Ryder and Caitlyn's friendship of over twenty years has withstood everything, until one weekend changes how Caitlyn views him, and herself. Ryder has had a thing for his best friend for years, but she's only seen him as a friend. But when he gets the chance to explore more with her, and it's explosive, his heart is broken when she seemingly vanishes from his life, and two years later appear on his friend and teammate's arm.

Caitlyn, a military nurse, knows she messed up, badly, but her time with Ryder made her realize some things about herself and she needed to work on those before even feeling worthy of Ryder. Unfortunately, she went about it all wrong and made it worse when she attended an event with a mutual friend, causing Ryder to misunderstand that relationship.

As a last ditch effort to win back the man she loves, or at least explain and apologize for the pain she caused, she volunteers for medical duty on the front, knowing the probability of Ryder, a SEAL, being there at some point is high.

Ryder never stopped loving Caitlyn, but as she cut off all contact with him, and appeared to be dating a fellow SEAL, he resigned himself to the rest of his life without her...until she was there with him, and in serious danger.

He may not understand her reasoning for what she did after their weekend together, but he's ready, though cautiously, to give them another chance, knowing she's the woman for him. But first, he has to make sure she survives the last few weeks of her deployment.

Can Caitlyn make Ryder understand it was all her shortcomings, as she saw them, and not anything he did? Why are the bad guys so intent on kidnapping Caitlyn? Can Ryder keep her safe until she's stateside again? What happens now as she's leaving the service and Ryder is still enlisted? Will they get their HEA?

One-click now and follow along as these two best friends reconnect and explore the love they share. For those curious as to safety, there was a two year period between their time together and being reunited. Caitlyn admits she tried to date afterward, but nothing happened with any of them. As for Ryder, though nothing is actually said, it gives the impression he was celibate as well. We learn he went on mission after mission following what happened with her, which would lead us to believe he had very little free time, plus, he was so completely in love with her, and hurt that she stopped talking to him, that I doubt he was with anyone else. Though I do wish he had said it to Caitlyn after she confessed hers.

Nothing could be worse than to cross that line with your best friend and find no way to repair the damage or at least make friends status again. Time pass and it just adds more salt to the wound of loss. Well both Ryder and Caitlyn find out things are not as bad as it appeared in the beginning. They both just need to talk to each other. Failed communications the first time around lead to the loss of their friendship they both are grieving the loss of. Caitlyn steps in to the lion’s den to make an effort to correct her mishap. She just finds herself at a loss of words.

This was my first read in this series and it was filled with action, suspense, drama, friendship, brotherhood, intensity. This gave me what I have come to expect from Dale Mayer. The military suspense with romance that gives you dreams of having that best friend to love and cherish, even if you have to wait for the second-time around to find the lasting kind of love. Caitlyn and Ryder had a lot to work through, or at least Caitlyn had a lot to work through and find a way of telling Ryder what she was feeling.

I loved the comradery of the secondary characters. The setting was intense. The possibility of Ryder being sent on a mission at any moment. The chance of not telling Ryder what was going on with her and how she felt. This all lead to intense moment between the two. Then add to it that there were things going on at base and her kidnapping. These all mixed very well together to make a memorable read.

Dale Mayer masterfully brought, two old friends and lovers, Ryder and Caitlyn, back together in this book. I absolutely loved the way Ryder and Caitlyn’s relationship had history, it really brought their relationship to life and brought depth to their relationship that I enjoyed. I adored that Ryder had loved Caitlyn since they were kids but that she never knew. Caitlyn’s reasoning for running didn’t impress me, but her stalking attempts, friendship with Mac, her need to help others and true feelings for Ryder won me over.

I absolutely loved all the action and suspense in this book but I really enjoyed that Ryder and Caitlyn got to go on a date during the action and suspense. It helped build their relationship back up at the perfect pace.

I found Mac’s role in their relationship intriguing and I’m looking forward to his story, especially with that little tidbit Dale left her fans at the end.

Once again, I highly recommend all of Dale Mayer’s books. They are fast paced, well written and definitely worth a reading Binge for those who need to catch up in the series!

