I’m just a girl, standing in front of a display case, trying to decide between chocolate and cupcakes.

Seriously decadent, panty soaking, melt in your mouth chocolate. The ultimate love drug.

Or...

The cupcake with its smooth, sweet icing, its gooey center, and cream that spurts out when you...

Wait! You thought this was actually about sweets?

Well kinda, but it’s also about men.
Two of them. Gabe and Dylan. Friends. Business partners. One charming chocolatier, one brash baker.
I’m pretty sure I’m not supposed to want either of them. After all, I moved to Reverence to escape gossip and mend my broken heart.

But I do want them. Both of them. How am I supposed to choose between two hot guys who are determined to win over this quiet kindergarten teacher? Indulging my sweet tooth is out of the question. Falling off the wagon can only end in pain.

But like any addict, one taste isn’t nearly enough. Can a girl really have her cake, and fall in love with two?

Misti Murphy writes sweet and funny, sometimes frustrating and always swoony romantic comedies with just a teensy bit of angst.

When she's not writing she lives in an imaginary world full of happy humans, glitter, and unicorns.

Not that being a mother of four, plus four fur kids isn't practically the same thing. Except when they steal the Tim Tams.

(Kangaroos are practically unicorns, right?)

Summer Sweets, 25, is a kindergarten teacher trying to get past her recent break-up. She moves to a new town where she meets up with her older brother’s friend. Gabe Nash, 35, and Dylan O’Brien run a bakery together. They both quickly have an attraction to Summer.

The cover for this book is really well done and super hot! And the premise sounded tasty. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite live up to my expectations.

I had trouble connecting with these characters. In the beginning I needed more development, both character and relationship wise. I never quite got why Summer was so special, especially to Dylan. In fact, I found myself rooting for Gabe. That shouldn’t happen in a truly romantic ménage. It shouldn’t feel like a love triangle and it did. There was just too much competition, too much of the guys contemplating her being with only one of them. Two guys working together to please a woman is hot; two guys fighting over her is just drama. There wasn’t nearly enough of the former and way too much of the later. Ménage romance can be tricky to pull off, and it requires the trio to work together and be equals, to sell the reader on the three of them together for the long haul. For the most part, that just didn’t happen here for me. It felt like they were just sharing her instead of building a cohesive relationship with her.

Summer’s hot and cold on their threesome didn’t help matters either. She wavered too much on her commitment to the relationship, and she doubted too much. She also lacked self confidence and a backbone. I never felt she had the brass to make their alternative lifestyle work long term.

Set in the town of Reverence, there are cameos from characters in previous stories. It was nice to see them make appearances. I wouldn’t have minded seeing more of them.

This one just didn't work for me. Ultimately, enjoyment will depend on what you are looking for in a ménage story.

...

Both Heroes want a conventional relationship with the heroine. Most of the book does not consider a relationship of 3 ... They even feel jealous of each other (They even hit each other!) and claim things, to be happy in the end by magically sharing.
While they are in this conflict, she does it with one and the other. She and her hormones seem to care little about breaking the friendship of two good friends.
The h dated men chosen by her mother. Fact that he hated, but he slept with them anyway.
Oh, and it is also another typical story (Zzzzz) of Heroe friend of her brother. She has known Gabe since she was little.

(...) (...) (...)

From the moment I opened up Cocky F@#ker, the third book in Misti Murphy's Tangled Desire series, I have fallen madly for her writing. With each new book I have become a little more obsessed and addicted to the desire that she builds and the amazing characters that she creates. So, when I read the blurb for Sugar and realized that I was going to read her first menage romance and experience a double dose of the delicious heroes that she pens, I was ready and willing to partake in a new fictional journey! What I didn't expect when I first encountered Dylan, Gabe, and Summer was lots of laughs and another jaunt down the streets of Reverence with visits from past characters, along with all the heat and sugary sweetness these three characters concoct together. Misti Murphy takes us to a fictional world filled with decadent desserts, wildly inappropriate fantasies, and no need to make a decision between which man or which dessert would fulfill your latest sweet tooth...we as readers get to have our cake and eat it too, minus the calories or the heartbreak!

Summer Sweets is settling into Reverence and getting ready to take on a new elementary school class but what she doesn't expect is endless cupcakes, homemade chocolates, and two of the most gorgeous men on the planet! I couldn't help but laugh at the hilarious situations that Summer ends up in, especially in front of her two men. I love seeing her discover her bravery for going after what she wants...even when it is unconventional.

Gabriel Nash is what you would consider the clean cut, handsome all American male who happens to be a chocolatier and part owner at “Eat Me” bakery. But what a reader soon finds out is that there is more than meets the eye with this hero. I couldn't help but fall for his dominant side that only comes out to play when his “sweets” is around. The man is all hearts and flowers until it is time to get down and dirty and then you better watch out!

