Hard Case 9: Isle of Darkness

Rate this book
John Harding’s Monster Squad challenges the new MS-13 arrivals in Oakland with death and deportation. Nick McCarty takes a contract on Mexican pirates who killed a man’s son on Falcon Lake in Texas, while covering the hit with another book signing. Mehdi Al-Kazar wants revenge for the killing of Kalil Al-Kazar, whom Nick blew up in a Michigan grenade attack. Interlinking threads from Antifa/BLM thugs, both the Monster Squad and Unholy Trio tangle with, lead to a terrorist enabler they thought was in prison. He holds the key to getting both Mehdi Al-Kazar and the Isle of Darkness, where Cafrey Rothstein hosts and enables terrorist leaders on a modern-day sex slave island. A last second injury catapults a substituting John Harding into the fight of his life against a former Heavyweight Boxing Champion, to gain UFC reinstatement.

Loved it!!

As always Bernard knocked this book out if the galaxy! I am really happy that he continues to incorporate Nick's posse in the Harding series. Thus author literally makes me yell out loud and cheer the monsters on. Every time a book comes out I download it. I am already looking forward to the next book.

Bernard is a master at putting America first.

This was a great read, action packed with his usual sense of humor. I recommend that you read the complete series, you won't be disappointed. Well done Bernie.

This series just keeps getting better

What a pleasure to read Isle of Darkness, the latest installment of the Hard Case series. Once again the Monster Squad teams up with the Unholy Trio to accomplish some worthy missions. From trouble with Jean's teacher to trouble at a book signing to interrupting a kidnapping, these guys take it all in stride.

Our heroes tackle the homeland problems involving the BLM, Antifa, MS-13, CAIR, cartels, and homegrown traitors. Harding shows his superiority as MMA champion and McCarty hasn't lost his touch as a sniper. You'll want to stand and cheer as they invade the Isle of Darkness.

In my humble opinion, this is DeLeo's best work to date.

Hard case series, must read if you like military action adventure.

Ok, being a veteran i liked 98% of this series. Very good pace, lot's of action, good character building, fundamental knowledge of weapons and tatics. On the other side of the coin, no force no matter how elite can carry out so many back to back missions without taking a casualty. That said, i understand this is fiction and maybe no losses was DeLeo's goal. I hope our Government wakes to the death cult threat before someone like Jonh Harding is needed in the US. So that's the only problem I had with the entire 9 book series. Moving on to the Nick McCarty assassin series.
Thanks Bernard DeLeo,
From a fan not a book killer!

Always a good read

While Mr. Sleep could use some work on syntax and grammar (or, at least a better proofreader), it does not detract from his abilities as an author who is adept at creating and sustaining tension in the story. His characters are well drawn and likable. His villains always get what's coming to them in gruesome justice. Not coverage squeamish but, if you enjoy pulp fiction, Bernard Lee Deleo is the master.

Wouldn't it be nice....

I'm singing that old beach boys tune in my head, but changing the lyrics to "wouldn't to be nice to do this in real life". I just love the way Mr Deleo writes about how we can or could take the liberal idiots out of commission. I really enjoy his perspective on the world. He writes what's wrong, with comedic timing while waving the flag.

Great read as always in the Hard Case/Cold Blooded series. Deleo has created two very entertaining series in these. If you like lots of action with a dose of dark humor then give these series a try.

I've now completed reading the complete assassin series and monster series. Enjoyed every word of the two related series. I also enjoyed the added stories with the grown up viper and her minions. I certainly hope that there will be additional novels in the series.

Great Read

I have enjoyed this series. John is full of surprises. Nick is reliable Nick. It’s interesting how the monsters all come together with Nick’s team.

The series continues to be great! Wonderful look at the problems facing the USA and the world today. An honest look at way politicians and elected officials respond to PC crowd.

Wish we could really beat the mutants back!

Keep writing good never ends! At least we don't want it to end even if the big A tries to silence our hope!
