Charles Frazier Stanley was born September 25, 1932, in the small town of Dry Fork, Virginia. The only child of Charley and Rebecca Stanley, Charles came into the world during a time when the entire nation felt the grip of the Great Depression. To make matters worse, just nine months later, his father Charley died at the young age of 29.
However, Charles refused to let the Great Depression or the difficulties of his life define him. Instead, like his father and grandfather before him, he clung to God’s Word and took up the mantle to preach the gospel to whoever would listen.
Dr. Stanley’s motivation is best represented by the truth found in Acts 20:24, “Life is worth nothing unless I use it for doing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus—the work of telling others the Good News about God's mighty kindness and love.” This is because, as he says, “It is the Word of God and the work of God that changes people’s lives.”
Dr. Stanley’s teachings can be heard weekly at First Baptist Church Atlanta, daily on “In Touch with Dr. Charles Stanley” radio and television broadcasts on more than 2,800 stations around the world, on the Internet at intouch.org, through the In Touch Messenger, and in the monthly, award-winning In Touch magazine.

Another awesome book by Dr. Charles Stanley
I never get tired of reading Dr. Stanley’s books. I highly recommend this book and all of his books. He is always insightful, uplifting and speaks the truth about God’s Word!
He truly loves God and God’s people, those saved and those yet to be saved. Lord Bless you Dr. Stanley!

On Time Read!
In reading this book, God spoke to me immensely through the wisdom of His Word and testimony of the life of Charles Stanley. Going through a hardship or trial, this book or most importantly God showed me what He was doing in my life. Through the pain and discouragement he was showing me to remain faithful and storm proofing my life on the solid rock to withstand the trials of life.

Charles Stanley is one of the best spiritual leaders; any of his books are insightful and helpful in your walk with Jesus.
If your looking for inspiration to strengthen your life against hardships then this book is filled with the timeless truths that we so often need to be reminded of!
For me; this was just the book I needed to help me through a tough season of doubts and worry.
I will definitely re-read this often.

Great book to help Standing Strong
This is another great book from my beloved teacher Pastor Stanley.
They always help me in building up a greater and more intimate relationship with my heavenly Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

What a powerful book! A friend gave this book to me. I took a while to read this book because there's so many truths in the book that I wanted the information to soak into my spirit.

Charles Stanley’s books are thought provoking and can be life changing. And Standing Strong is no exception. He communicates clearly and offers examples along with scripture to support his arguments. Standing Strong encourages the reader to examine what they believe and how they are building their lives. I took my time reading thru this book as it was so inspirational. He brought out ideas/points I had never considered. I would recommend this book for anyone who really wants to strengthen their faith.
Charles Stanley starts this book with a look at how we view scripture. And he provides some great reasons why this is so important. Then he continues on with examining our understanding of God and our need for a Savior. Having a strong life starts with a strong foundation. Charles Stanley offers references from both the old and new Testament. One idea builds on another. And all of this leads to a strong life.
I really enjoy all of Charles Stanley’s books. I rarely read a book more than once. But Charles Stanley’s books are an exception. I received a ebook copy from Net Galley in exchange for my honest review. However, this is one book where I will be purchasing a paper copy to write notes and highlight for future reference.