This wouldn't be a decadent tale without the tattooed bad boy Dylan O'Brien that makes heaven filled cupcakes and has a dirty mind and a naughty sense of humor that no one can rival. I enjoyed every minute spent with this guy, who is co owner of “Eat Me” bakery with Gabe, and the star of every girls fantasy. I couldn't wait to get up close and personal with Dylan and learn more about this man who exudes desire with every smoldering stare.

Misti Murphy gives us the most delectable, sweet toothed read that is sure to satisfy every craving both in and out of the bedroom. I highly recommend Sugar for a guilty pleasure that goes right to our imagination instead of our waistline. Gabe, Dylan, and Summer keep things steaming hot and sickening sweet and leave us begging for another rush of sugar and.. you know. I cannot wait to step back into this fictional world and see what new hunger Misti's writing will spark inside of us with the next book in the Delicious Boys and Sweet Treats series. Bring on the sweet and sexy!

This is my first Misti Murphy book but it diffidently won't be my last. I LOVED this story. Gabe and Dylan are such good friends and business partners but nobody has gotten between them. So when Gabe is asked to look in on an old friends sister he thinks nothing of it. But when Gabe sees Summer again naughty thoughts come forward. But it is no better for Dylan, and for the first time in their friendship, these two have something to fight over.
But Summer is such a great character in this book, why fight over her when she wants them both. I loved that this is something new to all of them. So there is a lot of newness to everything in this book. Of course, there is an evil player in this book that you just want to smack and some great new friends that Summer makes. Hope to see a book about them!
I voluntarily read an advance reader copy for my honest review!

No sé.

Dylan, Summer and Gabe bring this story to life. It is a bizarre telling of how Summer grows a backbone and decides to take back her life, or does she really. Dylan and Gabe are best friends, who are like brothers; they each fall in love with Summer and suggest she not choose between them. There is messy situations and lots of talking to us from the fmc. This is a multiple pic story. I am sure you will laugh, with some of their antics.

Sugar.

I enjoyed this book but I thought it was a little slow. It took awhile to pick up. But eventually it did and it had a lot going on there at the end. I did like all the characters. I liked how the guys were opposites and complemented each other. Filled the spots were the other was missing. Plus they were both pretty sweet. Happy ending.

Surprisingly good

Wasnt sure what to expect when I downloaded this book but honestly it was really good. Loved the build up to the ménage but the guilt trip that summer got from her mother made me want to hit her. That said loved all three characters and the humour and lack of filters with friends. Going to look for next book.

Different but good

After realizing what this book was about I had doubts about reading it. I did get through it. Skipped over several sex scenes. I kept reading because the characters and plot were interesting.

Sugar

A ambos.

Sugar is a smokin' hot ménage! It started out as more of a love triangle (which I don't like usually) then evolved into a ménage when the Gabe and Dylan realized Summer couldn't and shouldn't have to, choose between them.

Summer has moved to Reverence to start over. She's a kindergarten teacher trying to get away from a cheating ex and an overbearing, snobbish mother. When Gabe walks into her new home and she recognizes her brother's old friend, she's instantly attracted. And then there's Dylan, Gabe's partner in their bakery, and she's just as attracted to him. And when both men make it clear they want her, and will compete with each other for her, what's a girl to do? Well, in Summer's case, she doesn't do much at all but dither around and not make a decision. I would have definitely given Sugar 5 stars if Summer hadn't gotten on my last nerve for all her waffling and indecision. The competition doesn't go well, all it does is cement the fact that Summer is attracted to both men and they're attracted to her. Finally it morphs into a true ménage where both men are willing to share her between them and not feel jealous about it. But, Summer was still holding out on the relationship, still not willing to go public, not even willing to tell the guys how she felt about them, even when Gabe declared his love right in front of her brother. To be fair, she had to think of her job, and she had been dealing with her ridiculous mother's expectations her whole life, but she still held back too much and drove me batty. I wanted to smack her and tell her to just be happy she had two sweet, sexy guys who wanted her and were willing to share her indecisive ass.

Thank God Summer finally got her head out of her ass, though, and made a decision about her men. And once she did, this ménage was great. Seriously steamy yes, but also, the feelings among all three were finally explored. I love how Gabe and Dylan are so close to each other, brothers from another mother, and how open they are with Summer about their feelings for her. For a true threesome to work, the emotional has to be just as important, if not more, than the physical, and it finally gelled among them toward the end. I wish Summer hadn't taken so long to get her head straight, but once she did, Sugar was amazing!

I love that Sugar is set in Reverence, so the Hadleys are in and out of the story, it's like seeing old friends again. I'm hoping for more from Reverence. Perhaps Dean, Ashleigh, Sam and Mandy might get their own stories.

