue whatsoever and it's like a little too much salt.
2. Tying back to number 1, since there was no emotional chemistry, I don't see the love happening, any attachment and notion of HEA is superficial.
3. It just strongly suggests he wants to move on quickly with her so he could rub his happiness on his ex gf's face.

I tried, the first few chapters were just meh and really predictable. Liam is a true asshole, and I just couldn't continue reading it.

This series is hit or miss for me. Don't get me wrong the miss isn't a complete write off of the book but it's just a lot cheesier and not as enjoyable for me. The eye roll quotient was a lot higher for this book than the 2nd book of the series. And I confess that the narrator (I listen on audio) may sway me somewhat. He sounds like a dirty, lecherous old man in some scenes rather than sexy. Literally when the book started and he started talking I thought he was one of those schmoozy, car salesman types that hit on the female customers while patronizing her. Instead it ended up being the young, hot, alpha main character.
Liam gets a rude interruption one night while working in his shop. As the only mechanic in the town he gets very little time to just work on his own project, so when he was rudely interrupted by a pounding and demand for help after hours he was less than friendly when responding. That the person on the other side of the door just about made his jaw drop didn't curb his grumpiness much. It goes like this - He tells her to leave. She says she needs help. He refuses and tells her to leave. She demands he help her because she is out of options. He insults her and tells her to leave. She insults him and says no he is going to help her. He finally says he'll give her a ride and she balks thinking better of it. He tells her to take it or leave it and she gives in and says she needs a ride. So this is the whole backstory of their meeting. There was nothing even lukewarm kind about it. They continue to insult and snipe at each other in the truck, yet when the truck stops all of a sudden they are all over each other and having the most erotic sex I've read in a long time. This leads to no rooms available at the hotel, to her demanding to stay at his house, to her begging him to go to her sister's wedding with him to him pretending to propose to her. All the while they still haven't decided to be too much nicer to each other.
Y'all if you want a hot read that is sure to make your Kindle steam this is the book for you. The dirty talk alone was hot, hot, hot! If you are looking for a story that makes complete sense as to why the characters are behaving the way they do this is not for you. Depth is not your friend when reading this book. There's a malicious sister that is out to hurt Haley for no apparent reason. If there is a reason it's never said. There is an abusive ex that the family seems to favor and welcome with open arms and mention of our main character having a really bad feeling about him but nothing happens after that. So many openings that are left that way.
Again its just what you are looking for. For pure distraction alone this book will do the trick and then some.

It's instant sparkage! They start as a one night stand turned fake fiancee and, after a little drama, find themselves in love and ready for their HEA.
I revisited this as its audiobook for the re-read and it is just as hot and steamy the second time around and I still adore Liam and Haley's story.
And I still can't stand her sister or ex-fiancee.

Maybe one of the hottest books I have read in a while.
Who Would have thought that driving to a wedding for your sister and getting stranded on the side of the street and having to walk miles would have you run into. HOT AF mechanic. Well that is exactly what happened.
This is such an amazeballs story. Must read. The plot is so intense and leaves you on pins and needles. When your not on the edge I guarantee you are rubbing one off. This is a very hot book that has you just needing the HEA. Good job MM!!!

I thought this gonna be a crappy one after that Android slur in the beginning. Because it totally showed how under-experienced MM was with iPhone batteries (mine can't go 5 hours without juicing up).
But anyway I decided to let that slide coz Liam was so damn F.I.R.E.. And filthy that no amount of obtuseness (regarding iPhone batteries) could dim my fondness towards him and Haley.

Wow! I've loved each of Mickey's books so far and he certainly keeps the heat going. The sparks fly between Haley & Liam from the moment they meet and I'm not talking about the sexy sparks...yet. I love the way they bicker & argue just like any other normal person would but that just leads to the intensity of their attraction, physically & emotionally. The sex is hot and occurs in some locations that leave you in shock but just add to the thrill. There is heart to the story, as you learn Liam & Haley's stories, making them relatable. I can't wait to see what other heart-filled, steamy, sexiness Mickey has in store next but I'm sure it'll require buckets of ice in order to keep cool.

