This, the first book in the Bluford Series, centers on the life of Bluford sophomore Darcy Wills. Darcy contends with the return of her long-absent father, the troubling behavior of her younger sister Jamee, and the beginning of her first relationship.

THe setting is at bluford high ans at home.Jamee is more like a noty girl that really doesnt want to listen. And doesnt realize things really fast and notice her own mistake. darcy knows what is good from right and protects her sister every time if she likes it or not. Her mom is a hard working person
Have you ever wanted to read a good mystery book? This might be the right one for you. This book was overall good. Some parts got very interesting and exciting.
The books setting is mostly in Jamee and her sister Darcy's highschool then switches up to the mountains in the end. This setting is important to the story because this is where most of the exciting events happen and where problems are and solved at. The conflict is person vs fate because Darcy and her mom have fate that Jamee would show up healthy and safe. The theme is faith and hope, in the story the girls have faith that their grandma would get better and everything would be as before, their family being back together again. In the beginning the girls find out their dad left them to go live with a younger women in New York. This made a major effect on the girl but mostly Jamee. She starts having problems with her boyfriend who beat her. After Darcy had been noticing a stranger following her she decides to call 911, which tell her that the man is her dad. They couldnt believe it. Why? Why had their dad come back after five years? Darcy thought to herself. This news affecred Jamee even more because her dad and her were very close to eachother and he had just decided to leave them just like that. But, the girs dont want their dad back, theyre still hurt over the fact he had left them. So after awhile Jamee runs away, where? Nobody knows, not even her closest friend. Crazy to find her sister, Darcy searches everywhere for her sister, even her dad goes along. Then, after a few days grandma tells Darcy,"We went to the mountains and ate fried fish and listened to the wind in the trees. She said, "Im so happy, Grandma. I feel safer here than anywhere in the whole world." This made Darcy get an idea of where her sister might be. Darcy call her friend to drive her to the mountains to find her. After they find her there, Darcy sees their dad there too. When they see that Jamee looks hurt and take her to the hospital. Then, they all talked again and everything got better.
The point of view in the story is 1st person because the characters in there are the ones talking. The title relates to the story because in the beginning Jamee is lost with who she really is but towards the end she starts to realize what shes doing is wrong and starts to change. The title also relates to the story because at first the girls father isnt with them but then towards the ending he showed up after five long years and acts like nothing ever happened.
My favorite part in the story was the ending because in the end Darcy and her sister are back together at the hospital and their father and mother are also there together like before. This book teaches people alot of things, for example, it teaches people to be careful who you hang out with because in the story Jamees boyfriend, Bobby, started making up rumors about her and people started to look at her different. I thought the book was overall was good but I think the author should've added more to the end like what happens after the family is all together in the hospital with Jamee? Do they all get together like the past or did their dad leave again? This was my opinion over the book.
I rate this book 4 stars because the book explains everything well but I thought the book should've had more added to towards the end like more details, but overall it was good. I would recommend this book to anyone that likes types of mystery and drama books.
I'm exitated because I finished my first book!!!!!!!!. I choose this book because is an interesting novel. when I started to read I not wanted to stop, because it kept me like I want to know what's going to happen next. so, I extrongly recommend this book.
Lost and found, sounds like a title of a little kid story doesn’t it? A little girl lost her favorite toy and she went on a journey to find it and obviously she found it. This story has nothing to do with that, this story is actually about a Girl named Darcy who says that she was being watch by someone she didn’t know, a person was leaving her threatening notes, and the worst thing happened when her sister disappeared. I find this story to be nightmarish, engaging, and very realistic. It’s not a story about a little girl that went on a journey for her lost toy, but a story that a girl goes on a hunt for her sister and a race to save her family.
To start thing off, I found this story to be filled nightmarish facts. Darcy stated “Someone is stalking me.” After I read that it felt like someone was standing right behind me while I was reading this book, kind of nightmarish isn’t it? When I read that someone was leaving her messages on a piece of paper in her locker I began to ponder over the fact that what if this really happened, how would someone handle it if they where in a situation like this.