Two years ago Caitlyn walked out on Ryder. Since then, Ryder has managed to get his life back together, but when he walks into a medical tent in Afghanistan and finds Caitlyn there, memories come flying back. It took Caitlyn months to understand why she ran, and years to finally get up the courage to talk to Ryder again. Can these two damaged characters ever get over their past issues and reach for a future together? Add in kidnappings, fire fights and mad dashes through the desert, and you get a book filled with enough action to keep you entertained for an entire afternoon.

Ho hum. This book was, well, took me longer to finish. I didn't like Caitlyn. I loved Ryder, hot, strong and knows what he wants. Caitlyn's reason for leaving Ryder was heck, hard to swallow. Really. I almost didn't want them together but Ryder wants Caitlyn so...

Gotta love Ryder's buddies. Corey is the best bud ever. Hope there's a book about him soon. Mac, well, he should've been less patient with Caitlyn and gone straight to Ryder...

The action was a little interesting but it was never explained what Caitlyn and Dr. Robertson saw that made the insurgents seek them out again. I wonder how accurate is it, the way the base camps were described. I hope it was close enough to reality. That was interesting. I admire the women who serve their country in any capacity they can, as a medical staff or soldier.

All in all, an ok book. Curious to see how Mac's story goes...

I received an ARC of the book for my honest review.

The majority of Ryder’s story is set in the dusty, desolate battlefields of IRAQ. Amid the heat of battles for this Seal and his Team, the tense operations of a MedicalTrauma team, and rebel forces continuing their fight for supremacy, desperate for medical supplies at any cost - this book delivers a friendship to romance journey, with lives at stake.

Amidst the suspense filled backdrop of war, Dale Mayer brings two life long friends together. Their platonic friendship marred by heartbreak and misunderstandings following a brief romantic interlude. Both Ryder and Caitlin, will discover just what it will take to move beyond the confines of that lifetime friendship into something more.

Especially for Caitlin, as she delves into her feelings and who she is as an individual, to fully understand her relationship with Ryder. She wades her way through her murky feelings about past relationships and her emotional being, in the search for answers. Sometimes, in that search, we do things that are out of character, are reckless and a little scary, because we just don’t know the right words to express ourselves. One thing you can count on, the SEAL community surrounds its friends and supports their loved ones 100%, to avoid disaster. That’s FAMILY.

Ryder… quintessential Navy Seal - always ready, always there to help, tough, dangerous yet understanding and caring. His heart has been shaken, shattered and hurt by the one person who should have been there right from the start. He has a beautiful demeanor, even though he is hurting bad inside. He doesn’t let the bad affect his duty to his team.

One thing I loved about both characters was their personal introspection on not only their friendship - that sometimes we aren’t always on the same page at the same time, we make mistakes and we don’t always have the answers, but also the ravages of war and how it affects those fighting, how it affects our attitudes and the questions of why would a nation want to hurst it’s own people. It’s answers that are hard to fathom.

Will love be more than they both can handle, without further destroying a friendship on the mend?
Will communicating openly and honesty drive them further apart?
Will the desperation of a country’s rebel forces tear them apart?
Will they live long enough to realise the potential of their love?

If you love page turning, romance and dramatic suspense/intrigue, what are you all waiting for? Dale Mayer delivers this and more. You also get a sneak peek into the next story… Mac will find himself in a boatload of drama and trouble. I can’t wait!

I received a free complimentary book and voluntarily reviewed it.

This is the fourteenth book in this series. However, even though, the author mentions characters from other books, this book still works very well as a stand-alone book.

In this story, Ryder and Caitlyn have been best friends since childhood. Unfortunately, one weekend, they overstep their bounds and sleep together. Ryder confesses his love, but Caitlyn runs away in confusion. As a result of this, the two of them have not seen each other since that day two years ago.

Ryder is a SEAL, and he has spent his adult life serving the country against terrorism around the world. Caitlyn is a nurse, who, lately, has also been working overseas. She hopes to be able to speak to Ryder, and make amends for her past behavior.

