Caleb Chamberlain has spent the last five years recovering from a horrible breakup, his alcoholism that stemmed from it, and the car accident that left him hospitalized. He's finally on the right track in his life, and he's found peace with being a cowboy at Horseshoe Home Ranch for the rest of his life. Until Holly Gray, his twin brother's ex-fiance mistakes him for Nathan. Caleb wasn't around much when Nathan and Holly were an item, and it takes him a few minutes to figure out who she is, but definitely not that long to want to get to know her better. Holly's back in Gold Valley to get the required veterinarian hours to apply for her graduate program. When the herd at Horseshoe Home comes down with pneumonia, Caleb and Holly are forced to work together in close quarters. After checking with his brother, Caleb decides he wants to start something with Holly, despite her plans to leave town in eight months. Holly's over Nathan, but she hasn't forgiven him-or the woman she believes broke up their relationship. As she and Caleb get to know one another better, she'll have to figure out if she's really in love with Caleb-or the memory of Nathan-and how to forgive everyone she hasn't. Can Caleb and Holly navigate such a rough past to find their happily-ever-after?

Caleb was an impressive guy. He has fought his way back to sobriety and a steady, hard working life. Once Caleb decides he's in, he's in. I loved that. It's like this is his second chance at life and he knows what he wants.
Holly wasn't my favorite character but she had some redeeming qualities. She was braver than I think I would be in the face of a church and town filled with people who are against her.
There were some good moments between Caleb an Holly and while this isn't my favorite book by Liz Isaacson, it was enjoyable. It was easy to settle into and gave me that shot of Happily Ever After that I'm always looking for. Like an addict. Ha.

Caleb Chamberlain has had many struggles since his breakup with his last girlfriend five years ago. He has maintained his sobriety after falling headlong into alcoholism and has mostly recovered from a devastating accident years ago while driving drunk. He knows he's been given a second chance but still struggles to regain his self-confidence and self-worth seeing himself as "less than" when compared to his uber successful twin brother. When Holly Gray returns to Gold Valley, Caleb has hope that maybe he also will have a second chance at love. Ironically, Holly is his twin brother's ex-fiance. She's returned to Gold Valley to complete an internship at Horseshoe Home Ranch so that she can apply for veterinarian school. However, before a romance can fully take root for Caleb and Holly, both must face past failures and personal struggles if their romance is to be a success.
While I liked the idea of a romance between Caleb and Holly, there were just too many things about this story that turned me off. First, I didn't care for Holly or Caleb's character. Holly's character, to me, almost did seem crazy and paranoid- which was an accusation made by Nathan that she was supposedly trying to overcome and prove wrong. Caleb also seemed a little desperate to me- for example, I very seriously doubt that his reaction to Holly's return after she basically abandoned him to run off to grad school would have been what was portrayed. Second, the romance between Caleb and Holly seemed very unlikely, Yes, they had physical chemistry rather quickly and spent a lot of time kissing, but that actually could have been attributed to Holly's remaining feelings (and attraction) to Nathan and she just used Caleb as a substitute. I think more effort should have been taken to show that Holly was, indeed, over Nathan with more development of an actual relationship between Holly and Caleb. Lastly, I was rather put off by Holly's rather dramatic reaction to the "mean girls" words at the church- she basically ran off and abandoned Caleb and wouldn't even talk to him, then just showed up expecting everything to pick up as normal months later. Had potential, but ended up being disappointed, unfortunately.

Caleb Chamberlain finally has his life back on track. After a horrible break-up that he tried to deal with by drinking his pain away and an accident that nearly killed him, Caleb has settled in as a cowboy at Horseshoe Home. He’s worked his way up to second in command and has no desire for more than that. He’s not looking for a new relationship until Holly Gray throws herself into his arms at the grocery store, mistaking him for his twin, Nathan. Holly Gray can’t believe she’s back in Gold Valley and she really can’t believe that the first person she sees is her former fiancé, Nathan Chamberlain. As soon as she hugs him, though, she realizes her mistake. Even though the man hugs her back, she knows it can’t be Nathan. He married someone else less than a year after they broke up and has a new baby son. Too embarrassed to correct herself, she leaves half hoping that she won’t run into Caleb Chamberlain again while she’s in town. Unfortunately, Gold Valley is pretty small. As a vet tech, she needs a certain number of hours so she can apply for her graduate studies. Horseshoe Home’s sick cattle will keep her busy but what happens when the boss assigns Caleb to help her? Caleb has always felt second-best to his twin. Nathan was a better athlete, better student, better almost everything. Can he make Holly see that he is the better man for her? I loved so many things about this story. Every time Caleb passed his accident site, he thanked God for sparing him. Even when he was distracted by something else going on in the vehicle, he still gave thanks. His food concoctions were, at times, stomach turning but some of them sounded really good. (I kind of wished the author had shared the chicken cordon bleu casserole recipe!) He had an inner strength that shone through all of his interactions. Holly, too, had a lot of great qualities but the trait that most got in the way with Caleb was her lack of forgiveness for his brother. Can Caleb’s steadfastness win her over? If you’re a fan of romance novellas, read Isaacson’s Gold Valley series. These are all sweet romances with plenty of angst to move the action along.