Next, this book is said to be engaging not just by me but by plenty of other people. Take for instance, at the beginning of the book it’s a page where people give comments about the book, one comment says “I found it very easy to lose myself in this book.” When I read that it made me realize the same exact thing. I personally got lost in this book at the very beginning, since I am a person that is deeply in love with music, the first thing that happened in the story was when Darcy started rapping so I just couldn’t stop reading it after that.
Finally, we come to the realistic part of this story. I and maybe even the person that is actually reading this essay say that this could possibly happen in real life. Real life things occur constantly in this story, things that are spooky to even think about. There’s not much too really say about the realistic part of this story, as stated before this could happen to you.
In conclusion, this book is not about a little girl that lost her toy and went on a journey to go find it, it’s about a Teenager that went on a journey to find her sister and to save her family. It all started over a mysterious stranger, and threatening messages that were sent to Darcy. I would have to say that this book is nightmarish because as you read it you will feel like somebody is standing right behind you. It’s engaging because as a person that like’s all types of music when you first read it Darcy is rapping, and of course realistic because thing that Darcy went through can actually happen in real life.
Lost and Found is the first book to the Bluford Series. It is about a girl named Darcy. She was paired up with with the last girl she had wanted to be paired up with for a science project on tidal waves. Her partner's boyfriend took the two to a nearby tidal wave, and Darcy decided to go home by herself. While she was waiting at a bus stop, she noticed a silver toyota. She saw a man sitting in there looking in her direction, but she wasn't sure. Darcy started getting nervous as the street cleared and it was getting darker. The man had on a New York Yankees hat. Not too long after she noticed the car, the door opened and the man's leg swung out. Not knowing what to do, she thought about sprinting away, but she saw the bus coming. As the weeks went on she saw the toyota at school, and outside of her apartment. With her sister suddenly missing and the feeling of being stalked, she felt the need to call the police. She later found out that it was her dad, who hasn't been seen in five years.
This book was very interesting to me because the whole thing was full of mystery. There is a little bit of cause and effect in this story such as family problems which caused her sister to run away. I think the most interesting parts of the book is when Darcy kept seeing the toyota and when she was looking around for her sister. While she was looking for her sister, it seemed like the book got more and more intense even though it was the last thing that happened.
Have you heard of the book called Lost and Found from the bluford series ? Well I did and its a very good book and the characters are good in it too . If you read this book you will like Darcy because she always seted a good example for her little sister Jamee through out the whole book . The other good thing about this book is the conflict , my favorite conflict in this book is when Darcy helped her sister to stop thinking about the boy Bobby Wallace. Because Jamee wanted to stop going to school and to stop going outside over that one boy . The last thing you might like about this book is the theme , one of the themes of this story is the importance of popularity.
Some of the characters in this book is Darcy ( she was determined) , Tarah ( she was a sweetheart ) , Hakeem ( a lover ) , Jamee ( she needs help ) , Bobby ( bully ) , and Cooper ( nice ) . When Darcy sister raned away from home Hakeem , Cooper , Darcy , and Tarah went looking for her . Darcy was very determined to get her little sister back to normal since her mom or dad wasn't really in there life an there grandma was very old an couldn't run after them .Tarah stood by Darcy side through it all they had there ups an downs but that never effected there friendship.Hakeem was a quiet boy in Bluford High i guess because he was new there but, when he first layed his eye on Darcy he knew she was the one for him. Jamee was a good girl but that all changed when she met Bobby he made her steal , cut school , her grades drop , she was smoking so everything changed when they met. Bobby was a bad example for Jamee an wasn't a good boyfriend at all he drop out of school an everything.Cooper was Tarah boyfriend an became Hakeem friend an he just help with everything. The next good thing about this book is the conflict , the violence and the drama is very interesting but it can get deep . When Darcy received a horrible message left on her desk saying " YOU BETTER WATCH YOUR BACK ! " After Darcy read that she was very scared for her life an didn't come to school for a couple of days but , than she knew it was Bobby.Last but not least the most important thing about this book is the theme,The theme of lost and found was the magic of romance Darcy and Hakeem got to know each other an became the perfect couple of bluford high school .
