LIGHT IMPRINT INTRODUCTION

Identifying a disconnect between walkable urban design and green infrastructure, Tom Low launched the Light Imprint Initiative in 2007. Light Imprint is an urban design approach that includes a tool box of techniques to manage stormwater and natural drainage. Interest generated since 2007 has grown exponentially whenTom Low began creating Light Imprint overlays for projects in the planning and construction stages. He assembled and led teams of experts. Following an intensive period of international peer review he published the Light Imprint Integrating Sustainability and Community Design. Light Imprint has grown and has had a ripple affect across the urban design, engineering, planning, environmental, green infrastructure and storm water management industries. This Light Imprint Introduction is the lastest resource and includes Lessons Learned, Areas of Application, Technical Advantages, and several additional Case Studies in cluding Light Imprint Overlay Analysis, Example Calculations, Design Details, and Cost Estimates Savings Breakdown Tables. Tom continues to lectures and conduct workshops internationally on Urban Design and Light Imprint and applying these techniques and design elements to Urban Design projects internationally. Thomas E.
