"A tremendous resource for those wanting to study and teach the Bible with an understanding of how the gospel is woven throughout Scripture." --Bryan Chapell, Pastor, Grace Presbyterian Church
The Knowing the Bible series is a resource designed to help Bible readers better understand and apply God's Word.
These 12-week studies lead participants through books of the Bible and are made up of four basic components: (1) reflection questions help readers engage the text at a deeper level; (2) "Gospel Glimpses" highlight the gospel of grace throughout the book; (3) "Whole-Bible Connections" show how any given passage connects to the Bible's overarching story of redemption, culminating in Christ; and (4) "Theological Soundings" identify how historic orthodox doctrines are taught or reinforced throughout Scripture.
With contributions from an array of influential pastors and church leaders, these gospel-centered studies will help Christians see and cherish the message of God's grace on every page of the Bible.
Really grateful for this study. It provides such a rich theological understanding of the books being studied, God’s character, and how the gospel is woven through the entire Bible. It’s a really helpful study if you’re personally lamenting and have big questions for God, as the authors of Lamentation, Habakkuk, and Zephaniah provide great examples of.
This is another great study in the "Knowing the Bible Series." If you have never studied Lamentations, Habakkuk, and Zephaniah in detail then I would highly suggest doing this study. Each book is studied in depth and lays out how these books connect to the whole Bible and God's story of redemption. Christ is clearly displayed in Lamentations, Habakkuk, and Zephaniah. As we await the coming judgment, we are sure that in Christ, we will escape God's wrath, but only because God poured out his wrath upon Christ on the cross.
Good commentary and theology but the questions on Habakkuk and Zephaniah were really lacking. Supposed to spend 3 weeks on Habakkuk and 3 weeks on Zephaniah but each were more like 1-2 weeks worth of content.