The next book after Lost An Found is A Matter Of Trust You should also go check that out too because that's another good book of the Bluford series . The book " A Matter Of Trust " is about how Darcy Wills And this Girl Brisana Meeks were friends . But all that changed at Bluford High when Darcy started hanging with " the zeros " which are a group of people Brisana doesn't like . Now Darcy and Brisana are no longer friends and the tension between them gets deep . Darcy wasn't paying Brisana any attention when she did her little taunts and rolled her eyes . But when Darcy finds out that Brisana is trying to take her boyfriend Hakeem than Darcy knows she have to step up to Brisana .
As you can see that I be so into these books they are full of drama , romances , and they can teach you some things in life like how you can't trust everybody or to never let a boy get In the way of your future . But they are very good books you can read these books if you are going through a rough time in your life or even if you are bored in the house . The Bluford Books can be found at any library you should go right now as you are reading this to go pick the whole series up .
Lost and found over all was a pretty good book. I give 3 stars out of five. Its about a girl named Darcy who lives with her mother Mattie mae and sister Jamee. They live a pretty good life even though about 5 years ago there father left them to be with another women and live in New York. Because he felt like his life was to boring and he was only in his 40's the longest someone has ever lived in his family. So he felt he had to get away and live his life with excitement before he dies. Darcy was a very shy and stuck up kinda girl well thats what everyone thought about her in her school. She only had one friend no one else really talked to her. She secretly had a huge crush on a boy named Hakeem. But ever since her father left her sister Jamee started acting out. Dacry ends up getting into some trouble trying to protect her sister. With making new friends along the way and become a more sociable person.
I like the Bluford series, not only because it's somewhat like Black and White, but also because it talks about real life problems. For example, in the book it talks about a family without a father. People in real life also deal with this kind of situation. I like this book because I get to learn something off of it and not only read because it's an obligation.

I feel like I would’ve enjoyed it more having read it when I was a young teen, but I definitely found it a good book. It brings up topics that surprised me for this age group (I may be wrong, but I believe it’s aimed towards tweens and younger teenagers). One topic in particular surprised me: abuse. The younger sister breaks up with her high schooler boyfriend, and he ends up giving her a black eye. It doesn’t focus on it for very long (it is a short book though that talks about quite a bit which I know continues since it’s a series), but it did give a good response to it, not necessarily great but I realize that is not the main focus of this book. Also, this is meant for younger kids, not young adults. Perhaps this topic can be a bit much to delve into at this point; it’s heavy. But then again, the book brings up other “heavy” topics. I know it’s audience is younger, but I feel like a person of any age could learn something. It just may be in a vocabulary suited for a different age group.
Although this is a series, I felt like possibly too many plot points were introduced too quickly. Maybe it should’ve been spread throughout the books. Also, one thing I can’t rightfully complain about: it stinks that everything wasn’t wrapped up in the end, but then again if it was, what would they talk about in the other books? I just want to know how everything turns out!

This is a book that was recommended to me by a student, which I always have to give a shot. I thought this book was pretty good, but I thought I was going to get a more exciting mystery/crime story. The book ended up mostly just being drama, which isn’t my favorite.
I did think the author had some good opinions on how to treat people, and I was surprised since the book was written 20 years ago.
I would say this book is a little moody, and I would recommend it to people who like books about family drama or coming-of-age.
(Review previously written for a book challenge I'm doing my 6th Grade English students.)
The book “Lost And Found” feel like a family book to me and as I read the book, it makes me curious about the next chapter of the book.
What I like about the book is the main character of the book is a good sister and a good daughter. She is someone who would alway care about her family. One signpost that I noticed is contrast and contradictions. At first her father leaves their family to live with another woman, but after many years her father came back to their family. I think this book is a perfect book to me and it a book that I can understand as read.
There is nothing I don’t like about the book because this book is perfect and I would recommend this book to other people because this book is a interesting book.
The book “Lost And Found” make me want to read more about Bluford Series book because Bluford Series book are interesting book that make you want to read more book.
the book is sooooo juicy and it’s a really easy read the only reason it took so long was the snow made me like just wanna watch tv and stuff but the only complaint i have is it’s a little NPC or kinda like kid-ish for the adult topics being brought up. but i did loveeee the drama and i liked the ending, there were a couple fun plot twists (kinda predictable tho) im gonna read more in the series.
