A bit overwhelming in terms of details and images - your eye doesn't know where to settle.

Barcelona was covered excessively, the provincial towns not enough (just 30 pages out of 200).

The fold-out map was excellent, but the references in the book to map coordinates never referred to this map or the other small maps scattered throughout the guide. Rather, they were to a separate set of maps at the end of the book.

DK Eyewitness Travel Barcelona and Catalonia is your in-depth guide to the very best of the city and region. Take in the major sights, from Antoni Gaudí's extraordinary church, Sagrada Familia, to the great art museums and galleries. It is a beautiful city with wonderful people. A had a look at a number of guides for our trip to barcelona, all the content is roughly the same but the laminated fold out map was a life saver after it rained for the first couple of days.

The DK travel guide books have a great overview of a country or city. I love how they incorporate a lot of the history while keeping it fun and entertaining to read. Lots of pictures too!

Decent travel guide. I am not the biggest fan of travel guides as I feel you can get a lot more information and up to date advice online. I only read travel books if I borrow them from the library.

Concise. Lots of recommendations. Good photographs
Would have gotten 5 stars if it had more maps.
