I enjoyed Nago, His Mississippi Queen; it is a pretty fast paced read with characters that I wanted to see overcome their obstacles and end up happy. I liked Nago's and Halle's story as well as Joseph's and Maggie's, but I would have liked to have gotten more of both. Although connected to Halle's family history, so not really out of place within this story, I think that I would have enjoyed it more if Joseph and Maggie had their own full length book so that their story could have been more complete. For me, it felt like their story needed to be told, so it was wedged around Nago's and Halle's story. Maybe I'm just being a greedy reader and wanting more than what is necessary for what was meant for the story to have at all.

I also would have liked more information filled in on Nago's time away, Halle's struggle to keep her kingdom running, as well as more detail about Halle's kingdom and her relationships with the people she lived among for so long as they all struggled under her father's neglectful rule. Again, I could just be asking for more than is needed for a sexy paranormal romance, because it is most definitely a paranormal romance that delivered on being an enjoyable read.

WOW-WEE!!!!! Another fantastic 50 Loving States series introducing the Nightwolf brothers: Nago, Rafesson and Knud!!!!!!

"Nago, His Mississippi Queen: 50 Loving States, Mississippi (The Brothers Nightwolf )Trilogy" was two beautiful and thrilling stories in one yet without the blessed coupling of Native American, Joseph Nashoba and runaway slave, Magnolia's tale there could never have been the charming love story of King of Alaska, engineer/ billionaire, Nago Nightwolf and his Mississippi Queen, Halle.

This story had so many genres that I have always enjoyed reading- a slave narrative; Native American History, Paranormal Romance with fantasy and of course multicultural Romance. 'Nago' was truly an awesome story with mystery and suspense and a fair amount of flashbacks which are sometimes difficult for me to enjoy but crafty Theodora Taylor worked this story so well, I really took great pleasure in keeping up with 1837 and two hundred years later.

So if you are a fan of this series, love TT's wolf shifters who are surrounded by drama... twists and turns on every corner with the imaginative and marvelous writing style of Taylor, then you will love this new edition to this series!

Nago and Halle were two nerds, unpolished wolves, that did not fit typical good looking stereotype at least they didn't think so . I think their feelings for each other is what made them beautiful. Their story of fated mates was more subtle, it did not start with a bang like the other books but, it was a slow true friendship ,that turned into a love that would last a lifetime. I was a little confused about what was going on with Nago, but it all came together in the end. Maggie and Joseph's story was just as interesting and I would really like to hear more from them, as I read the last pages ,I felt all four got their fated mates , and each story of the journey to love was written in a different way . I really like The Paranormal series by Theodora , I think it's so great that she gives us something different with each book, I never know what to expect , but I know I will enjoy reading the journeys .

If you follow my reviews at all, you'll recall that I was less than enamored with the last Theodora Taylor book Her Dragon Everlasting. I'm happy to say that Nago, His Mississippi Queen was a great reminder of why I'm a fan of Ms. Taylor. Although it was a little too short in my honest opinion, the author makes up for it with outstanding writing and a well-woven story. Nago is a part of her 50 Loving States collection of books and represents Mississippi. It is also the first of the "The Brother's Nightwolf" series.

Nago Nightwolf is one of the three sons of Rafe Nightwolf and Chloe Adams. You might remember them from Wolf and Prejudice. The story starts with a young Nago meeting the wolf of his dreams at camp. Nago is the least attractive of the three Nightwolf siblings, in fact, he's been given the nickname "NotHotWolf" by girls at camp. That doesn't matter to Halle who is the princess of Mississippi, which is a mange or poor kingdom. Like Nago, Halle is smitten. At the end of camp the two separate and go back to their kingdoms but their young love doesn't end there and the two stay in close touch. Unfortunately, things aren't destined to stay peachy forever and an unfortunate event leaves them heartbroken and separated. Until that is, Nago is forced into action or risk losing any chance of ever being with Halle.

I loved both Halle and Nago and really wanted them to be together. As the princess of a less-than-glamorous kingdom, Halle was hard working and willing to do whatever it took for her people and for her father. The story was well written, however, the transitions from the past to the present felt a bit clunky to me. There was another story woven into this one involving a runaway slave and a Native American shifter, and while I understand the tie-in to this story, I didn't feel like it was entirely necessary. That doesn't mean it negatively impacted the book or that I didn't find it interesting. In fact, I wanted to read more and would have preferred a book that was fully dedicated to it.

