Rate this book
FOR USE IN SCHOOLS AND LIBRARIES ONLY. Why do sea turtles look like they are crying sometimes? Is it because they just got a boo-boo? No, that is silly! Sea turtles get too much salt in their bodies from the salty ocean water, so they get rid of all the extra salt by excreting it out of special glands near their eyes! Come along on an underwater adventure and have fun learning the special things about sea creatures that help them survive the large ocean filled with so many creatures.

A bizarre board book; I picked it up because the physical book has a unique texture to it and the water color illustrations are beautiful, but the text-heavy narrative and strange images makes the book a difficult sell for my 1-year-old. The art is beautiful - but the moment they begin complimenting the prose they become weak.
