Tanglewood's Savannah Safari is complete, and Zoe can't wait to meet its newest inhabitants - six African elephants. But when the head of the herd stops eating, Zoe and the keepers face an elephant emergency!
Hertfordshire-based writer of books. Lives with one husband, one daughter, one son, one mad chocolate labrador, one aged tabby cat, five gorgeous bunnies. Likes animals (no, really?), Marmite and messing about on stage. Dislikes spiders, celery and arrogant people.
A book that I feel would suit the 6-10 year old age group best as an early reader.
I felt that although the introduction to the family and the zoo was good there just was far too much exposition throughout the book. It distracted from the story. Without it the story would have flowed better and a younger reader would enjoy it more.
There is a lot of good about people's relationships with animals as well as the life of elephants but none of the main human characters stood out.
I recommend that this book could be used in schools and to help reading. I just feel that it could have done more with the subject matter.
So interesting never knew what was going to happen in a good way. I love seeing elephants and animal emergencies. There was so many little ones and then a big one. I won't spoil it for you but Seran has a big emergency
I really liked it. Not only did this book have animal facts, it also has teeth facts because there were some teeth problems in this book. I recommend this book to any animal lover.
Zoe and her family are owners and caregivers of Tanglewood Animal Park. She loves all the animals but is especially excited when a small herd of elephants arrive at zoo. It is a sad day when she noticed that the matriarch of the elephant family is ill. Will the animal dentist be able to help her in time. I absolutely loved this book. Not only is it interesting it is also informative. Children of all ages will enjoy it. I can't wait to read the rest of the books in the series.
My kids still like #2 Troublesome Tiger best and I agree. The whole time I was reading I was waiting for an update on Lucky the cat her aunt was watching. Her birthday would have been a great time to being her back in or even just mention that she had to feed and play with her at home or something. I did love the descriptions of the elephants and how they communicate. So many times the kids and I said awwwww!!