Nago is a well-written story with endearing characters that pulled me in without over-the-top scenarios or an ass for a hero. It showcases her writing at its best and is why Theodora Taylor fans are so faithful. I fully recommend this book and give it 4 out of 5 stars.

So as a fan of Theodora Taylor's other "Fated Mate" books, I was pretty excited to read another installment. As a whole, I really enjoyed this book and its characters...and the plot was both exciting and interesting.

The Good
~ As mentioned before I really liked both the Hero and Heroine of this story. They both had personalities that I enjoyed, and on a slightly more superficial side, I won't lie and say that I didn't enjoy the fact that Halle was both "dark-skinned" and plus size, and Nago was also on the chunky side (in the beginning at least) and nerdy. There tends to be a lot of the same kind of characters in many books, so it was nice to read about a couple that looked different to what you usually come across in romance.

~ The sub-plot of Joseph and Maggie. If I'm 100% honest I'm going to say that I almost found Joseph and Maggie a bit more intriguing than I did the "main" couple. Even though I'm probably biased since I do love a good historical romance novel. I really would have liked an entire book about them as a couple and the community of wolves that they lived in. Every time it would have a flashback to them I would get really excited to see what was coming next. Here's to hoping that Ms. Taylor hears my prayers and writes their story as a standalone *fingers crossed*

The Kiiinda Bad

~ The flashbacks. Now I know that I just said that Joseph and Maggie were one of my favorite parts of the book. And I meant that...seriously. But I think that the flashbacks kind of took away from Halle and Nago. While I vaguely understood the connection of Joseph and Maggie's tale to Nago and Halle's...I don't know how much it honestly added to their story. I enjoyed reading about them immensely, don't get me wrong. But outside of Halle going to the historical family home during her Chivaree...and her climbing into the magnolia tree at the end...I didn't see a real point as to why they were included in this book. Maybe I'm missing something.

Secondly felt like the flashbacks always happened kind of suddenly, and often without any relevance to what was happening in the current timeline. And this also applied to the flashbacks that were of Halle and Nago when they were teens. As silly as it sounds I kind of needed there to be some dates...or italic font..or those 90's sitcom swirling circles to indicate that the author had left current Nago and Halle and had gone back to past Nago and Halle. lol More than once it took me a few minutes and a couple page rereads to realize that we had suddenly gone back in time.

But overall I would say it was another good addition to the fated mate series, and I'm looking forward to reading more!

An action packed well rounded story for our star crossed lovers, Nago and Halle. Nago Nightwolf meets what he knows to be the love of his life at sixteen, when they meet at the summer camp his aunt and uncle run for the privileged prodigy of wolf kings and queens. Halle attends the camp on a scholarship, not having been able to without it due to the state of Mississippi's mange status. They instantly fall for each other and the shared packages of gummy bears. Nago, the third in a set of triplets, isn't as diplomatic as his brother Rafes, or have the bad boy cool as their brother Knud.
But to Hale he's just perfect, and they share their young hearts with each other. That is until Nago returns from the wolf special forces and comes back with unspoken tragedy. He isn't the same sweet boy Halle fell in love with, and he breaks her heart. But ten years later, he comes back to claim her as his through an old tradition of competing to catch a female wolf in heat. Wow! This series just gets better and better.
Nago and Halle's relationship started out with all the warm fuzzies of new love. And her nickname for him was just too cute. But because of Nago's inability to tame his wolf, he later made a decision that was reasonably unreasonable. He was partly ashamed and thinking what he did was best in order to spare Halle. Halle just felt burned by love, and I felt for her! And I loved the side story of Halle's great(many greats) grand parents and how their family line came to be. All around couldn't get enough!

Ms Taylor has done it again. Another great story with wonderfully written characters who, like so many of us, are looking for their happily ever after. Ms Taylor's characters are loveable and relatable which makes each and everyone so endearing. I enjoyed Nago and Halle's journey from young teens trying to find their way to adulthood and still realizing there will always be more to learn about themselves and each other. I gave this one 4 stars!

