of my little soul mate's passing... my Westie, I decided to read this book. I always tell my little dog to stay with mom and he still does. I feel his spirit. He taught me so much about life. I could not relate to the stories about reincarnation in this book, but, it was interesting to read the author's experiences and beliefs.
I was excited to read this book, but it was a disappointment. The author talks about pets she's had in the past and how she intersected with them in past lives. There isn't explanation of how she knows about these past lives, she simply describes the relationships. Her writing style is choppy and the story lines bounced around a lot. #ComeBack #NetGalley
Interesting enough but I would have liked to have been told how the author knew that this cat/dog was this or that person in a previous life. Otherwise this is just a collection of stories about the various animals she owned herself or knew in the neighbourhood. I was given this ARC by the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
I began reading and couldn't put it down. The book has a decidedly philosophical undertone, i.e. it's not a bunch of new-age gibberish. I'm finding her writing style very clear, organized and thought provoking. Her references are to learned and respected sources, e.g. Socrates, Roman literature, and the Bible. Animal lovers, humanitarians, thinkers, and anyone who wants to become a better person and spread kindness, compassion, and decency around will find this a most enjoyable read.