Although, they do end up working together, Caitlyn cannot seem to find the courage and/or the words to apologize and explain why she avoided him for two years. Ryder, on the other hand, spends his time trying to dodge Caitlyn. Although, I like Caitlyn and Ryder very much, there are times when I wanted to shake them both and tell them to stop playing games.

The action in this book begins, instantly, in the first chapter. Ryder’s SEAL group is involved in a fight that includes gunshots and bombs firing all over the place. When it is over, the SEALs take the living prisoners with them. Since many of them are injured, including one of their own team members, they take them all to the medical tent. That is where Ryder sees Caitlyn. This chapter was exciting, and I was hooked immediately.

Even though the relationship between Ryder and Caitlyn has its ups and downs, the action in this book is constant and very topical. I am not sure about the reality of this book, but I found the SEALs activity and adventures very absorbing. I found it very interesting how well the team worked together. Since the team has been together a long time and know each other so well, they work together precisely, with the speed and the exactness of a well-oiled machine.

I really enjoyed this book because there is a lot of action and adventure as the SEALs work together to find and rescue a kidnapped Caitlyn.

Great book, Dale Mayer!

Best friends crossed the line…

This is the fourteenth book in the SEALs of Honor series that can be read as a stand-alone.

For twenty years Navy SEAL Ryder Lewis had a female best friend, their relationship had always been platonic though he cared more for her than she knew and then one weekend with the help of alcohol they crossed the line into the physical and he lost that friendship. It’s been two years with no contact and lots of regret. Checking in on an injured friend at the base camp medical center in Iraq Ryder is surprised to see his old friend and overwhelmed by the feelings that he still feels for her. Can they possibly regain what they once had? Would just a renewed friendship be enough?

Military nurse Caitlyn (who doesn’t have a last name ever mentioned) took an overseas assignment in the hopes of seeing her former best friend. She’d seriously messed up when she pulled away from him after they’d crossed friendship boundaries years ago and wants to make things right again. When she runs into him at the medical center where she works the words she wants to say elude her as strong emotions rise to the surface but she’s not giving up, this may be her last chance to correct a mistake.

Trying to renew a relationship that had gone awry with military missions at any given moment shipping men out and constant danger on the base is not easy but these former friends had unfinished business. Overwhelmed by what had happened between them, Caitlyn needed time to come to and accept certain revelations about herself that she couldn’t share until now but Ryder is wary of being hurt again. Things are heightened when Caitlyn is kidnapped and Ryder will stop at nothing to save her, it’s such situations that make you realize what really matters in life, those you care about. This was an interesting addition to the series, an action packed and suspenseful best friends to lovers second chance romance story. I loved the support Ryder had from his teammates on and off the battle field, such true friendship.

An advanced reading copy was obtained from the author.

Oh my goodness ... this book is going to hit you HARD in two very unusual and very different ways! First, the love story - it's a great second-chance friends-to-lovers romance. Caitlyn and Ryder were friends for decades; he stood by her through boyfriends and a husband, hiding his true feelings until she needed a shoulder to cry on after her divorce. That weekend is referenced in hindsight, but Ryder shared ALL his feelings and it was just too emotionally wrenching for Caitlyn so she shut him out for two years. Our story picks up at the two-year mark, as he's still nursing his broken heart (so sweet - a tough alpha SEAL in every way and he's not afraid to show his heart for Caitlyn) and she's just about done processing all the overwhelming emotions and is ready to reconnect with Ryder.

Sounds easy, right? But the only easy day was yesterday, and their opportunities to reconnect only happen while they are both serving on the front lines in the Middle East. Bombings, gunfights, stolen medical supplies, kidnappings, murders, just about everything that can happen in a war zone keeps Ryder and his SEAL team busy, and military nurse Caitlyn is there to patch up, stitch up, and bandage up whatever crosses her path. When she's not in danger herself.

In short, this book has more action, suspense, and drama than any other five books I've read. And, the emotional depth of these characters drives the romance far more than their physical attraction, though these two do have chemistry in spades. The author takes us well beyond a cursory explanation of each's heart motivations, making their personal introspection the main story line and it is without a doubt brilliantly done. Love is 99% emotional after all, and it was just wonderful to see a couple deal with the entire spectrum of their feelings - both as friends and as lovers. This is an amazing book, and I highly recommend it for all. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Another Great Hero!