I really like this story, but it was really short. Enjoyed the background story on how the hero and heroine met, their connection and how they reunite. And that's where the story ends-pretty much-once they reunite. You can almost feel the story ending just when you hope it gets better/more in depth.
I've always thought that most of Ms. Taylor's books in the 50 Loving States series were longer....and since I enjoy her writing I didn't mind the length.
I also don't like the fact that I'm essentially buying the same books again.....the last 3 books (at least) have shorter stories and then her previous works as a bonus......but I already bought those-so its more of a waste to me.

DNF

There are two things I loathe in books...a deceased ex/spouse/partner and flashbacks. This book confused the hell out of me with the flashbacks. I spent so much time trying to figure out what year I was in and who's point of view I was reading I wasn't paying attention to the plot. I wasn't sure if this was a shifter story or a sci-fi book. I don't know...maybe my mom brain is getting the best of me this week but I honestly didn't understand what I was reading. So I decided to give up. Eh, maybe I'll come back to the series one day.

This is going to be short, to the point and without spoilers.

What I liked:
1) Nago & Halle's sweetheart summer love turned tragic misunderstanding, fast forward ten years and there's danger, betrayal then resolutions and finally ending with a happily ever after.
2) The surprising secondary storyline which I hope jumps off another series (it really peaked my interest)

What I didn't like:
1) The glossing over of Nago's "other life" during his separation from Halle. It left way too many unanswered questions for me. I mean, WAY TOO MANY unanswered questions. This is my only gripe about the story, seriously.

Would I read it again? Yes.
Do I recommend it? Yes but please read the series in order (I think I'm reading them out of order)

What did I think? I thought it was a fantastic read. You have Nago and Halle, who meet as teenagers and form a bond that develops into love. It wouldn't be a novel if there wasn't conflict. It is the reason I kept turning the pages. I was given an advanced copy and asked to check for errors but once I started I forgot about it. There is an additional story that is just as good

This book presents two stories; the secondary story takes place in Mississippi between 1837 and 1847 and tellings a love story between a Native American wolf shifter and an escaped enslaved woman who transitioned into a wolf shifter after being bitten. The primary story has a more fluid time line and takes place 2 centuries later than the secondary romance between 2037-2047 and continues to fluctuate 10 years into the past at various times. The primary romance is the love story of Nago and Halle. The hero, Nago, is the youngest Nightwolf triplet and takes the longest to come into his 6'5" muscle bound handsome body. Nago Nightwolf is a billionaire, ex-military man, engineer and King of Alaska. Nago meets and falls in love with Halle Queen of the Mississippi Pack when they are about 16-years old and she is working as a dishwasher and kitchen hand at a Nightwolf Louisiana Ranch. Two years later, Nago gets Halle a gown and comes to the Mississippi Kingdom and takes Halle to the prom. A few years later, Nago returns to the Mississippi Kingdom and wins Halle in a chivaree and mates her. He leaves before she's out of heat and doesn't return for another ten years when she starts another heat cycle and chivaree. Didn't care for all the back and forth in time nor the lack of focus on Nago and Halle. Too much time apart to establish a believable love connection.

I enjoy reading about Nago and Halle.

I love the start of the book how Nago was a chunky boy and was known as the "Not so Hot brother" but still unique in his own way. I love the chemistry of how the two got together and begin to go out. I love that you read this experience through Nago point of view, and you really capture his emotions and love for Halle.

It makes you wish that you can read your other half, thoughts and mind to see if he or she ever thought of you like that. Ever knew that you were really the one person they wanted to spend there entire life with.

What I also love the most about this book is that when Halle is explaining the story of her ancestors, you actually read about it in first person view. You really get to see how the two people who started there line met. As well as what they dealt with, I enjoy the fact that it's not just her telling how the story went. But another story inside the book, it made finding out about them stick even more.

I love how really protective Nago is, and how he is not going to allow anyone to have his mate. He was going to keep her no matter what anyone says. Even though he messed up big time with her to begin with.

I do love the fact that Nago mentions to his father that he wasn't going to allow anyone to have his mate. And that if will be a cold day in hell before he allow anyone else to claim her. ( not exact words but you get the point.) Then he brings up the fact that his father should know what he's talking about since he too went across time to chase after his run away mate. Aka Nago's mother, who ran away from their father, while pregnant with him, and his other two brothers.