Over the Moon is book 5 in the Gold Valley series by Liz Isaacson and what a way to continue.
Caleb Chamberlain, (identical twin with Nathan) broke up with his girlfriend a number of years ago and was drowning his sorrows in the bottom of a bottle until he was involved in an accident that almost took his life but with the help of his friends and Horseshoe Home ranch this cowboy worked his way up to second in command and loves every minute of it. Deciding he is done with the ladies for good and is not looking for any relationships ever again, on this particular day he goes to town with his buddy to do shopping for the ranch and Holly Gray throws herself at him thinking he is his identical twin brother Nathan. Caleb has always felt like nobody ever saw him and always compared him to his twin but after seeing Holly is wants her to see him and be attracted to the man he is….not his brother.
Holly Gray is back in Gold Valley to help at Horseshoe Home ranch as a vet tech in order to get her hours in before she can apply for graduate school. After she mistakes Caleb for Nathan her old boyfriend (who has since married and has a baby) she hopes to avoid seeing Caleb again. Little does she know that he works at the ranch and she has been assigned to work with Caleb to figure out what is wrong with the sick cattle?
Can these two find a way to work together to find a cure for the sick cattle, let their attraction grow and bloom and find a way to their HEA???
Lots of banter between them, some insecurity, not letting go of the past to build on the future, but overall was a good read.
Caleb Chamberlain devotes himself to his job as a cowboy on Horseshoe Home Ranch, especially after the downward spiral his life was in 5 years ago that left him hung over and in the hospital. Determined to stay on the right path, he does whatever necessary to avoid a repeat.
Holly Gray left Gold Valley five years ago after her fiance, Nathan Chamberlain, broke off their engagement. Now, she's back to complete the necessary volunteer hours for her veterinarian graduate program at Horseshoe Home Ranch.
When she sees Caleb, she mistakes him for Nathan. And Caleb takes a moment to remember that she was once engaged to his brother, but he doesn't remember what happened to them. All he knows is that he's interested in her.
Holly may be over Nathan, but has she forgiven him? Or the woman he married? Can she see Caleb for himself? Or is he simply a rebound from his brother? And, in the end, can she believe in herself long enough to love Caleb?
This is a story about forgiveness, self confidence, and moving forward in life after disappointments. And, although I love the themes since they are so important for all of us to learn, I think Holly was still struggling with forgiveness even towards the end of the book. She really confused me with her running away which gave credibility to Nathan calling her crazy. I also felt Caleb needed more self confidence and goals in life. He seemed content to simply stay where he was for the rest of his life. Also, he came across as a bit desperate. In the end, I liked the story, but I felt it lacked in character development to really win me over completely.

"Over the Moon" was a trying tale about the romance between Caleb and Holly. This relationship is doomed from the start due to the fact that Holly was once engaged to Caleb's brother- his twin brother! How could a relationship work with something like this hanging over there heads? Will Caleb find love and know it was for real? Can Holly move past the brother she could have?
Parents getting involved, friends choosing sides, gossips starting drama; with issues like these God has His work cut out for Him when it comes to mending the hearts of these two individuals. Through a relationship with Him, anything is possible- faith is all that is needed.
I would just like to say that there are over 6 books in this series (so far), and I am not normally a fan of series that run this long (unless they really hold your attention); however, Mrs. Isaacson grabs your attention with the multiple characters throughout the many novels and manages to keep them all tied together without having to repeat herself a multitude of times throughout each story. Wonderful job, if you enjoy one, you will enjoy all of them.