Numerous missions in the dangerous area of the far east find Ryder and his team battling the enemy’s constant attempts to overrun and attack the innocent people that live in the area. His focus is not quite complete ever since his best friend, Caitlyn, ended their twenty year friendship by just walking out of his life. His focus is really hindered when he finds out that Caitlyn is a trauma nurse and stationed at the medical outpost where he is headed along with his team and an injured teammate.

I love how this story has two people with a history of platonic friendship which turns into a weekend of very passionate sex. We all know how this can mess up a good friendship..and it does. Caitlyn has spent the last two years feeling guilty about how she walked away from Ryder after their passionate weekend together. It totally freaked her out and has Ryder harboring some very hurt feelings.

This story deals with the two of them dealing with the dangerous war that is front and center in their lives and having to see each other during trying times. Caitlyn needs to find a way to explain her actions to Ryder while Ryder needs to keep Caitlyn safe. I love how this story keeps these two people on a mature level dealing with hurt feelings and misunderstandings. This story doesn’t get cheesy but keeps everything very real and in perspective. I enjoyed the tension and angst Caitlyn and Ryder experience which kept the story interesting. This is another great love story that I truly enjoyed!

Caitlyn made a big mistake not contacting Ryder after a spectacular weekend that ended with his declaring his love for her. She'd walked out but she did so because she was overwhelmed. Now so much time has passed and she's made another big mistake by getting Mac to take her to a barbeque where she thought she'd be able to talk to him. Instead he left to avoid her.

A military nurse, Caitlyn is once again deployed, she's also where Ryder and his team are assigned. Although she is in the same camp, running into them isn't easy with tensions so high in the area.

Mac is injured on a mission and Ryder discovers Caitlyn is on base. Not happy with that but sort of understanding that she wanted to be close to Mac.

When the base is attacked, Caitlyn is injured, but doesn't realize it until the rush is over. With a concussion and stitches she is sent to rest for twenty-four hours. Ryder some how finds himself watching over her, he couldn't stay away.

Caitlyn needs to find a way to explain everything that went through her mind after his declaration of love. However with things heating up in the area, they never seem to get the chance for the privacy needed for that discussion.

I couldn't put this one down, so much going on and so much pain both emotional and physical. Both wanting more but cautious. I really loved the slow build and the patience Ryder shows.

I am already reading Macklin, as it's next in this three book collection.

Ryder is a SEAL and has spent his career in all sorts of dangerous places but it pales in comparison to when he lost the one good thing in his life - his best friend Caitlyn. When Ryder goes to a medical facility to visit a friend he sees her working there and wonders if he can cope with the torture of her not being his anymore but maybe being just his friend so he doesn't lose her completely. Caitlyn is determined to work anywhere - even overseas if it means she can see him after she screwed up and pushed her best friend away. However when their outpost is attacked and supplies go missing it is the start of something much worse especially when Caitlyn is kidnapped. Can they work out their priorities and move past the events in their past?

A roller-coaster ride of both events and feelings in this powerful story of love and a journey of self awareness. The descriptions of the places they were and the events that were happening were clear and easy to understand. As I read the story I found myself getting more and more into the story and reading faster even though there were times I just wanted to give Caitlyn a shake and tell her to stop being an idiot! Ryder sounded like a really nice guy and was hot too, and she really needed to get her act together (and was incredibly lucky there was no one there to try and heal Ryder. Well written as I would expect,

Books are my biggest entertainment and my escape and relaxation. Some authors are my go to gals and Dale Mayer is definitely one of the top 5. She never fails to get your attention and keep it through the Epilogue. She always leaves a hint about the next book in a series, you know just to keep the excitement going.

Ryder is the 14th book in the best selling SEALs of Honor series!

This book has all the feels of friends to lovers,2 broken hearts, second chance love with a HEA for Ryder & Caitlyn. The chemistry is so obvious between these 2 but they still have some bumps to get over from the hot weekend they spent together 2 years prior which is made difficult because before that they were childhood best friends and Caitlyn always went to Ryder with her boyfriend heartaches, he attended her wedding and celebrated her divorce that steamy weekend then she walked away, leaving him crushed.