I read part of this series in high school, and as a substitute teacher I saw the books again and decided to read them again. I really liked this book. Short but still a great story and thrilling.
The outside reading book is very helpfull the book i am readind is "Losta and found" by anne schraff this book was all about darcy (main character), sister and her family. darcy she go to at "Bluford High School" darcy she is in a big trouble. And she does not know where to turn for help. first there was the mysterous stranger who started following her. Then there was the threatening note left on her desk at Bluford High school. And now her sister has disappeared. Forced into a desperete race a gainst time, darcy must take action to save her sister and her family fragile family before its is too late.
This book has alot of effort and its very particular way people in order to achieve a particular goal and overcome a particular difficulty situation and Darcy who is the main character was in vary bad situation. her sister was abducted by gang people and her family was also next. So she has to take action and safe the family and her sister.
I choose this becouse its very interesting to me and first time i the first page was kind of sad and. i keep reading unitil i got the middle of the book where Darcy's sister abducted a gang member who were following along with darcy. and its also very mysterious story that you can feel deeply that its true and is still happens so this is very good and i loved it. Darcy was worried. If she was not teamed her friend, maybe she would be teamed with some really dumb student who would pull her down. the main character (darcy) was a little ashamed of herself for thinking that way.
The part story that i liked, was when she got home "I couldn't sleep" and her mom comes in and settled into her recliner. and she said i need to sit down and catch my breath, and she said before i take shower and go to bed and she what anight we had. Two boys in critical condition from drive-bys, a four-car accident on the freeway, a broken neck, plus the usual fevers and chest pain. this part of story reflected one of my story, and, kind of similar but not as bad as they were, and, i think it stiil happens, and, will happen getting accident is not good. So driving the car i think its very easy but controlling the hard part. All its need is practicing everyday.
The part that connected to my life is that she love to protect her family to the worse have her backe life and figh for her family and others allways worry about her sister and here family to get safe and be withe her family all the time and my personal experience is that she is still have hope to come allway worrying about the family and her beautiful sister.
the part of the sory that i think is descriped very shot is where darcy going to her school and felling not safe to go her high school she is so much scared gang member and she was worrying about her sister dont what is going so first if she tell some that her sister will abduct so she did say to any one and the what happened was her was abducted. that is when she is taking action to safe her sister and her family. and her problematic was her will be next if she take action so quickely. there is some book that i have readed but not have this problem like reading a love story.
i will recommended that she very good author and sees many story like this before and she is very intelegent author and a allway share whats in her heart every time but this story its very true story if you think deeply and also a profound story.

"Lost and Found" was one of the books that I just picked off the school library shelf just because I was bored and wanted to read a book. Lost and Found is the first book o...more Lost and Found was one of the books that I just picked off the school library shelf just because I was bored and wanted to read a book. I noticed there were whole collections of them, they were the Bluford Series. Lost and Found is the first book of all. As I was reading it, everybody was telling if I read one I won't stop reading the rest of them. Lost and Found is about how teenagers think, the mistakes they made and what lessons they learned from it.
Reading books about teenagers or watch movies about young adults, interest me a lot because they sometimes relate to me or somebody I know. Darcy Wills was the main character of the book. She was a 16-year-old and a sophomore at Bluford High. She was smart, shy and only had one best friend named, Brisana. She was hated by most of the students at Bluford because of her Academic Achievement and they always thought that Darcy saw herself too good to talk to them. But Darcy thought the opposites. Later on Brisana broke her friendship with Darcy because Darcy became friend with Tara and Cooper whom Brisana called the "trash people".
Jamee Wills, Darcy's younger sister, who is he other main character of the book. Jamee was in eight grade and was dating a sophomore at Bluford by the name of Bobby Wallace. Bobby Wallace was known to be dangerous. He would make Jamee steal for him, get her involve in drugs and many other bad and dangerous stuff. Darcy would always lectured Jamee about staying away from Bobby, but she would never listen. She thought Bobby loved her because she was crazy about him too. One day, after Darcy had told Jamee about all the bad things Bobby was telling his friends about Jamee. Jamee decided to break up with him. Bobby abused her and beat her up badly. Jamee would lie to her mom about the black eye and the bruises. Jamee was felt lost ever since their father left five years ago and their grandmother had a stroke last year and totally changed.
