Awesome.. Need more.

When I started this series I never realised the impact it would have on me. I honestly read the first one because of my prime membership where you get a free book a month. It sounded good. What I didn't know was how good.

I love the paranormal. I love vampires and werewolves. There are no sex scenes. There is however lots and lots of action. The swearing is to die for. The characters are very realistic. It won't be the best book you've ever read but the storyline is out of this world literally.

This book deals with David one of Michael's children. He is a serious douche bag. He has no remorse killing and using humans as cattle. He wants to enslave the humans and rule the world according to him.

BA and the TBQ's are out to save the planet. They have just leased an old air force base in Colorado. BA has a third voice in her head. Takes arguing with yourself to a whole new level.

As I said, this isn't the best literature you'll ever read. But it's one of the best stories I've ever read. It keeps you hooked and coming back for more. Extra nice they are all on Kindle unlimited. Enjoy!

The most exciting, action-packed book so far. Had a great battle between the good vamps and weres against the zombie like vamps. Really a fun read. Still easy to recommend this series to paranormal and sci-fi fans.

These books can’t come fast enough to Audible for me. They are truly fantastic. I absolutely love Bethany Anne. Between her kick-assness and her serious potty mouth she’s just awesome. She puts the funniest and craziest swear words together.

One reviewer on Amazon, or was it two? Anyway, they mentioned they didn’t understand why Michael Anderle wrote these books in a matter of weeks? Really? If I could put out books that fast that were selling 1000 books or more each I would certainly be writing them that fast. AND I would be so proud of myself for being able to do that. Jeez, most authors can only put out a book a year. Several a year is incredible, IMO. This book was published one month before the next one and the next one has 501 pages, so it’s not like he’s writing short stories. He’s a very talented author.

And, every book is just as excited as the last one. The battles with the Nosferatu, zombie-like creatures, are always so incredible…and bloody. And this time instead of waiting for the three hundred Nosferatu to come after them a very pissed off Bethany Anne attacked them. It was one great battle. And her anger at David is really growing, since he planned this trap with the creatures. She really wants David dead, as does Michael and Stephen.

I do love the conversations Bethany Anne has with TOM (Thales Of Miltus), the alien computer in her head and now, at the end of this book, there’s another surprise for her. It was just awesome.

Even though these aren’t really cliffhangers I can tell you that you can’t just pick a book somewhere in the middle and read it and expect to know who anyone is. There are a lot of wonderful characters in these books and they enter in the first, second, third or whatever book, and are still in this book.

There’s no sex in these books. The F-bomb is used 75 times, along with other awesome swearwords.

As to the narration: Emily Beresford is doing a phenomenal job. I mean, you’d expect her female voices to be good but her male voices are incredible. If the book didn’t say “Lance said” or “Bobcat said” or “John said” you’d already know who said it without being told because the voice is so identifiable. And their voices remain the same in each and every book.

AMAZING SERIES! LOVE IT! SUPERB NARRATION BY EMILY BERESFORD!

Wow this series is absolutely amazing, fun, fast paced and exciting. If you haven't started it, just do it.

So much action, dialogue, fantastic characters and story lines. This series has sucked me in and can't wait for the next one. I know they are coming out as fast as possible which is a bonus! No waiting a year for the next book like some series.

Michael Anderle has built a fascinating world here. I just love everything that keeps going on and progressing. The great thing too is he doesn't leave them as cliffhangers. They end and you can move forward or you can just stop. I don't recommend stopping at all!

I absolutely love listening to the narrators notes and the authors notes at the end of each book. Such a treat to actually hear their thoughts and appreciate that they take the time to do it.

As for the narration, it is wonderful! Emily Beresford does such a fantastic job bringing these characters to life! Everyone gets their own distinct voice and she read with emotion.
Thank you @emily_beresford

Hmm, so I may have been to hard on these books/series. I found out that these books are more of a serial and are written in less than 30 days. So for starts I usually hate serials so with that said I don't hate this book/series so that is a good start. For books that are written in less than 30 days these are pretty good. I still having problems rating them more than 3 stars but I will have to go back and update my other reviews.

update
Okay so now that I found out these books are really a serial and written in less than 30 days I will have to bump them up by one full star, even tho I am not really into serial type books.

The problem with writing a review for this book, or the other previous books, is that one gives so much away by even mentioning a name. These books now have a few more subplots - some I care about others I don't. I do have a new favorite character, Gabriella. Ok, Gabriella and Bethany Ann and Stephen. Also, normally I wouldn't be so interested in characters who seem so omnipotent, but here I am.

I am continuing to think the book has too many characters, but oh well, I am racing off to get obtain #7 and get my fix.