The mystery, danger and kidnapping is as exciting as all the books in this series and I have been blessed to read every one of them. The brotherhood of Navy Seals never fails to have some swoon worthy scenes.

This book is a must read so when it goes live on 10/17 grab it and get ready for the ride.

I am impressed at how Dale Mayer managed to write 14 books in the same series and yet made every single one feel like a new, original story.
Ryder, the main character, is a member of the same team of Navy Seals as the protagonists of the previous books. I liked hearing again about them, but I also appreciated how the story is fresh, new and a complete stand alone.
SEALs of Honor: Ryder is primarily a book about a military team. The narration is action packed, with plenty of twists and turns that keep the reader glued to the page at all times.
The main characters are captivating, each one of them extremely strong and courageous; yet human, sensitive and troubled personas. Rather than the classical alpha-male/damsel in distress interaction, the narration presents the hero and the heroine bravely fulfilling their roles in a war zone with outstanding courage and competence. All the while helping and supporting each other in regaining their wounded, fragile trust in love, rebuilding their damaged relationship and strengthening their friendship with their fellow team members in the process.
SEALs of Honor: Ryder, is a book that I would definitely recommend to those looking for a fresh, captivating, page turning story that provides true, quality entertainment.

Marie's Tempting Reads ARC Review:

So Dale Mayer is still a fairly new to me author but I can say I am utterly and completely SMITTEN with her incredible SEALs of Honor and heck, ANY military romantic suspense stories. Ryder was action packed excitement with sizzling, sweet, romance, plenty of spine chilling suspense and a fantastic plot! I can't believe this is my second book by Miss Mayer. How I could of missed this series is beyond me, but now that I found it, you can bet I plan on going back and reading ALL the ones I have missed before.

So, lets get back to Ryder's story. This one had me constantly on edge. I was so engrossed with this story I finished it in a little over a day and I craved MORE! Caitlyn and Ryder are a great couple. They have that chemistry that had me hooked on their romance and the action was constant with never a dull moment. This book is just so exciting, thrilling and the romance is swoon worthy with a drool worthy hero and a heroine who is utterly smart, beautiful, and strong. So. Very. Good.

Ryder SEALS Of Honor gets a RIVETING FIVE SHOOTING STARS!

Navy SEAL Ryder and Military nurse Caitlyn were best friends for 20 years until the night they crossed the line and Caitlyn panicked and not only did she send him away she ignored him when he attempted to contact her. After some self-reflection she realized that she made the biggest mistake of her life but every attempt she makes to fix it only makes it worse.

She has taken an overseas assignment in the hopes of seeing Ryder again and they meet again when his teammate and her friend is injured. It takes her being kidnapped to reveal the truth of how she felt but will they be able to overcome the hurts of the past when they have the distraction of danger surrounding them, their compound and their team?

Although I believe that Caitlyn could have handled the situation of the change in their friendship better when it originally occurred Ryder was understanding and I liked how their they rebuilt their friendship before they rushed into the next step again. As always this author writes a compelling storyline filled with suspense, drama and romance that doesn’t disappoint. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

As usual-Ms. Dale is a wonderful writer. I received book as an ARC for a honest review. SEALs of Honor is a long series; so if you’re like me & enjoy 1. Strong, sexy guys 2. A good back-story 3. A continuing series with characters you know & see bits of their lives as they continue into the future (with some sweet sexy-times) its the series for you. Ryder & Caitlyn, best friends from childhood.... but one 3-day weekend they connect in a bigger way. She realizes (scary) she always loved him -but is in no way ready for the huge change in their relationship. He.. well he has always loved her. She runs, but then realizes he’s what she’s always wanted, but is terrified to confront him/her feelings. I didn’t quite understand if she’d always been enlisted as an RN (Go Nurses!), but they end up in Mid-east together (she’s semi-stalking Ryder).. Cute, fast read. It’s believable (not the instant love so many try to make us believe).. a little action, few kidnappings, some sexy-time. Overall decent story that I think most will enjoy.