Jamee did what most teenagers would do, but is also stupid, she ran away. Jamee went to the mountains where she and her dad used to go skiing. It was in mid-October so it would be cold, of course. Their father decided to appear out of nowhere after five years. He was aware of his daughter disappearance and went on her rescue. He had thought of the mountains and found Jamee laying down, and nearly dies. Jamee later admitted what she did was wrong and would never do something as stupid as she did. Darcy and Jamee decided to forgive their father after his confessions to them of being wrong for leaving his family.
Lost and Found was very enjoyable to read. I would recommend every teenagers to read it, because it talk about the reality in high school and also the reality in teenage relationships. Lost and Found also let teenagers know that running away from home isn't no solutions of any of their problems.
Lost and Found: Bluford High #1. Before, I didn't think much of this series; I thought they were just shallow novels written in a superficial context to keep us "entertained." Then, when I went to one of my local libraries one day, shopping around for another bounty, my eyes fell upon the novels and I thought, "well, I kind of feel like something with drama and is easy to read." So, I settled on this first installment to the Bluford High series. Honestly, I give it a solid 3.2. It was well written, had a beautiful message, and didn't take forever to get through. It was simply....simple.
In this we have out main character, Darcy Wills, caring for her sick grandmother, dealing with her hotheaded sister, Jamee, a mother whose engrossed in work, and a father who left several years earlier. Also, she's forced to team up with a girl she doesn't like at her school, Tarah, for a biology assignment. Though many things conflict Darcy, her main concern is her reckless younger sister. On top of it all, Darcy's father returns, leaving her emotions in a total jumble. There's no main antagonist, no central problem and no straight forward story; really, we get a look into the life of this character, and at a very pivotal time, too. And the problems that Darcy deals with are all pretty realistic. Plus, though it doesn't really fit the story but it's a good message to convey, a very important lesson Darcy learned is to not judge a book by it's cover. In the beginning, she really didn't like Tarah because she and her friend, Brisana(What name is 'Brisana', anyway?) Looked down on her and some other teens at their school as 'low lives' and 'zeroes.' Since Darcy is forced to work with Tarah on an assignment, she learns that she's more than she looks; the same with her boyfriend, Cooper. This also shows how people in general would and possibly will look down on others because they have certain advantages. That's deep and a great concept to work with in a novel like this. I don't like how it kind of didn't fit in with the story, yet I found that it worked in some places. The saddest part of this novel is when the father comes back. It's truly sad, upsetting almost. I give most of my praise to that.
The characters aren't rave-worthy, but they worked for this story. I found that they were more driven by emotion than personality; Darcy Wills is the prime example of this. Yes, we first see that she's kind of stuck up, but is really just shy. But, take that away and she's pretty bland. I'm eager, though, to read about her again in the second installment, as hinted by the epilogue at the end of this novel. Jamee had more personality and, truly was the deepest character. She was the one who was hurting the most, and we saw how she buried that pain through blasting somber rap music and acting out. A great job with this character, if you ask me.
Overall, the book was okay. Schraff depicted a realistic story with real characters, real situations and real circumstances. This book was, in my opinion, REAL. And that's what I mostly liked about it. It sets the mood for the series and gives you a hint for what's truly in store. I will be reading on.

Personal Response- I just finished reading Lost and Found. This book was powerful in a lot of ways. I didn't want to put the book down. It was like a big mystery while reading this book, and I feel like that is a big reason why it was so good. The authors that write the Bluford series, definitely do a great job keeping the reader interested.
Plot- This story was about two sisters that were pretty close but always had some issues. Jamee was the younger sister who started dating Bobby. Darcy was the older sister. She told Jamee to stay away from Bobby, who was a bad person. Jamee didn't listen. When they broke up, Bobby started to hit her. Later in the story, Darcy was being stalked by someone in a grey Toyota. She didn't know who it was, but they kept following her. When she called the cops, the cops made the man get out of the car. It was Darcy’s dad, who had been gone for a while because Darcy’s parents separated. Jamee ended up running away because of all the drama with school and her family life. Everyone went searching for her. Her dad then found her in a spot where Jamee and him used to hang out before Jamee’s parents separated. The whole family ended up being together again.