I found this more than interesting, I would have love to read about the story between his father and mother. I wonder what his father could've done to his pregnant mate who was pregnant with not a baby, not twin but triplets. That is a story that I would love to read and find out more about, I know it's probably as juicy as it sounds.

Nago is the youngest triplet, then it goes Knud as the second oldest, and then Rafes as the oldest. They also have two younger sisters, but what I'm truly interested to know is what is the story with the two oldest brother. You get more than a little taste of the other two, but I know that it's just as juicy as Nago.

Nago is the Alpha King, which I found surprising since he the youngest, but it's to be expected when you read about how strong he gets after he goes into the army. Rafe is the president of I believe North America, Or Dokuta wolves. I'm not sure, cannot really remember, there is a lot that happen that I'm struggling to remember every single thing. But it doesn't really tell you much on what Knud does, or is. But it's a good thing that his book is out and I have it, and I'm at the very beginning, I really mean 4 pages into it, and I believe he is a doctor. But I could be wrong, will no for sure once I read his book.

I really like this book, and if you want to know what Knud is you should also get his book and read it as well.

4.5 stars for me. I would've given it 5 stars if it had been longer. I really like this couple and wanted more to read of their initial romance and then rekindling it.

Nago, as fans of Theodora Taylor's books know, is youngest triplet son of a fabulous couple from one of her earlier novels, "Wolf and Prejudice." He's a sweet and pudgy teen when we meet him in this story, a smart young man who would rather eat candy and play his video games. He meets Halle one day when she sees her under a sink being a handy woman at summer camp. He's instantly smitten and she soon returns his feelings. Young love at its most charming and they're so very appealing together. They are still together when the summer ends, doing their best to keep their long distance love intact. Then things swerve left hard between them, leaving Halle alone and bewildered.

Twelve years later Halle is reunited with Nago when he bids on her to win her in a race to mate her. He won't let any other wolf have her and she's understandably unhappy to have him back in her life. Nago is not the same as he was as tragedies have altered him. He's not as sweet and carefree as he once was and he won't let anyone stand in his way of reuniting with Halle.

I very much enjoyed the interactions with Halle and Nago. The teen romance between them is delightfully optimistic young love, with cute nicknames and a purity to their interactions. The adult versions of Halle and Nago are somewhat similar. Halle, definitely is a lot like she was at younger age, just a little more jaded about men for good reason. Nago, though, has grown from being a sweet beta to being an alpha male, one who is almost as boneheaded as his father was at a similar age. The two characters have chemistry and one can see from the beginning how crazy Nago is about Halle from jump but extenuating circumstances got in the way of their love. Well, that and Nago being a bit too much like his father.

There is a b-story romance in the novel too, a lovely historical romance that ties in to the present day romance nicely. Also, there's confirmation on Rafes' mate in Nago's story, so that gives readers something to look forward to enjoying. I totally recommend Nago.

Not like the description

2.5 stars would be more correct. I haven't read the other books in this series so I had no expectations other than the description. It is a standalone so not reading the series didn't matter. Here's what this book is really about. A poor "not as pretty as expected" (I HATE that description) girl goes to wolf camp on a scholarship and meets the youngest of three princes. Just so happens he is not very tall and chubby which means he doesn't intimidate her.

They become friends and fall in love. During the story we jump around in time. You're told at the beginning of the chapter when you jump forward or far backward but you're never told when you're back to real time so it can be confusing. He comes back from serving in the marines after two years and he's miraculously taller, muscular and harder. They have sex (mate) and he leaves while she's passed out in a sex coma. His dad tells her that Nago left. No explanation.

Ten years of emotional torture later and she agrees to a barbaric ritual in which she'll be hunted down and the winner will mate her, get her pregnant and become king of her father's poor "mange" kingdom full of hicks and rundown buildings. Nago comes back to participate of course.

Throughout her life she's been tricked, manipulated and mistreated by every man in her life. But it's ok because we keep jumping around in time so you don't get too wrapped up in her story. You can read about her ancestor from 200 years ago or just try to figure out what time it is.

There were good parts. The story of the ancestor was good and the current story was pretty good it was all just jumbled and drawn out. The ancestor story should have been told in two or three chapters all together. Nago's actions and manipulations could have been explained better and there was no reason to jump around in time. To be honest, I almost stopped reading the book several times in the early chapters but I decided to keep with it. I'm glad I did because the story made sense in the end. It's just too bad that it didn't become untangled unto the last few chapters.