I really enjoying these books, getting more sci-fi than what I would call fantasy even though vampires and werewolves are involved. Still a fun quick read, fast moving, lots of action.

By this point I was well convinced Bethany Ann's friends were going to be made into token hanger-ons -she really never needed body guards, much less humans- but this book is largely about her company and her friends and family moving forward.

decent if not inspired writing

It’s a fun series, it even has a few scenes that may bring a tear to the eye. The main negative is that it’s too formulaic.

I’ve mentioned in a previous review that it reads as an episode for a TV show, it still does. Though it could also be used to create a story arc for a graphic novel/comic book. Actually that might even be better as the graphics for that style would work better for the red eye and fang imagery as well as the Were’s conversions to wolf or the human-wolf hybrid form. That sort of CGI for a TV series could tank their entire budget.

I would probably classify this series as more of an adventure or action series, with a military lean to it. The sci-fi and fantasy aspects are there but only in a cursory way. The author uses humour throughout but not overly so, just enough to help lighten some of the heavier scenes, as it does deal with lots of death, destruction and killing. A good example is the inclusion of Darlene and Doreen, the sisters who were care-taking the children in Turkey. The comments to Big John Grimes were quite funny, not to mention the later mention in an article where they got in trouble for pinching a nice ass or two, but promised to be good girls after. I hope the author brings them back in the future, there is something fun about the two and their back story could be very interesting.

These are quick read novels for the series, and at least are free using Kindle Unlimited. These entries would not be worth shelling out book level money for, but for freebies, they aren’t a bad read. Short, quick and fast, if a bit more sophomoric writing. These aren’t going to be up there with novels from Herbert, Heinlein, Asimov or Goodkind, but they are fun to read at least. I wonder if the author took his time and really developed several of these into one better written novel if it wouldn’t make for a better story though. That might be something I would consider purchasing at the insanely high prices book publishers charge.

I can't stop!

Cheesy speeches, pretentious vampires and slightly ditzy females. Ugh! Why do I keep reading this series? I want to know what Bethany Anne plans to do to continue her quest to save the world, by way of eradicating bad vampires.

I've been wondering what it was that bugged me most about these books. The scenes with women expressing their feelings of problems are too brief compared to the vast amount of computer science discussions and chest bumping bravado of the military and Were males. All relationship problems involving women do not end with tears, hugs, a marriage proposal, chocolate, shoes or going shopping!

Whatever happened with that bombshell a couple books back, that Bethany Anne could still have a menstrual cycle? For those of us with them, it is no small part of our lives during our reproductive years. It's not something that only affects us once every few years.

I feel like these books could have been divided into two different series. One dealing with the supernatural and another being strictly sci fi.

All of that negative stuff aside, I'm giving you five stars for a compelling story with a ton of research and effort. Your output speed is impressive. I really enjoy your candid notes at the end of each book. Oh, and the swearing is so hysterical and creative that I'll be passing these books along to my older teenage sons.

I'd like to hear more about Ashur, since we know he's not just a dog anymore. I'm enjoying your books the way I enjoyed Claire Farrell's all encompassing supernatural world of Ava Delaney. I'll be moving on to the next book now.

"May Hell have pity on you should you find yourself on the wrong side of any of the Queen’s Own." -Michael Anderle (Under My Heel)

The way Mr. Anderle gives you just a bite of what is to come. That proverbial paragraph at the end of a very significant chapter, where you see for a minute what they will become. That little gem has become something I crave. Like how the Queen's Guard will one day be known as the Queen's Own.

It floored me at how much happened in this book. The Wechselbalg experienced changes in their power in the form of Pete and Nathan and their new trick that blew my mind. The sheer mass of them amazed me, and excited me. Do you know how long it has been since I have read the description of a very traditional half man half beast werewolf? I didnt realize how much I missed it until I read the first transformation!

Michael you better be careful it looks to me that Tabitha is gonna give you a run for your money. I love her spunk and can't wait to learn more about her.

Congratulations Lance and Patricia. Let's just say that was completely unexpected. Like..absolutely completely, I didn't even know how to react....except to say I flippin cried. Lolol

David, David, David...You sir are an idiot and are stupidly underestimating your opponents. I really loathe that man, not because he is evil or the antagonist...I just loathe him. His personality, his arrogance...there is so much about him as a character that I loathe..lolol Plus why is it always a hatred for Americans? 🤔

Mr. Anderle you did it again! You completely reached through the book and knocked my tush off my chair. My mind was completely blown when ADAM decided to make himself known!! Omg I squealed, the Queen has two hitch hikers and I am absolutely in love with this new direction the story can go! I can not wait to learn more about ADAM and also to see what will happen next on this quest for the safety of the Earth!!!

