ah, gritty 70s YA. nothing like the sophisticated fantasy-filled YA we have now. these kids didn't have problems of saving the world, just, I'm fat and where's my dad?

gotta say, stuff like this - the SE hinton, the paula danziger - just seems kind of depressing to me now. grey. I prefer cassandra clare and holly black.

i really like this one because it tells why we don't bully people and how it hurts them and makes them want to do bad things.