I received an ARC for an honest review.

Misti Murphy
Author review
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 HoT stars

Ok, so let be known, I haven’t read very many ménage books because the ones I have read were either badly written or to corny, but I’ve now found one I love. Misti Murphy has hit this one out if the park. I could see the characters, and feel their love for each other. I found the perfect quote right in the end if this book... “I was looking for this run of the mill life. This unassuming existence. And instead I have found this exceptional love” (Summer Sweets).

When Summer Sweets moved to Reverence for a normal life away from her crazy mother, as a kindergarten teacher, she never saw what life was going to throw at her. She also never saw a huge cock cake being delivered for her from the towns sweet cafe, Eat Me. This begins Summer’s journey to finding something she never expected, but something she cannot turn away from. Upon meeting up with her brother’s friend to help her move in she is gifted another gorgeous hunk as well.

Gabe and Dylan are Reverence’s Sweet boys, but not in a metaphorical sense. Gabe has a criminal history but makes mean chocolate. Dylan, his best friend is the cake maker, this unlikely pair make up the owners of Eat Me. Lushly good to look at and those chocolate and cakes... no other explanation required. Very early on it is obvious both men fight for the gorgeous Summer, and she struggles with choosing one, but het why choose one when you have both. Together this threesome will burn up the pages while still telling a story.

With all 3 three carrying baggage, it isn’t long before their secret is no longer that. Why should they make excuses for the lifestyle they want to live. They make the perfect relationship and no one should tell them differently, all until Sam (Summer brother), Sasha ( her bitch mother) and Brock (the cheating ex boyfriend) all descent on Reverence. Let the explosions begin, but when Summer has these muscle men to defend her, she is safe.

Come join Summer, Gabe and Dylan on a hot ride of sex, love, cake , chocolate and cream, lot’s of cream... As a fun read I will definitely returning to it at a later stage,

4 and a 1/2 stars!

I thought it was a great read. Summer is conflicted from her past relationship with her former boyfriend Brock, so she moves away to start fresh " so to speak". He cheated on her of course.. She also moved away from her egotistical mother who is kind of a celebrity and seems to make her life into some kind of media frenzy at every turn she makes..So she moves to Reverence to get away from her over barring mother and her cheating boyfriend to live on her own , away from the spotlight and to try to heal from an anti climactic relationship (literally)..
While in Reverance Her brother Sam asked his best Friend Gabe to watch over her and help her get settled into her apartment..
So look that's how she meets Gabe and his best Friend Dylan..
There's confusion with summer.. She's trying her best to get over her ex and then these two beautiful men waltz into her life and make her question the actuality of the love that she had for Brock , it also makes her question who she is and leaves her with a hard* (pun intended) 🤣 decision.. Because she is attracted to both men..

I thought this was a very sexy book!! panty melting scenes! complete HEA! Kept me interested! All of the baking puns mixed in with the sex. I would recommend for sure. loved it!

So going into this book, I thought it was going to be a typical menage. And believe me, I love my menage stories. But this one was funny and sexy. I loved Summer. She is awesome! She's the daughter of a fitness celebrity that could never achieve that perfect body type expected from her mother. She moves away from LA for two reasons. One her previously talked about mother and two because her boyfriend of two years decided to marry someone else. She moves to Reverence and doesn't realize a friend of her brother's lives there and was told to keep an eye on her. When she sees Gabe after all these years she's definitely blown away. Thatis until she meets Dylan, Gabe's business partner and best friend. She can't decide who she's attracted to more.
Gabe and Dylan own the bakery and sweet shop. Dylan is the Baker and Gabe is the chocolatier. They have been through lots of ups and downs together. But they remain friends. It might be the competion over Summer that destroys them. Or will it? Obviously this is a story about the three of them.
I LOVED this story. I think this is the first time that I laughed my way through a menage. The characters are refreshingly real. I think I could be friends with any of them. And I definitely will be looking for more from this author.

You know we have THAT one friend that’s brash around the edges and worries you a bit when around polite society. Well Gabe has a best friend like that, in Sugar by Misti Murphy a new to me author you get to meet Dylan THAT friend, Summer and of course Gabe.

Leaving and relocating after your feelings got trampled and a mother that is hard to love. Summer is off to show her mom she can make it on her own. Summer makes the perfect kindergarten teacher you know that good girl personality.

I really liked this story it had me laughing and that is always a plus. How lucky can a girl get drawing the attention of a hot baker and yummy chocolate maker? What do you do when you and your bestie falls for the same oh so good girl?

We have a past to forget about, a over protective brother and a society mother, who always has her nose in business that doesn’t concern her. Fun story line, cool character personality and fan worthy hot scenes. Grab sugar and find out just how sweet summer dessert can be. I read and reviewed this voluntarily and I recommend it. Enjoy.