A truly suspenseful read with lots of tenseness and excitement. Threats surround Caitlyn keeping Ryder and his team on their toes and chasing all over the place to keep her and the camp safe. Things have been strained between him and her over the last few years despite them having been best friends, so there is some angst until they can talk things out and solve their issues. No time to get to comfortable or settled in this fast paced action packed read, it kept me on the edge of my seat throughout. Ryder comes across as a caring, thoughtful guy with a vulnerable core as far as Caitlyn is concerned. He is supportive of the other guys and those he serves with as well as those he loves. I really liked his character, he listened to Caitlyn and helped her despite how hurt he had been by her. The team as always worked well together to keep each other and the camp as safe as they could, as well as rescue others when needed.
This is another fantastic addition to this series and one I never get bored with, in fact I wait just a little impatiently for the next book to release.

I do so love these books by Dale Mayer, there’s action, suspense, a hot SEAL and a beautiful woman who steals his heart. This time the two have known each other for decades, used to be best friends and for one weekend lovers. Ryder has always loved Caitlyn and waited around until she finally realized it as well. Unfortunately their one and only weekend had her running away after and leaving Ryder broken. Years later it seems she has moved on with one of his SEAL brother’s...but all is not what it seems.
Another amazing read with all the action, suspense and love you get with any one of Dale Mayer’s books and this one is no exception. Ryder is amazing, he is caring, loving, sweet and even though Caitlyn broke his heart he is still there for her when she ends up at the same camp as him. Caitlyn was a bit undecided and at times I was holding my breath until she finally told Ryder her story and it was worth the wait. Once again another keeper from Dale Mayer and I can’t wait for Mac’s story.

This book is a little different in that Ryder has known Caitlyn for 20 or so years. He has loved her for almost as long but they had only been friends. She dated other men until on fateful weekend when they made love like they were the last two people on Earth. But Caitlyn walked away from him, leaving him hurt, angry, and destroyed.

Unbeknownst to him, she was watching him from afar, trying to figure a way to see him again so they could talk. She was confused as well. She takes and assignment overseas in the hopes of seeing him again and fate once again steps in.

Ryder is a true alpha male but he also shows that he has feeling and is vulnerable to Caitlyn. Caitlyn is a caring and skilled nurse who made a mistake and wants a second chance. Caitlyn has to walk through fire but Ryder is there every step of the way.

This book had a lot of action and hot Navy SEALS. All that I have come to expect from this series and it's fun to catch up with the others from previous novels in the series.

I love Dales Seals of honor series and I loved reading about Ryder and Caitlyn. They both had a friendship that spanned for over 20 years until her celebratory party for her divorce and they both crossed the friendship line but Ryder said the three magic words "I love you" then she ran and didn't have contact for 2 years.

They both meet up whilst deployed but don't say much to each other. Caitlyn gets kidnapped twice throughout the book and they are both battling their feelings for each other, even though he thinks she is with his friend. It was a great book to read and was full of emotion sometimes whilst Caitlyn was cycling through her feelings and how to tell Ryder why she did what she did. Can they stay in the friend zone or will they both be able to get over the past and have a HEA.

It complimented the rest of the seals books and I am looking forward to Mack's story. I voluntarily reviewed this book as an advanced reader copy

Ryder is Dale Mayer’s 14th book in the SEALs of Honor series. As per my usual, I’ve come late into the game. I actually got hooked on Dale’s writing on her contribution to the Sleeper SEALs series that she recently released. I loved it so much, I got this, as well as the first 6 books in the series. (I’ve got a LOT of catching up to do!)

Ryder is miserable and angry over the fact that he has neither seen nor heard from his best friend Caitlyn in two years. After spending an incredible weekend together, she ran off and refused to talk to him. Now, one of his SEAL friends has been injured, and he runs into Caitlyn.

Caitlyn realizes she’s made a huge mistake, but while she trys to make ammends with Ryder, she’s kidnapped. Can Ryder save her and get her back into his life? You’ll have to grab this exciting book to find out! Dale Mayer does a fantastic job of portraying the military backdrop and a satisfying romance. I’m very much looking forward to catching up!

