Her business woes and marital difficulties were the subject of every network, cable news channel and talk show. An extended break in a secluded area of Montana area had been just the right therapy for her—that is, until four assassins showed up and tried to kill her.

Sam “Cowboy” Steele, a retired Ranger who had been badly injured during a mission in Iraq, had been assigned by the Brotherhood Protectors to watch over Vandy from a distance without her knowledge. He arrived just in time to foil the attempt on her life, but she had been injured and rendered unconscious during the rescue.

With a record-setting snow storm cutting off communication to the outside world, Vandy wakes up in Sam’s cabin, cut off from the outside world. She is in pain, confused and disoriented, nearly as afraid of Sam as she was of the assassins.

Sam Steele must nurse Vandy back to health, earn her trust and prepare for the return of the assassins who would be looking to finish the job they started.

As Sam and Vandy get to know each other, a bond begins to form and they attempt to solve the ultimate riddle. Who was trying to kill her and why? When the assassins finally return, Sam is faced with only one choice—he must sacrifice himself to save Vandy.

Steele Ranger is filled with edge-of-your-seat action and hot romance.

I am new to writing romance, though I have written professionally in the media world for over 15 years. My first published novel, Searching for Honor, went to #1 on the entire Amazon KindleWorlds network and held the position for three weeks.

When I'm not writing I am spending most of my time with family. With two children and two grandchildren my life is hopping.

I just celebrated my 40th wedding anniversary.

Steel Ranger: Brotherhood Protectors World is by Jesse Jacobson. This book is part of the Rainhorse series because it contains “Vandy” Vanderbilt, Lindsay’s Mother and Lindsay.
Elaine “Vandy” Vanderbilt was waiting to go on Entertainment Tonight. It was the first interview she had given since everything started going wrong. Her husband was creating on her, her daughter “hated” her as only a sixteen-year-old can do, her business was under investigation by the FTC, and everyone wanted to hear her side of the story. Of course, by not giving it, they were making it up. Although Vandy didn’t want to do this interview, her chief of staff, Pamela Putman, thought it was the best thing to do. Pam was also her best friend, so Vandy decided to do this one interview. As the interview started, Vandy noticed that Mariana Mayes was making a statement as if what she was saying was the truth. That didn’t seem fair; but maybe that was the way she worked. However, Vandy soon found out that Mariana was just setting the tone for her announcement that her ex-husband was going for full custody of their daughter. Vandy was not aware of this development and this was the last straw that led to her having a breakdown on stage. The next thing she knew was she was in the hospital.
Vandy knew she had to get out of town and rest. She decided to go to West Glacier, Montana to a cabin owned by Pam’s ex. It was secluded and no one would associate it with Vandy. Although Pam wanted to send a security team with her, Vandy refused. The last thing she did before leaving was call her Uncle Randall and let him know where she would be. He was left in charge of her company.
Vandy doesn’t know that her Uncle was a member of the Brotherhood Protection group which was a group of ex-SEALS who looked out after each other and their loved ones. Uncle Randall called in a favor to have someone watch over Vandy. T from a distance just in case. That was how Sergeant Sam Steele came to be watching for Vandy. Steele was discharged from the SEALS due to burn injuries caused by a bomb blast. He thought he scared people due to his burns and scars so stayed isolated as much as possible. He took this job only because he was the only one in the area. He has no idea what he might be protecting her from or whom; but he intended to do his job. What he doesn’t plan on was the attraction between himself and Vandy

Love the men who serve

Wish that your guy was for real with all the they have to put up with our men are not honored and respected since Vietnam the government has failed them over and over again. We have a young man that joined up he lived with us and when he signed up I was so concerned my husband told me to behave and show no heartbreak. He is our adopted grandson in Christ we love him and are so thankful he only has a year and he'll be out . I liked the book because the character in your book is what we tried to instill in him. My heart was broken at thirteen seeing all those boys at Fort Bliss the fear in their eyes is forever with me they felt death was going to be their end. So many had no choice so when they sent my oldest to serve it was horrific. My mom cried all day but God was gracious and answered prayer he had such bad sight he wasn't taken. At 64 years I still grieve over all the young men who died an never got to have family an grow old with grandchildren all playing in the yard. God Bless all who lost the most valuable sons, husband's, grandson's, all men wiped off in the time when they should have loved, experienced having all the things in life that they deserved and just live. You write clean books so I will be checking out more of them. Keep raising up our military men and women. Thank you for making them come to life for those who don't know the lose of the life that affected girls like myself --- we had no way to help.