Characterization- Darcy was the older of the two sisters. She was very independent in her own way. She was the one being stalked by that car. Darcy was close to her little sister Jamee. Jamee was really bull-headed and it was either her way, or no way. She was very stubborn and was always stressing about something going on, which is why she ran away. Darcy and Jamee’s parents didn't get along. They were split up until the very end of the story. Bobby Wallace was a bad person. Nothing good came from him. For some reason, Jamee seemed to really like Bobby. Darcy warned Jamee about him, but Jamee didn't listen. She ended up getting hurt by Bobby.
Setting- The setting of this story was at Darcy and Jamee’s High School, Bluford High. The story also took place on the mountains, especially towards the end of the story. This location is important because it's where most of the exciting events happened in the story. The time this story took place was present day.
Thematic Connection I feel like there are a few different messages in this story. There is one in particular that I believe is the best. That is to really be careful who you decide to hangout with. People never know who they might turn out to be. Just like when Jamee wouldn't listen to Darcy about Bobby being a bad person. Jamee went out with him anyways and then got hurt. People just need to be more careful and use their brains.
Recommendation I recommend this book to any gender of the ages 13 and up. This book was very interesting and exciting at parts. This book has a lot of mysteries in it surprisingly. It's the first of the Bluford series that has had a lot of mysterious parts. It was a pretty good read and I recommend it if you're familiar with the Bluford series.
I read the book Lost and Found by. Anne E. Scraff. The main character Darcy gets straight A's at Bluford high. But besides that her home life is tough. Her dad left her and her family 5 years ago. It hit her little sister Jamee the hardest. She started hanging out with the wrong crowd and acting out, it got worse her grandmother suffered a stroke shes living with them but she talks crazy sometimes, and her mother works all the time trying to keep a roof over their heads. Darcy only has one friend. But when shes not paired with her in a project, she gets paired with someone else. She hates it at first. But starts becoming friends with her and her boyfriend. But a strange man has been following Darcy and after Jamee got a black eye from her boyfriend when she broke up with him she got a threatening note from on her desk. Jamee's ex attacks her but Tarah's boyfriend sees and helps her out. He confessed to giving her the threatening note. And after she called the cops on the guy following her she finds out that was her father. Worse than that Jamee runs away.In the end. She finds Jamee with her father's help. She has a boyfriend and she has friends. It looks up for her.
What Darcy's father did to her is horrible. When someone close to you leaves you like that, it's pain in your heart that can't go away whether that person comes back or not. But that fact that her father actually came back means something. That fact that he apologized means something too. And the fact that he knew exactly where Jamee's favorite place in the mountains was after all those years means something. It means he still cares for them. And that he still though about them even after he left. She should forgive him because if she doesn't she'll regret for the rest of her life. But now the author wrote the ending foreshadows that she will forgive him.
These things happen everyday. But i think forgiveness is the right choice. I haven't personally have had anyone leave me in that way. But there are people who i should feel like they'll always be there for me. But I don't feel like they will be there. But if any of those people came to me and apologized and makes an effort I will forgive them. But that's different from Darcy's situation her own father left her 5 years. But he came back and made an effort. Which would be enough for me to forgive my father. Even if the pain he inflicted on the family will never got away. At least hes there now.
Imagine being followed by the same car repeatedly, but not knowing who it was. Then fining a threatening not on your desk at school. What would you do? This is what Darcy Wills went through in the story Lost and Found by Anne Schraff. Darcy noticed a man in a silver Honda seemed to be following her; scared Darcy called the police when the silver Honda was outside her apartment. Darcy was shocked when she found out who was stalking her, which left her not knowing who to turn to. Darcy told her sister Jamee, who already has troubles in school and going through a phase ever since her dad left the family 5 years ago. Telling their mom was no option she was always busy working. Jamee left she had to escape from everything, she made a decision that sacred her whole family. That left Darcy having to call somebody she did not want to and it all turns into a game of hide and seek. I recommend you to try reading this book.
