When you think beautiful coffee table books this is the type of book that comes to mind. Many of the pages are simply wonderful photos of the land and peoples throughout the province of Quebec. The photos show all the seasons but are not arranged by season. I loved just looking at them because the longer I looked the more I could see and yet a quick look also made me feel calm or invigorated depending on the photo.
The book is divided into 5 chapters defined by the location it covers. A brief introduction for each chapter starts us and then brief text describes the photos often for the following pages so that the images can take up the maximum amount of page. If there are subregions within a chapter those are also described and then the photos speak for themselves.
Each chapter includes a "Travel Diary" that is a snippet of an experience that author Mathieu Dupuis had in the region that made the author more relatable. The "Travel Planner" sections are not like travel guides which offer specific itineraries but instead suggestion for where you might explore in the greater region of that chapter if you have 1, 2, or 3 days to spend.