Nice story of a scarred hero, ex ranger Sam. I really liked him and Vandy a billionaire on the edge of nervous breakdown. I loved the way both heroes interact. and I highly appreciate his abnegation and the way the author described his struggle with injuries and burns.
First I was shoked by her behavior, her stinging and hurtful remarks about Sam, even when she apologized but I finally loved the fact that she was human not some kind of flawless heroine. I also loved the fact that she opted for what was best for her daughter : trying to win her and not to bitterly fight for her when she really wanted to go with her dad. Nice and quick read but not unforgettable.

In some ways a really good book. Issues I had that kept it from 4 stars: honestly the heroine is a serious bitch for much of the book. Not much room to be sympathetic to her plight. Also, the author chooses to skip huge parts of the story and just pick up the narrative in the next chapter days (more than a week) later. This makes it seem choppy, and contributes to the lack of connection. The ending is just weird and loose. It reads more as a HFN than HEA, and too much is up in the air with too little interaction between the H and h. But the overall story arc is good, as well as the parts that are written. To come extent it feels unfinished.

Steele Ranger

A good Protectors book. All the bells and whistles for a good medically retired Special Ops soldier. Former Army Ranger was hired to protect Vandy from afar. However that didn't work, as someone shot the jeep out from under her and caused her to wreck. If Sam Steele hadn't been following her, doing his job, she would have died. Trying to figure out who had the most to gain if she was dead didn't take long. Keeping themselves alive was another problem..............

Steele Ranger doesn't disappoint!

I love the Brotherhood Protectors series. They all include strong alpha men protecting someone they have grown to care about. Set against the beautiful Montana mountains this story keeps you guessing to the end. Sam and Vandy are against the elements, injuries, and contract killers as they come together as a couple to figure out who is behind the attempts on Vandy's life. Great story by a great author.

Interesting

The book was well written and true to brotherhood protector form. It is obvious that it is the first book by this author that is part of the brotherhood. There was not a lot of detailed references but her other books in this series do. She needs to Denver "Hank" is a little more hands on with his men and the brotherhood. Still it was a good read and the rest in the series are great!😁

Another great read. The the Brotherhood Series. Cowboy and his scars and how he has survived thru the worst. He's hired to watch and protect Vandy. She is being targeted but she doesn't know why. She left to be alone and regroup in an undisclosed destination, but she was found. Due to circumstances Sam took her to his cabin. He's all she has right now. Love this series.

Very good story!

This action filled story was well written. The storyline was very enjoyable and engaging. So much so that I was able to stay with the story even though I really did not care for the female character Vandy. Liked the male lead Sam. I mainly used the text to speech option but when reading found small proofreader misses.

This was a fast and fun read. Lots of action that keeps the pages turning. I loved Vandy and I completely enjoyed Steele. I read this as book after reading some of the other books and this was great and filled in their relationship. I really enjoyed that Vandy had a potty mouth and wasn't afraid to speak her name. Steele was a great character on his own. Great chemistry and a great story!

Loved the story. The only problem was the number of grammatical errors. Miss placed words in sentences. It could have been edited better.

Suspense and love

This novella is about two people who appear to be opposites but are a fit in many ways. There is danger and mystery and the beginning of love. Very good.

Overall, this was a good story with action, an element of suspense and the start of a possible romance. With that being said though, there were parts I really liked and others I did not really care for. I was not really fond of Vandy’s character. She seemed superficial, self-centered, had an overall bad attitude towards someone trying to help her along with a really foul mouth. It takes away from the story for me when the woman’s language is worse and used more often than the man’s. She acted very abrasive and kind of psycho from one moment to the next and it was hard to keep up with her changing moods. One moment she was crying and thanking Sam for saving her then the next she was yelling at him, calling him names and accusing him of things. However, she was more tolerable towards the end of the novella after she finally came to terms with the direness of her situation and acceptance of Sam’s help to keep her alive. Sam was a different story, I did like his character but he could have been a bit more alpha. I understand that he was self-conscious and had self-esteem issues from his scars so there was an underlying scared vulnerability about him towards how others saw him and being rejected but I just felt his character needed a bit more of a hard-edge and gruffness from him being a retired Ranger. The storyline was enjoyable and the mystery behind Vandy’s attack and situation was a nice turn. Though these books can stand alone, it was nice to read this one to get the backstory for Vandy and Sam to understand how they met and became involved. This story sets up their relationship for the next novella, Ranger Guardian, and the new challenges they face.