I loved this beautiful story! Holly runs into the identical twin of her ex-fiancee, and she can't believe she's actually flirting with him. After all, his brother cheated on her and made everyone think she was crazy. Caleb is the twin that is the total opposite of his brother. His brother was a player, outgoing and social. Caleb is a cowboy, content to live his life on the ranch, doing the same things day after day. He wasn't interested in playing the field and going to far off places. When Holly comes to the ranch as a resident vet, she only plans to stay for a few months. She definitely doesn't plan on starting a long term relationship. But when Caleb smiles at her, and cooks for her and seems to bring happiness whenever he's around, she might be changing her mind-- even though her family and his family think they are crazy for even trying. I enjoyed this book and highly recommend it!
Saddle up for a wildly emotional ride. This book covers the spectrum from laughing delight to abject heat break. In fact, it just about broke my heart. I just wanted to cuddle Caleb close and love him to bits and pieces. His insecurities and vulnerability cut me to the core. In spite of having traveled some of the same road as Holly, I didn't connect with her as deeply as I did Caleb. I'm very familiar with being told "you're crazy" while your partner conducts an affair under your nose. After a while you start to believe that you really are seeing things that aren't there even when they are. I can also easily relate to Caleb's desire to be the quiet homebody. And I'm sure we can all relate to his pain at being the one who's always overlooked. I really enjoyed watching them grow in their trust in one another and their faith. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book.
Not so much a second chance romance, but a second chance with the same family romance! Holly bumps into Caleb in a store and greets him excitedly, thinking that he is her ex fiance, Caleb's twin brother Nathan. By happy coincidence they end up working together and romance follows. This book deals with the topics of former alcoholism with Caleb, and the paranoia and pain of being cheated on Holly's part. Both characters are slightly damaged and a little cautious of each other. Holly does seem a little flakey at times. Warning, as with other books by Liz Isaacson a lot of food is mentioned, in this case Caleb is an excellent cook. Do not read whilst hungry or on a diet!! Again another sweet romance between two people who need each other to move on completely with their lives.
OVER THE MOON by Liz Isaacson, Elena Johnson. Gold Valley Romance book 5 Ty comes back to ranch and notice Pompeii was being riden. Holding reins too tight got her thrown right into Ty. Saying she had riden before and wanted to try, before the lesson. Looking he knew she was River, who never rode a horse by herself, only as a double. Her new employment has her working with a group of girls, for 12 weeks, learning to ride along with them. Ty mentions they have a quick turn over of countselors. A short story and looking for more about Ty and River. All of Liz stories are good, about family, love, and taking a chance. Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.
I smiled, I laughed, I teared up and I got angry with this story. It is happy and it is sad. It is cute, sappy and wonderful. It’s everything to make up a wonderful love story and enjoy every minute of it. Along the way, it sort of felt spiritual as I knew I had felt like Holly so many times when I said, “God help me” throughout my lifetime. Just today, I read a Psalm that left me thinking about this book. Just as Caleb is “Over the Moon” about Holly, I’m so very glad I read this book. It can be enjoyed by anyone and I hope fans of this author take the time to really enjoy this storyline. It’s grand!
Liz Isaacson really knows how to write honest, real-life romance. Having a romance between the hero and his brother's ex can be really tricky, even more so when it involves twins. This author handled the situation beautifully, showing enough character growth to make it work. Caleb is everything you want your cowboy book boyfriend to be, and he sticks by Holly's side throughout all the drama. Ms. Isaacson masterfully created a setting for this book series that feels like a second home. I highly recommend this book, as well as the previous books in the series. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Holly comes back after being gone a few years. She was engaged to Nate and broke up right before she left. When she comes back she rans into Caleb, Nate twin brother. Set on a ranch, she is the vet on the ranch and Caleb works there. Will they be able to get past the things that happened in the past? Even though part of a series it can be read as a stand alone book. I was able to connect to the characters and would definitely recommend the book. I was given an opportunity to read an advanced copy of the book.
Caleb knows exactly what he wants to do with his life, work at the ranch. He is the foreman's right hand and is happy with his place. His personal life leaves much to be desired but he is picking up the pieces and has been sober for four years now. Running into Holly, his brother's ex-fiance, is a pleasant surprise. But only he and Holly are happy with the reunion. Holly thinks she knows what she wants to do but meeting Caleb has her questioning her decision. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
Over The Moon is the story of Caleb, the second on command at Horseshoe Home Ranch, and Holly the vet intern.
Holly was engaged to Caleb's twin, Nathan, and it ended badly some years ago. She hasn't really dated since then and still hasn't forgiven him. Caleb being a twin confuses her as to her feelings for him.