4 Until Death Takes Our Souls Stars

Under My Heel is the sixth book in The Kurtherian Gambit series by Michael Anderle.

That’s David does not die in this book, is it’s biggest negative. But they got close and they killed all that he had prepared to trap them. It saddens me that (even in this imaginary world) two separate large scale terrorist-style attacks took place. At this point I’m wondering if we are only steps away from Bethany Anne informing the entire world, and their many government institutions, that she is the new world order and they will follow her or die. You know with added facet that her primary goal is the survival of their entire planet and that she will not suffer their political agendas and selfish power grabs.

ADAM is online folks. And as we find out at the end of this installment, in a decidedly more fascinating and troubling way than initially anticipated. How they will transfer him back to actual machinery is anyone’s guess.

I can’t wait to experience the smack down Bethany Anne will deliver to the Were Council traitors. It will probably be bloodier than to that of the more human of David’s ignorant puppets.

Ecaterina wanted to be more powerful and capable, hopefully she survives the process that will make her a superior version of herself.

Back to amazing!

Aside from two rather heinous errors; the first being that Gabrielle's name was spelled three different ways in one paragraph (which I blame on software) and the second being that a vampire as old as Stephen would not speak using modern vernacular, especially in the heat of battle (dangling participles) this was definitely a five star read.
So much was accomplished, so much was outlined for future novels, so many characters had huge accomplishments (At least for them) that this book brought me completely into their world. I laughed out loud at certain parts and i was generally concerned at others.
Have you ever noticed that whenever you see a Paul in a book or film, he's usually either a douche or he dies rather quickly? I'm a Paul and i notice it constantly. Just an observation.
Congratulations Mr Anderle on another great read!
If you ever need specifics on police or corrections, feel free to contact me. I've got over twenty years in with both. I don't offer my services lightly, but I'm a fan and would hate to see a scene derailed by something that can be fixed easily.

That should be 4 1/2 stars...OK, 4 3/4

In the last 3 days, I have read the first 6 books in this series. I am a voracious reader, so I will definitely be chewing my way thru the rest of the series, and chasing it with a tall Dr Pepper...no ice. No petrified H2O here.
Actually, my first introduction to this series was the short story "You Do Not Mess With John's Cousin". I'm not sure why it took me so long to get started on the rest of the series....but better late than never.
What do I like best...
I like that there are PEOPLE! Not just characters.
I like that sometimes the people have the same names. It happens in real life, why NOT in a book?
I LOVED the "Billings, meet Billings" scene
The only reason I didn't go for a full 5 stars? It wasn't for the cussin'....I grew up with 'worse'. Certainly what I heard every day was less original!
No, I just felt I should leave some room for growth....
Looking forward to whatever comes next!I

David is causing Bethany Anne a whole lot of trouble. Not only has he taken over a whole town in the backs of beyond, in Syria, but he has also taken hostage a group of children, and if there's anything that Bethany Anne would kill for, it's to protect the innocent.

So, with her group of friends with her, they go to the rescue.

This story didn't pause for a minute where action is concerned. Not only has Bethany Anne gone to rescue and protect those who need it, but she's still busy getting her core team together, and that's taking some serious organising.

With everything going on, though, her father, General Lance Reynolds, decides to use the opportunity of taking over his old base, to do something that was years in the making.

I'm so loving this series, and each book helps the plot, and the characters, go from strength to strength. I'm loving these stories so much, that I've spent 6 months' worth of my budget to buy books, in getting every single book that I can, that's part of the Kurtherian Universe - and even some that aren't - and I don't begrudge a penny of it! Lol

I was a bit worried about the “Europe is erupting is tension and violence.” statement in the book blurb. It almost sounded like the story was going to turn into some kind of apocalypse story.

Luckily the book blurb was a bit exaggerated. The events were more or less just another terrorist attack. Apparently a rather bloody one but still. Not exactly “Europe erupting in violence”. To me that was a good thing. I am not too fond of apocalypse stories.

Bethany Anne as well as her bitches continues to kick ass. All of them are working towards Bethany’s modest goal of saving the world. In the process they are of course slaying Nosferatu’s and bad guys with great enthusiasm and a healthy dose of innovative politically incorrect language.

At the same time they are working on expanding their understanding and inventory of alien technology. It is almost as fun to read these parts as it is reading about Bethany Anne’s ass-kicking, although it is not exactly hard core science fiction. Actually it is more fiction and less science.

