EXPERIENCE THE MADNESS.
ENTER THE FILES.

June, 2007. Black Force — a new division of the U.S. military that officially does not exist — has its first operative. Jason King, a young prodigy who accelerated up through the ranks at an unprecedented rate, is tasked with proving his worth as a solo warrior.

In Mexico, Joaquín Ramos has made a name for himself out of the blood of his enemies. The twenty-eight-year-old cartel leader hacked a path through anyone who dared to interfere with his newfound monopoly on the billion-dollar online drug trade, capitalising on the archaic nature of the existing empire in Tijuana.

He’s new school.

So is King.

With doubts swirling amongst those who know of Black Force’s existence, King heads into the city’s decrepit underworld alone, intent on tearing the cartel apart from the inside. Still largely inexperienced, it doesn’t take long for his plans to fall to pieces…

Outnumbered. Outgunned.

Just the way he likes it.

CARTEL is the explosive first entry in the prequel series, "The Jason King Files." Read "The Jason King Series" for more relentless thrills, exclusively on Amazon.

Thrilling start to 'Black Force', as Jason King now works alone!

A fast-paced thriller that keeps you on your toes as a young Jason is recruited for a new Black Ops force in which you are on your own...no unit to back you up or rely on, but also no one questioning what you decide, it is all up to you. This is a situation Jason is born for, with lightening quick reflexes and trained by many in different styles of fighting . Great scenes, descriptive situations and knowing what Jason is up to combine to keep you turning pages as the action moves quickly, You are in the story, running in the rain and humidity in the jungle forest, hearing twigs break as something moves to your right, jumping with the lightning flashes....Exciting story, 5 stars to Matt Rogers, again....

Amateur

I could point out several examples but will stick with three.

1). Contrary to the author writing twice early in the book that the San Diego airport was only one mile to Tijuana, it is actually about 17 miles.

2) in the jungle of Guatemala, any open sore would rapidly become infected. Jason King had an open bullet wound and open abrasions to his face. Yet, without any (self induced) medical attention paid to these, he remained healthy.

3). When King entered the jungle, he took 3 AK 47's off dead enemies. He knew lugging around 3 would be counterproductive. Yet, he did not have the sense to take the magazines out of the two AK's he left behind??? This made me shake my head in the ignorance of the author. No one in Delta would have done something so stupid.

All Hail the King

Matt Rogers this book is exceptional. I've read all of the Jason King series books and have love them all, it was great to see how he started with Black Force. This book was no exception to the talented writings set before it.
His mission kept me on my toes, filled with anticipation and excitement at every turn. Leaves you wanting more.

Matt Rogers continues to deliver exciting adventure fiction/military thrillers every time. For those of us who have devoured the Jason King Series, the Jason King Files #1 is a worthy addition to my libraqry shelf. Matt Rogers has an incredible knack for creating vivid word pictures of the pestilence and dirty, dangerous, and crime-ridden third world where life has very little value. Jason is recruited as a solor operator, and he excels. The book moves very very fast. And the book is VERY hard to put down. I ended up reading in two days, and would have finished in one sitting if I didn't have a day job and patients depending upon me. Matt Rogers has quickly moved to the top of his genre. Whether you have read ALL of Matt Rogers fiction (like me) or if this is your first, this book is a great place to start and stands alone, as a prequel to previous novels and is an excellent introduction to his character JASON KING. This is excellent for authors who love Tim Tigner, or Vincent Zandri, or Terry Keys, or Vince Flynn, or Mark Greaney, etc. I already have Book #2, WARRIOR, to read over the Thanksgiving holiday.

Cartel : Jason King Series book 1

Thanks for the historical record of Jason's coming to be and how BLACK FORCE originated. Jason's abilities to react to the situation is unique and his fighting skills are going to keep you turning pages until the end. Thanks for letting me know how Jason King Series started.

Dumb as dirt

If i could rate this book lower i would. Suspension of disbelief is important in both books and movies. I could not get behind the Jason King character because he might be in shape and a good fighter but he is unbelievably stupid. Matt Rogers insulted my intelligence and I can get those hours of reading his drivel back.

Concept is passable but writing is puerile and repetitious. Save your money to buy Childs or Flynn

I will not be investing in any of the other books by this author, I can only imagine how boring and alongside they will be.

Not impressed

Not too bad, just not too good. To be as good as he is supposed to be, he underestimates too many people, and misses too many things coming at him.

A action story

In fact to much for an individual person, even though an exceptional person. It becomes anticlimactic and unbelievable way beyond even a super hero.

First book from Jason King Files, recounting his first op in Black Force. It goes back to the very start when Jason King was a Delta and was recruited by his handler Lars Crawford to kill a notorious cartel leader who's wreaked havoc in Mexico. There no real suspense but King just goes from one place to the other in the hunt for the cartel boss. Will Slater series is far better to be honest.

Well written for me, like the story from the point of view of King learning just who he can be, and who he is. Well done looking for more!