Caleb has always lived in Nathan's shadow and the fact that his last girlfriend walked off from him has only complicated his insecurities.
Leaning to wait, listen and trust God runs throughout this book. Liz again brings it home.
This was a most unusual story. I loved both of the main characters. They both had issues that caused them to shy away from relationships. Holly is a beautiful young woman studying to be a vet and seems very competent but the girl can't boil water. Caleb is the under achieving half of identical twins but he is content. He does have some strange eating habits. The deck is stacked against them and their own uncertainties cause them problems but just read the book. You'll love it!
In this book of the series, Caleb has trust issues after a bad breakup which caused him to go on a drinking binge and after crashing his car, he is severely injured leaving him with a permanent limp. Holly is also recovering from a bad breakup, with Calebs twin brother. As they work on trusting each other there are many emotional issues that have to be dealt with. Family on both sides also plays a part. I recommend to all who like a good clean country/western read.
Caleb and Holly find each other in this sweet romance. Holly's heart was broken by Caleb's twin brother and she ran away to try to pick up the pieces. Caleb is content working the ranch but Holly is just there to get you enough intern hours to apply to her graduate program across the country. As their relationship grows, they are tested by their families and friends. Caleb and Holly find their HEA through their love for one another and their faith in God. Liz Isaacson has a way of developing characters that just pulls me in and makes me feel like I know the people in the story. She is a wonderful author and I can't wait for the next one!
I received an ARC of this book and have voluntarily provided an honest review.
"I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book"
Another amazing sweet romance from Liz Isaacson. I love that she takes everyday very real issues and turns them into beautiful stories of love and faith. Caleb and Holly’s story was different in that Holly’s broken heart had been caused by Caleb’s twin which brought into play a lot of family dynamics. Liz always handles these stories in with love and compassion. Can't wait to read Ty’s story.
Over the Moon is the fifth book in the Gold Valley Romance series. This book is about Holly and how she had loved and lost. Lost trust in people, lost trust in love and lost her trust in her faith. After her fiancé breaks her heart, she attempts a fresh start and is surprised how things unfold. Caleb has his own baggage, but can they overcome their obstacles and find happiness? I really enjoyed this book, and definitely recommend it.
I read thru chapter 6 and quit. These books are getting boring. They have the same basic plot, even many of the same descriptions. The only things different are the characters names and the setting. I found that often the character and the event can be confusing--they don't connect. I have always enjoyed Ms. Isaacson's books, but this series just did not cut it. There is nothing new or fresh in it.
I received a free copy and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Falling in love with your twin brother's ex? How do you get her family and your family to accept the fact that you love each other and you are not anything like your twin brother? This is very inspiring as you watch them both leaning on their faith to move past the hurts of the past and look to the future with each other and working to do whatever it takes to get there.
Another great Gold Valley Ranch story with some previous characters making an appearance. A chance at love for two disappointed and hurt people who take too long to say "I love you" and almost ruin a good thing. But with time and forgiveness all things work for God's will. I received an advance copy with no obligation.
Holly returns to Gold Valley as a vet technician on The ranch. She was engaged and fled after the breakup. She bumps into Caleb but assumes he is his twin, her ex. Caleb and Holly work closely together at the ranch and being a relationship. Can they over come all the animosity their relationship brings to their families?
A case of mis-identification leads to an enjoyable read about believing in someone even though you know you might only see them for a short while. A story of learning to trust and love and continues the wonderful series set in Gold Valley.
I received a copy of the book from the author and voluntarily reviewed it.
I really enjoyed Caleb and Holly's story. I loved Caleb's strength in his feelings for Holly. His food choices were over the top. There was love, forgiveness and healing in this story. I felt bad for Holly while praying and not receiving an answer from God. It was great how she found the answers she was looking for and the forgiveness she needed for Nathan and Mel.
This was another enjoyable read by Liz Isaacson, I believe her best book so far. The faster pace, a bit more story depth and the story itself created a more intense reading experience. A story of second chances and the ability to work through issues to gain happiness. Would recommend this book along with the whole series.
Holly should have never dated Nathan, what a jerk. Caleb is definitely the better man and the perfect one for Holly. I love how both Holly and Caleb grew individually and as a couple. Forgiveness played a major role in this book as well as their faith in the Lord. I didn't like how Nathan and his wife never apologized to anyone and in my opinion had the most to apologize for.