There are a few things that I have come to expect when it comes to novels by Mickey Miller. Interesting characters, great storylines, unbelievable chemistry and steamy hot scenes. And yet again Micky Miller has not disappointed. This novel had all of those things put together in a novel that you do not what to put it down. With this being the second novel in the Blackwell series( you by no means have to read the first novel, but you should) I have decided that I am living in the wrong town, lol. With all these hot alpha males I do not think that I am the only woman who wants to pack up and make the trip to Blackwell.
This time around we meet Liam Blackwell. To me he is the definition of alpha, he takes what he wants when he wants it, he answers to no one and he takes care of what is his. These things lead us to reading some very steamy scenes between him and Haley. Haley to me is the perfect match for Liam. She is feisty, doesn't take shit, and the prefect dirty city girl for Liam. As soon as she finds herself stranded in Blackwell and stuck with the ass mechanic you just know this is going to get interesting. Nothing like a broken car to help to find a "fake" date to your sisters wedding to replace the finance who stomped on my heart.
While the steamy chemistry between Liam and Haley was one thing that you can not deny holds your attention there is much more to this story then just that. Both Liam and Haley have backstories of heartbreak that you will find will come out and add some interesting twist to the story later on. It is interesting as well to see just how this "fake" relationship really begins to bud into something more without either of them even noticing. I also found myself being interested in the story of Haley's parents. They find their ways back together thought the course of their daughters wedding.
I do not want to go to much into anything else because I do not want to give anything else away. I will say that this has topped the others as my favorite Mickey Miller novel (though I find myself saying this after each new release of his). I love how he will bring in mentions of some of his other characters, whether it is them interacting with the current main characters or just a comment in passing. And well it wouldn't be a Mickey novel without some pineapples,lol. Thank you, for another great escape and I can not wait to see what you have in store for us next!

SPOILER ALERT.
HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. I hate myself for reading this book and wasting my time but in my defense I really liked BOSS WITH BENEFIT. When I came to know that was written by a male writer I was impressed.
But this novel proved to me that men have sex 99% of time and seems to think SEX SOLVES ALL THE PROBLEMS. This is what they did most of the time and I was ok with that but there is a limit for everything. When the h see H dancing intimately with her sister and glares at him all it takes to melt her was his one flying kiss. huh.
To top it all H is also a liar. I know he is a jerk and an asshole, it was fine by me but a liar heck no. When did he lie you ask? They were together for five days for the wedding during which he never once mentions to the h that his ex is her sister. The one who destroyed his life. Also, once after sex on terrace she asks him about his ex he tells her he doesn't want to talk about her. He didn't even care to tell her about Jade even after she was behaving like a bitch. Then during the camping trip he tells the h he wanted to tell her everything but never had a chance. Seriously WHAT THE FUCK YOU FUCKING LIAR.
Can someone tell me when he was exposed and everyone was expecting him to tell his side of story all he said is it in the past or it was long time ago and not the entire truth? Why was he acting like he was some kind of saint? JUST WHY DIDN'T HE TELL EVERYONE THE REASON FOR THEIR BREAKUP?
It takes him 6 weeks to decide to go to NEW YORK to win her back. WTF? What took him so long? When you love someone, you miss them like hell, so it shouldn't take him so long and pressure from friend to think about it. This proves he did not love her. There was nothing that showed how /when their love developed. Its: I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU TOO. Just like that. ugghh.
Hate the h too . She left him saying she didn't want to be second best to her sister. She didn't want him to think about his first love when he looks at her and then she simply forgives him. Just like that. He didn't even tell her why he broke up with her sister TILL THE END of the story. She never knew and she forgave him and was saying i love you too. Even though he did nothing to win her over , no grand gesture, no grovelling, nothing to prove his love. NOTHING.
So all I'd say is dont waste your time by reading this rushed and storyless book.

It has everything I love in a story it has romance, lust and hotter than hot sex scenes that it makes you want to have your very own mechanic with benefits see what I did there ;). It also has a HEA ending that will make you wanna reread it all over again cause I know I want to again in the distant future. I know readers are thinking to themselves and saying should I read this? Well I say DO IT! you won't regret it. Let me start by saying WOW!!! Mechanic with Benefits is by far my favorite Mickey Miller book to date. It starts with a bang, pun intendant seriously!
What's a girl to do when her car is broken down in the middle of nowhere, walks 5 miles in high heels only to get shutdown by a dirty mouth mechanic? She brings him to her sister's wedding as her fake date.
This book is steamy! Dirty! Right down sexy as hell! The banter between these characters brings to life to realness of the story. Mickey Miller brings a whole new level of romance. I could see this story coming to life. Love, Love, Love this book.

You have a woman, Haley, driving to get to her sister's wedding. She runs into car trouble near Blackwell. She walks to Blackwell only to run into Liam. Liam is a HOT AF mechanic who gives Haley a hard time in the beginning, but the heat that comes from Haley and Liam makes you weak in the knees and definitely one handily read it!!! There are times that steam does come from your device!!! The way the plot thickens, it just leaves you addicted to the storyline.
Definitely suggest reading this story, of course, I suggest starting in the beginning of the series.