Nago is the son of Rafe and Alisha.
He is 1 of a set of triplets, that was born and raised in the Viking Era when Alisha went through the time gate to get away from Rafe after their mating.
Nago meets the love his life at a summer camp run by his Aunt Tu and Uncle Grady.
Camp Nightwolf is where his life changes when he walks into the kitchen to see Halle's butt sticking out of the dishwasher.
They have a whirlwind summer romance, eating junk food, making out, talking on end, until the summer ends and they have to return home.
Halle is the Princess of Mississippi, which is a poor mange state.
While Nago is the future King of Alaska.
In the way of young love, life tears this young couple apart.
It takes some years of them being apart, and Nago being in the military that they are reunited.
In a cruel twist of fate, Halle goes into heat, and things unravel from there.
10 years later, they come face-to-face again when Halle agrees to a Chivaree- which is the equivalent of Halle going into heat and being chased down and mated by the first wolf to catch her.
There's no way that Nago could stay away.
He can let no one else claim what is rightfully his.
This is an intensely dramatic tale, just like the ones that preceded it.
You will laugh and you will cry, so hold on tight.
I thoroughly love this series!!

This is DUMB!
From the dumb ass fake language and words like Bio, Elle, Kravnificent and many others.
I dislike she really don't ask a question and do everything for her people. Chick a push over and not made to be a queen. She always chose to be a victim of everything. Plus I think she says it as well. Your mate left you and his father led you to believe he didn't want you. Go hunt his butt down and demand questions on why y'all are HALF mated.

This takes plot is based on one scene really.

Heavily filled with backstory and flashbacks but they keep hitting you so hard. You end up not know what the freak happens until it's over.


You went to lost in the messy trying to figure everything out.
You start in the past almost in slavery to future with drones, the futric with bio (some type of mobile device). Then The writer pings you back and forth in these eras you don't know where you are.



To barely making it out alive in this.

This is my review and how I see it. Author Theodora Taylor continues with her 50 Loving States series with Nago, His Mississippi Queen. This is book one (1) of a series within a series. In the beginning, I was a bit confused with how the story started, until I got to the end of the book where Ms. Taylor in her creative writing wrapped it up nice a pretty. The main characters to this story had many obstacles in their way one main obstacle was the main male character and the things that he faced. I have to say one thing about the males that Ms. Taylor writes when they have a woman in their sites be it a she-wolf or a human female no one stands in their way.

The father in this story, being a wolf himself, was well aware how fated mates worked. For him to be how he was and what he eventually did, I was glad about the outcome of what happened to him.

This was a good read. I can't wait to read what will happen with the other two brothers, especially Rafes.

Finally, the Nightwolf Trilogy starts! I enjoyed Nago and Halle's story. Loved how they met and fell in love, and how devoted Nago was to Halle. When things fell apart, Nago definitely left me scratching my head a time or two. Like Halle, it took me a minute to forgive him, because his actions were questionable. That whole situation with Eric and Halle's father was beyond crazy, but Nago handled it and got back on my good side, lol.

I must admit that I was a bit more intrigued by Joseph and Maggie's story. I was captivated by Maggie from Page 1, and I'm pretty sure I didn't breathe the entire first chapter. Joseph was a sweetheart! I loved how he treated Maggie and taught her all that he knew, never treating her like a slave. And when he named her! So sweet. I knew who/what he was, and couldn't wait to see how it would be revealed to Maggie. All I'll say is very nicely done, Theodora Taylor! Hope we'll see more from this family in the future.

Another good read! Eagerly looking forward to whatever is next.

OMG

If I could give this book more than 5 stars I would. I loved both stories. When I purchased this book I did not realize that it was a dbl book. After I realized that small fact, I also realized I had 2nd the book. I was not upset. Both stories we GREAT. I had already read about the Viking Wolves so I was stoked about this 2nd wolf series and I was not disappointed. I cannot wait for the 2nd dragon-wolf book about Ola and I cannot wait for the release of Knud. I have read almost everyrhing written by this author, so I knew I was in for a real treat. I loved the duel story line about Maggie and her wolf. I cried bc their love was so beautiful and tangible. I wish there had been more storyline about them. 1 won't give this book away so I won't say anything else other than Buy This Book. YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED.