Primarily I really enjoyed reading this book because it is very different then other books I haven’t read a book like this until now. It has many things going on at once it doesn't just stick with one event. It talks about everybody not just Darcy; everybody seems to be important in this book. Darcy seem to be the one telling the story but it had a lot of dialogue to really understand what was going on in the book. It also had feeling in it, you could see or feel how they felt and how it was affecting them.
Another reason I liked this book because it shows sort of a transformation in everybody. For a story that is not long it has a lot to tell. This book is like a house of mirrors not knowing where you are headed, each page keeps you wanting more. Each character surprises you in a way you don’t expect but that keeps the story good and the pages turning.
However some readers might not like this book because they might just be into a different genre of books like love ECT. This book is more or a drama/suspense book. I would still recommend this book for everybody, boys and girls, to try reading this book.
Finally, I really enjoyed reading books by this author. I will definitely and look forward to reading more from this author. I hope you try reading this book as well.
Have you ever read a realistic fiction book that grabbed your attention in every way? Well my story Lost and Found can do that for you.The genre of my book is realistic fiction. In my opinion I LOVED this book because its juicy and is filled with drama,Anne Scharff should make a movie about this book because its about an everyday struggle in high school and about an affect on how two girls Jamie and Darcy's father that aren't in their life's. The setting of my story is mainly at Buford high school. One of the major events of the story is when one of the main characters Darcy and her sisters Father leaves them for a second time and their mother dies and so there stuck living with their grandmother. There mother dies from an illness and she really didn't have anybody to care for besides her mother The Conflict is Person vs fate,I think its person vs faith because Darcy Wills and Jamie Wills face a lot of problems like like their mother dying and their father leaving and Jamie's boyfriend cheating on her.The theme of the story is Mystery because their trying to find where their father went and why Jamie's boyfriend cheated on her with her best friend.*****SPOILER ALERT****Darcy and Jamie's dad comes back into there life for the third time. There's one point where Darcy gets bullied and Jamie can really can't do do anything about because if she attempts to help here sister than she gone get bullied to so the only thing they can do is tell an trusted adult,'HELPPP ME SOMEONE KEEPS SENDING THREATENING LETTERS TO ME AND MY FAMILY MS.COOPER HELP ME PLEASE'. The reason i choose that quote was because i felt it best fits the setting of the book book and keeps you wondering why or who is sending Darcy these threaten letters, and another quote is 'why did you have to cheat on me with my own best friend,Hakeem'. In my conclusion this is my take on the book lost and found by Anne Scharff,I hope you enjoyed hanks for reading goodbye.<3
I enjoyed reading this book. It had a good base to tell the story. It is a relatable book and is an easy book to follow along with.
Plot: In this book, the main characters, Darcy and Jamee are having a hard time getting along in day to day life. Their dad had left them five years ago and has put a lot of stress and grief on the family. With their grandmother getting in worse and worse shape, the family struggles to all be on the same page. After hearing news that her father is back in town, Jammee goes missing for a couple of days. The whole family freaks out and goes on a search and rescue mission to find her.
Setting: The setting takes place mostly at Bluford High and at Darcy’s house. It took place in the past, because of the way they talked and the tense of the words used. The setting had to take place at Bluford High, because that is Where Darcy got matched up with Tarah to do the project.
Characterisation: Grandmother was a sweet old lady who had dementia. She would dream everyday about the things that they used to do as a family.Mom was Darcy and Jamee’s mother who worked as a nurse in the local E.R. Darcy was her mother’s oldest daughter who had a lot to deal with on a day to day basis. Jammee was the youngest daughter and Darcy’s sister.
Thematic connection: The basic theme of this book is to always give another chance. Darcy was unsure of what to think when her father started hanging around again. She tried to push him out of her life, but in a time of need, they all worked together to find Jamee.
Who and Why: I would recommend this book to anyone male or female up to the high school level. Being easy to follow along and understand, it is a good book to read.