I never wanted my car to break down and have to deal with a mechanic more then I did while reading this story. Liam is so damn full of himself but oh so sexy at the same time. Haley and Liam together is off the charts hotness. We're given so many emotions and you'll never want to put this book down. This is a must read and you'll absolutely love this small little town

I loved the chemistry between Liam and Haley and especially loved how these two could fight one minute and the next be all over each other!!!!!!

Mickey Miller’s Blackwell After Dark series so far has been hot, steamy and full of fun and sexy scenes with over the top dominant alpha men. And Mechanic with Benefits is no exception. I loved Liam and Haley.
We are back in Blackwell when Haley, who is heading to her sister’s wedding, finds herself stranded when her car breaks down in the middle of nowhere USA. With no other option, she heads back to the small town she just passed to get help. What she does not expect is the rude and arrogant mechanic who refuses to help her.
Liam Blackwell is bitter, stubborn, arrogant and a complete jerk. Years ago, he had his heart broken by the woman he thought he loved and his life took a spiral that nearly destroyed him. Now he stays as far away from relationships as he can, especially from city girls who would never want a small-town man. I loved Liam. He was so tough on the outside, but he could also be very protective, sexy and charming, in his way, when he wanted too.
Haley is trying to get over the horrible breakup she just endured. The last thing she wants is to get into anything serious. But after her one-night stand with the sexy, arrogant and cocky mechanic, she decides he is just what she needs as a fun rebound to get through her sister’s wedding. I liked Haley. She was insecure and a bit lost, but during her time with Liam, she allowed herself to be free and have fun.
At first it seemed like a great idea. Bring Liam as her fake boyfriend to get through the wedding and show everyone she is okay. But what neither of them expected was their strong and intense connection to grow and develop into something neither desired. They thought they could enjoy each other, have fun and then go their separate ways, but can they deny what is happening between them?
This is a steamy read that is sexy and full of humor. But it also had a twist you do not see coming and suddenly this fake relationship is feeling all too real. But can Liam and Haley admit to each other what is happening or will it be too late for them?
I loved the interaction between Haley and Liam. They were at once hot and steamy, but also fun and light. They were good together. Their chemistry was insane and you felt it throughout the story. This is an instant-attraction story, but it was also fun to read. Liam was over the top sexy, cocky and dominant, but you could no help but love him. There was some angst, but overall a fun story to read.
We are back in Blackwell when Haley, who is heading to her sister’s wedding, finds herself stranded when her car breaks down in the middle of nowhere USA. Liam Blackwell is bitter, stubborn, arrogant and a complete jerk. Years ago, he had his heart broken by the woman he thought he loved and his life took a spiral that nearly destroyed him. Now he stays as far away from relationships as he can, especially from city girls who would never want a small-town man. I loved Liam. He was so tough on the outside, but he could also be very protective, sexy and charming, in his way, when he wanted too.
Haley is trying to get over the horrible breakup she just endured. The last thing she wants is to get into anything serious. But after her one-night stand with the sexy, arrogant and cocky mechanic, she decides he is just what she needs as a fun rebound to get through her sister’s wedding. I liked Haley. She was insecure and a bit lost, but during her time with Liam, she allowed herself to be free and have fun.
At first it seemed like a great idea. Bring Liam as her fake boyfriend to get through the wedding and show everyone she is okay. But what neither of them expected was their strong and intense connection to grow and develop into something neither desired. They thought they could enjoy each other, have fun and then go their separate ways, but can they deny what is happening between them?
This is a steamy read that is sexy and full of humor. But it also had a twist you do not see coming and suddenly this fake relationship is feeling all too real. But can Liam and Haley admit to each other what is happening or will it be too late for them?
I loved the interaction between Haley and Liam. They were at once hot and steamy, but also fun and light. They were good together. Their chemistry was insane and you felt it throughout the story. Mechanic with Benefits was a full throttle kind of read. It was like jumping into the deep end on a scorching hot summer day.
LOVE these set of characters!
I read these out of order and it did not negatively affect my reading experience at all.
Mechanic with Benefits had a few nice surprises that I wasn't expecting. I always tip my hat to an author when that happens. More times than not, we can see exactly where something is going... but not Mickey! He knew when to throw some curves in there and I enjoyed that element immensely.
Blackwell After Dark series is addicting, fun and HOT! I definitely say - go one-click these bad boys!