In contrast to the fast paced action the main story arc is moving forward in a more leisurely pace. It is just the right pace for me though. Bethany Anne and her people are evolving, the plot is evolving, the save the world part of the story is evolving etc…

I really do not want to go into details out of fear of spoiling things too much but one of Bethany Anne’s projects for technology development interacts with Bethany herself in a slightly unexpected way. This gives the author the opportunity to drop somewhat of a Tsar Bomba, at least for Bethany Anne, at the end of the book. Luckily the next books are already published otherwise I would have called it cruelty towards the readers.

Bottom line, great book and as enjoyable as the other ones in the series have been.

Loved it!!!

I know I am repeating myself but these books still keep getting better and better. I am in love with these books. The stories are sharp, the writing is amazing and the characters are a dream come true. I think these are the best books I have read in a long, long time and that's saying something, since I read about 500 books a year. Each one comes up with better "toys" and the stories, even though they are a series, are as fresh as if they were just the first book. When you are reading a series, for me at least, it becomes harder to get into them after the third or fourth book. But, these are just as exciting and new as the first one. I'm getting ready to read the seventh book and I can't wait to get lost in it. You will not go wrong in reading these. Great job, author. You have my heartfelt thanks for taking the time and effort to write them.

Awesome!

I know I keep telling you how much I am loving this story…so I won’t bother saying the actual words this time. Just know I am!
I love how much Stephen has changed, how he has grown into someone to be trusted to do what needs to be done while protecting those in his charge as much as he can.
The changes in Michael’s attitude are refreshing. And I’m happy to see he is starting to appreciate all that Bethany Anne has done and continues to do-without being an asshat.
TOM sounds like he has listened to way too much junk tv (lol) but I like how he is becoming more humanized. Now that ADAM has surfaced I have to wonder how it will assist in moving Bethany Anne’s goals along.
I am waiting to see David meet his demise, can’t happen fast enough for me. I just hope it is a long, drug out process! He deserves it.

Another excellent story

These books are so fun to read! Though, there were some tearful points in this one (at least once when I was really happy for one of the supporting characters).

I enjoy the location changes, where we catch up with other characters. I had to get used to the changes in the earliest books and now I love them! Even if the switch is not to an action scene, the switch alone feels as if action occurred with the change in location and oftentimes character point of view.

Looking forward to reading book 7! Have to get to work now though. Thank God I love my job (and that I finished this book, so won't be tempted to read on breaks) or I might have to delete the Kindle app from my phone before work. Lol

So much fun!

Anderle has the touch! I haven't been this sucked into a series since Steven Erickson's Bridgeburner series. And, with Kindle Unlimited I can read as fast as I want. The fact that I haven't caught up with Michael yet only makes me more excited.

I don't know where to start that won't give spoilers. Every page (or location) is full of awesome-sauce. Michael has fun, quick-witted if foul-mouthed characters that keep the entertainment coming.

I don't know what else to say. I want you to read these books. If you don't you are missing out.

I keep telling myself that I need to keep track of my fotflmao moments, but I get too caught up and forget.

Keep up the amazing work Michael and I look forward to continuing the ride with Bethany Ann and her bitches.

1 P...... Off Queen B.... + Nosferatu = massacre

Terrific. Now we have the AI growing and adapting into consciousness. The pilots are working on their own version of the spaceship and David is up to his old tricks. Infuriated at his loss of Michael and Anton's death he starts devising a trap. A trap using the serum that his brother worked on. Can the team cope with the trap or will it lead to bloodshed. Who are the traitors that he is using in his plots? They know that he has someone inside the Pack Council but who is it and are there more. The werewolf has now found his third form but is he the only one. Her Guards all want an upgrade. Her father is looking for a location that is secure will he find one?

Good book

Another good book in the series. It’s really enjoyed reading this one. Tons of action, no drama and lots of funny and heartfelt moments. A lot of the things Bethany Anne was setting up in the previous 2 books came together in this one and there were several interesting plot twists that made things even more interesting. Michael plays a bigger role in this book and I really enjoy the dynamic between him and Bethany Anne. Finally, there’s someone who can be close to an equal to her in strength and leadership level. There was a big plot twist at the end that excites me to rush to read the next book. This is such a wonderful series so far and I’m so glad I discovered it.

I loved the first book of this series, so I bought 5 more to keep me busy over vacation. Unfortunately, they all disappointed me. The first book was more character driven, the remaining books relied to heavily on 3rd person summary narration to move the plot line along. Also, as the paramilitary aspect of the series became more prominent, the author leaned heavily on machismo and how legendary tough this group would become. It got repetitive and didn't feel real given the circumstances of the group. I kept reading the same "met Bethany, was inspired to be a military badass" story for each of the characters. So dull. I doubt I'll read more of this series.