Ryder by Dale Mayer
SEALS of Honor Series Book Fourteen
Ryder Lewis had lost his best friend two years ago after a weekend that had changed their friendship—and his life. She had walked out without a word. Two years later she's back. But not with him.

Caitlyn made a huge error a few years ago. She left without talking things out. Now, she's missing her best friend. Being overseas as a military nurse is way out of her comfort zone, but the men need to be helped and she needs to be helping. And maybe...she'll have a chance to see Ryder and finally talk to him again.

A SEALs life is not easy and they are often in danger. It's enough to be watching out for the enemy without having a woman who was once your best friend in the danger zone as well.

Ryder and Caitlyn story was somewhere along second-chance-story and best-friends-to-lovers-story. They were best friends, until they’re not. Couple years past, they meet again, some awkward moments, then reconcile moment, suspenseful moments, and finally they made up and have their HEA. Plots that had been used quite many time, but with Iraq as the background. It still held interest though. There was something different with the storyline, an unusual twist that you should read to enjoy it.

All in all, I enjoyed this book tremendously. I read it in one sitting and I love every single moment of it.

I was provided a complementary copy by the author / publisher, but this in no way influenced my thoughts or opinions.

The book starts with Ryder leaving a party after seeing his teammate “Mac” arrives with the girl Caitlyn that he loves. After a wild weekend of making love, Caitlyn shut Ryder out of her life. A few years later we find Ryan and Caitlyn in the same base camp. Caitlyn never stopped loving Ryder, but will she be able to convince him of that after she hurt him so badly. As Ryder rescues her from the rebels who kidnapped her, Caitlyn explains what was going on when she shut him out. Slowly their trust in each other grows along with the realization that they both never stopped loving each other. Although this was my favorite book in the series, once I started reading it, I couldn’t put it down. I received a free copy of this book, and this is a voluntary review.

This is the story I love the most of all the fourteenth books, Ryder and Caitlyn, are two beautiful heroes, she’s the toughness of a seal and the kindness of a woman in a unmerciful land like Iraq, as Baghdad, this story has a delicate and intense side linked to a most hard and devastating one related to the exact reality you face all around the city. The amazing narration so realistic took me there again, experiencing the same emotuons and tribulation the Ryder and Caitlyn go through along their journey for the happy ending. Thanks for this so accurate and passionate adventure, this a book you should absolutely read, it's a ten out of ten!

A journe along the memories, throughout an amazing love story

Awesome sauce!

Wow, this story is great! It's got everything, it's thrilling, full of action, mystery. Ryder was Caitlyn's best friends since they were teenagers. But after one weekend spent together, her whole world was turned upside down. Especially since Ryder told her that he loved her. When they meet again will Ryder be able to overcome the hurt she caused him? Will he let her back into his life again? Will she finally be able to talk to him and tell him the truth about why she left? Only time will tell. I'm not going to give anything away. But I loved this story and all the drama of being a nurse in a medical outpost in Iraq. Kudos to Dale Mayer for another great story in her Seals of Honor series.

Dang I love Ryder (okay I love all of Ms. Mayer’s SEALs.) I had a hard time understanding Caitlin though. I don’t know if it is because I’m older or what. There were several scenes where she tried to explain herself but it made no sense to me. I did overlook it though as it was a major part of the story. The story unfurled like a action movie to me though. There is just enough description that I was able to to picture the scenes and fill in. Besides my one issue with the story, I loved it and hated to see it end. One good thing about this series, prior characters show up. I don’t have to say good-bye to my book friends (or at least I do until the next book and I can’t wait!!!!!)

This was a fast paced romantic suspense novel that caught my attention from the first page. If you like a fast paced book, you will love this book. It sucked me in from the beginning and had my attention to the very last page! If you like SEAL books, you will find this book fascinating and thrilling. The story line and descriptions make it feel so real and believable. The characters in the book make you fall in love with them and cheer them on from the start to finish. They are so memorable and powerful and you will be rooting for them till the end. Dale Mayer has written another winner!