City Slicker Hayley, finds herself with a broken down car outside of Blackwell while road tripping to her sisters wedding. She treks into town and meets up with our dirty mechanic and the spark plugs blow and the lug nuts explode right out of the gate!

I love Liam and Haley! This was my second book by this author and he didn't disappoint me. The story is well written, it's hot, it's entertaining, it's a good love story. I loved the banter between the H and h.

Hot damn! When it comes to steaming hot romance novels Mickey Miller does not disappoint. Blackwell After Dark is as steamy as a series can come.
After her car breaks down in the middle of nowhere Haley is forced to ask Blackwell's only mechanic, and self labelled asshole, Liam for help. After much arguing he finally agrees to help Haley, after banging her country-boy-style in his truck. Desperately needing a date for her sisters wedding she propositions Liam to accompany her. After putting some thought into it Liam agrees and things only become more complicated. Secrets and lies come to light and Haley and Liam are torn between fighting old heartaches and their growing love for each other. When life throws them a curve ball decisions have to be made, including leaving old wounds be and focusing what's in front of them.
I really liked this book. I look at romance novels differently and see the story behind the characters and not just the sex scenes. The story in itself makes this book great. I hope there will be more books to come in this series.
Bonus Novel: The Casanova Experience
Wow! Chandler is one hot specimen of a man that knows what he wants and how to get it. Amy on the other hand is stuck in meaningless and heartless relationships where she is unable to be herself and often demeaned by her partner. After meeting Chandler during a study abroad she quickly realizes how drab her life is. They form a friendship without ever taking it to the next level. Fast forward 5 years....Amy is yet again stuck in a meaningless relationship when fate takes over and she reconnects with Chandler. At first she is hesitant to give in to her desire but eventually let's go and they finally act on their mutual attraction and desire for each other. Mickey Miller's incorporation of this social taboo in this novel brings some understanding to the reader how crippling it can be. Chandler struggles with Amy's mood swings but he never stops fighting for her heart. I instantly fell in love with this novel and its characters. This novel an unexpected bonus that I quickly fell in love with.

I see all these 5 star reviews and I wonder.....did I miss something?
Girl breaks down on side of the road in the middle of nowhere. She walk a couple of miles to a blip of a town she passed up. Only one mechanic in town and he's a good looking self-proclaimed a**hole. She decides to give into her "dirty" side and have fun with Mr. Mechanic and who is he to say no.
Now while this is going on in her mind she is thinking about having to show up to her sister's wedding dateless. Seems she broke it off with her fiancé but neglected to tell any of her family. Her OCD sister and bitch of a mother will have a conniption if she shows up as a single....how will they recover the seating arrangements.
Light bulb goes off...hey I'll tell him I'll do whatever he wants if he will go to the wedding as my date. Yea, you can see the problems that are going to happen and as cliché as they are it all seems to happen. 1. The bride is the mechanics college sweetheart who broke his heart so badly he went into an alcohol spiral so bad he was kicked out of the military. 2. Her ex is there, he and the groom are frat brothers, and yes, you guessed it....he's seen the error of his ways and he wants her back. 3. Feeling are starting to develop between girl and mechanic (I know it's bad not to refer to them by name but honestly, I can't remember their names) but sister is out to sabotage the whole thing because she's basically a self-centered bitch.
Now they are apart he's broken hearted and knows he never loved the sister since those feelings come no where close to what he feels for the dirty girl. She's struggling in NY to get over what happened and find happiness. Could the old abandoned building back in Blackwell (think that's the town's name) be her chance to make her dreams come true? About the time he's getting up the courage to go to NY and "fight for what he truly wants and is not willing to give up" he discovers she's back in town.
A couple of these things in one story maybe, this whole set...nah. I know it's make believe but even in that land there has to be a limit to how much you put into one short book. Guess bottom line was this wasn't enjoyable for me. Hope y'all get more out of it than I did.

On a road trip in her Mini, destination her sister’s wedding, Hailey’s car breaks down in the middle of nowhere. After walking five miles in stiletto heels and yes, it’s started to rain, Haley finally reaches the only auto shop in Blackwell. And the cherry on her already fan-freqkin’-tastic day? It looks like Dick’s Auto is closed. Despite her hearing music blaring and pseudo human sounds, it takes what seems like forever for someone to answer her incessant calling and knocking. Who should come to the door but the world’s cockiest, most arrogant, foul, acerbic and just plain biggest jerk, Liam. Correction. Make Liam that cherry on top! Shame all that hot, sexy, alpha gorgeousness is wasted on him. It’s hard to believe, but after a rocky start replete with all kinds of explosions, Liam agrees to be Hailey’s date for her sister’s wedding.