In the book, “Lost and Found” Anne Schraff focused deeply on emotions and feelings to get readers more attached and hooked onto the book. This book is about Darcy Wills, who is a former student at Bluford High School. She doesn’t know where to turn for help. Then, there was a threat left on her desk, and her sister has disappeared. Darcy has to take action to help her sister and family before it’s too late and more bad things happen. In the beginning, Darcy is lonely and gets bullied on page 12&13, the author uses feelings/emotions; to show how Darcy’s life is getting more challenging and hard for her. She wants help, but she seems to not want to ASK for help, she feels like shes crying for help, but nobody notices. Later on, Darcy and Jamee gets into an argument on page 25. The author uses character development; to show how Jamee’s and Darcy’s relationship with each other. Basically Jamee cares about who Darcy hangs out with because she doesn't want Darcy to end up in a bad position. So far, I read that the story is about Darcy Wills, who is a girl having struggles with family and schools struggles. She gets into a hard situation to where her sister gets missing and she’s trying her best to find her and get her sister back. Few days back, she received this threat note that was left on her desk. Her family is really fragile and no one seems to get it, Darcy is into a desperate race against time, Darcy must take action to save her sister before it’s too late.
This book is about this girl named Jamie. Jamie is Darcy's little sister, from the time Jamie went up to the 8th grade she started hanging out with this group from Bluford high. Darcy is worried about her little sister because the people that she is hanging out with are no good and she has this new boyfriend his name is Bobby. Darcy heard a lot about bobby things like his been getting low grades and his been using drugs so now darcy has to find out what is happening in this new group and why Jamie's acting so strange. I think is because she hasn't seen her father for 5 years and she is a little bit alone is like no one cares about her it's like no one understands her so there was only one thing she had to do was run away from home.
At school Darcey had bigger problems, she has to team up with someone she thought was at the low level and she found out from her project partner that no one likes her, she only has one real friend and people were talking about her behind her back. She doesn't know what to do now she has to find a way for her to fix this problem by making new friends. But only one question remains "What is Darcey going to do?"
In this case, i would not change my life to be more like the world of the story because them live in an environment full with problems, fighting, disunity, dishonesty, violence, lack of parental care to their children by overwork, among others. My life is very different; although I live in a society full of violence and problems, my family is very united, when there are problems we dialogue to resolve them and is full of love.
Question 6
I identify with the character of Darcy because she is a very intelligent and lovely girl. She always pays attention to her family and tries to help them to solve their problems, gives them her love, encourages them and it is a girl of good feelings. It is also very good student and wants to be better every day. The only thing that I don't identify with Darcy, is that she is a very lonely and she doesn't have friends; unlike her I am a very sociable person and I love to be surrounded by people.
What I learned in this book is Darcy Wills has a man stocking her and she does not know what to do. Then she finds a shocking and threatening note left on her desk at Bluford High School. Then when she finds out someone is stocking her and see's the mysterious threatening note, her sister turns up missing. She really relizes that she is in big trouble and scared for her life. She see's that she has to save her sister and fragile family before its too late. In the beginning of my book Darcy Wills was being stocked and didnt know what to do she wanted to go and tell someone but couldnt because she was scared that her stocker would do something diffrent. Then she went into Blouford High School and was scared out of her life because there was a treatening note left on her desk before she could even run and tell someone she didnt have the chance to because the threating note. Then when she wanted to run and tell her sister her sister became missing, then Darcy Wills really didnt know what to do.
I had to read this book with the rest of my class a little while ago. At first the book was boring...and then it got good...but then it got boring again so yeah. The book is about a girl and she lives with her mom, grand mom, and little sister. Her dad left when they were...i wouldnt say a young age but around 6 or 7 i think but anyways i digress. Then her father begins to stalk her. Her little sister is all upset all of the time because she lost her boyfriend whom she claimed "loved her". Then her father gets told to stay away from the girl and the rest of her family because the girl didnt know that the stalker man was her father so she called to cops on the mysterious man. Then the girls little sister runs away and the girl, her dad, and boyfriend go looking for her and find her need this tree that both of the sisters dad used to take them to before he left them and they find the girls little sister and uhh.....thats the end. I dont really like this book because its not all that interesting....actually its quite boring for the exception of a few parts. Thats it.
