Why this book?
I really liked the other books in the series

What I thought

First Bernie robs a bank and she doesn't know how that happened and she's all like ...


Then she finds out she's a witch and she's like ...


Bernie is a witch who really doesn't believe she is a witch is sent to Paris Texas to serve out her parole working for Ridge Donovan on his farm. Being surrounded by all these crazy supernaturals. She's starts to rethink things. This was entertaining with a bit of romance. Just like the other books in the series it also had a touch of humor and great moments of friendship. A great addition of to series.

I read this book to complete a challenge in the group Beyond the Bookends on Facebook. This is not a preferred genre, and this book did not impress me nor change my feelings about the genre. At least it was short.

Absolutely the best in the series.
I enjoyed the previous books in the series enough to continue reading them. They were cute, light fluff. Something easy to read for a few minutes at a time during the work week and entertaining enough I rarely wanted to skim them just to know how they ended. I rated them all at about a 3 (give or take).
I'm not certain exactly why but this one was significantly better. The story was more gripping, I found the plot line more unique, and I liked the main characters better. The sprinkling of suspense was better done and felt more spaced out instead of a sudden addition to the ending. It is worth reading the others if you enjoy an easy, light read and knowing the back stories of the secondary characters is helpful.

Fantastic! Another parolee comes to Paris. Can the town rally round and help her solve the mystery of her parents death and come to terms with being a witch. Absolutely terrific series. Magic, mayhem and romance in spades. A must read.

This is the third book in the, "Paris, Texas Romance Series". by Dakota Cassidy. I found this book was well written and well paced, entertaining, and hard to put down. I enjoyed the creative storyline. These seem to be getting better with each installment! Very well worth the time to read.

So unbelievably cheesy and poorly written. A drag queen cat familiar, really? It felt so ... gimmicky. I kept reading because I like stories about witches, but I would not read another one in this series. Also the switch from most of the book which is pretty lighthearted to the last part of the book where the baddie is back in town and turns out to be some murderous psycho felt extremely jarring. It was like switching genres and did not fit for me. I wanted to like this book, I really did, but besides passing the time well my boyfriend was watching football it did not do much for me.

I loved the unique take on this installment of the series. Unlike the other main characters, Bernice wasn’t at all happy about being a witch. For her, it had caused far more problems than it was worth. That was why she just wanted to do her time, get through her parole, and finally get back to her life. And figuring out where it all went wrong.

My favorite supporting character was Miss Fee, a drag queen… cat. She was hilarious and utterly loyal to Bernice, who needed a friend in any form she could get it. Without her, Bernice would have certainly floundered, in over her head in a world unlike anything she’s ever known.

This book, and the series, is really a beautiful (and hilarious) story of redemption, friendship, and the different kinds of love. Such a fun read!

Great Story, Great Characters **I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review**
Bernice Sutton was in witch prison. The problem is, she didn't know she was a witch and nobody will believe her. Miss Fee, a cross-dressing talking cat, decided he was her familiar and wouldn't take no for an answer. When she's paroled to Paris, Texas, she just wants to do her time, move on, and forget the word witch. Only, Ridge Donovan, the warlock she's forced to work for, is making it pretty tempting to figure everything out and possibly stay.
The first thing I have to say is: I WANT A MISS FEE!!!! He was like me, but in cat form!!! He had me in stitches. Anyways, I loved following Bernice on this journey as she had to figure out who she really is and possibly find a real home and family while she is at it. The author has a way of drawing you in not only with the main characters, but also with all of the characters in the town as well as people whose stories I've had the pleasure of reading about. Just overall great story, great plot. I can't wait to read more from this author. I highly recommend.

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review .Witch Is The New Black is one of the best reads of 2015. I loved every single thing about this book the characters ,the story line,the dialogue all of it was great.Although this is a stand alone book I recommend reading all the books in this series in order so that you get the most enjoyment possible from them.In this third book we travel back to Paris Texas, a town filled with paranormals . Bernice is a witch who doesn't believe she is a witch is sent to serve out her parole working for Ridge Donovan a sexy warlock on his farm. Miss Fee Line Bernice's familiar is a drag queen kitty cat and a riot , the dialogue between these two was laugh out loud funny.We also get to re-visit with characters we've met before including Winnie,Calla,Nash and those crazy seniors from the center.I read this book in one sitting .There's always craziness in Paris Texas and I loved every minute of it .If you are looking for that next great read look no further this is it .

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I love this series and this story definitely did not disappoint! Bernie Sutton has just served time in a jail for magic abusers for comitting a crime she doesn't even remember committing. She's been sentenced to carry out her parole doing manual labor in the town of Paris, Texas and ends up meeting an interesting bunch of characters while carrying out her punishment and trying to figure out just what the heck happened in the first place. Dakota Cassidy never fails to keep the laughs coming and that definitely holds true for this most recent addition of the Paris, Texas series. The characters are out of this world, the situations are slap happy strange, and I simply cannot get enough! I highly recommend this book to anyone who has a sense of humor and likes to laugh! If you don't enjoy laughing, than this book is probably not for you.

Okay, I know I need to suspend disbelief, but what the frilly heck is up with the Kotex shoes? Why would they not give the female prisoners shoes?? It's not like they made them sew their own jumpsuits. And I was super annoyed with the case the heroine found herself in until the very end when it was explained why she was convicted in the first place. It still had me rolling my eyes, but I reminded myself that this wasn't deep literature, but a poolside kind of book/series, so I wasn't too bothered. It seems like this is the last book of the series (at least for now), but I would read the next one if Cassidy wrote another. I think I would actually read the book, however, rather than listen to the audiobook. I like the narrator's voice, but her acting/voice characterizations definitely needs work, as they still all sound practically the same.

Witch Is the New Black is another delightful and sometimes tense novel in Dakota Cassidy's fun Paris, Texas Romances series.

n this third fun but touching novel in the series, the witch in question isn't learning a lesson about abusing her powers, she is discovering that she HAS powers which explains why so many freaky things have happened to her since she turned 14. One of the mysteries of the book is the question of why her parents didn't tell her she was a witch and prepare her for living in a human world with the powers of a witch. There is of course an evil one, a hot one, and many many wonderful people in Paris, Texas who are more than ready to help her once they understand what she need.

So far this is my least favorite in the series. I didn't find the lead character very likeable, and when she started to get better there wasn't much of a story left. I spent most of the time wanting to slap her honestly. It seems like none other books in the series have came close to the first book for me. There was a story and mystery to this, and although this is the first book in the series I actually knew who the culprit was I still had no clue why. Dakota Cassidy is good with keeping stuff a secret until they are ready to be revealed. Oh and I loved Fee, and that we got all the other great characters from this series, but Bernie ruined this one for me.
